Hey all. I missed Zyada’s bbq on the 30th. Bummer.:frowning: Went to the thread and looked at the pics, wish I could’ve made it.
I will be in Dallas on July 11 (Wednesday) and would like to get together with who all can make it. I know the Ditch is the usual meeting place. That would okay again, but I was wondering if anybody would like to meet at the Red Hot & Blue on McArthur near 114. I remember from the one (and only) fest I went to that both Chef Troy and Grace mentioned they knew the place and had been there. So how about it, guys? Anyone want to do lunch the 11th?

I can make it. I’ll just ask for the afternoon off so I won’t have to rush back.

I can probably make that since it’s only about 10 minutes from my house. Now The Ditch on a weekday, requires a little more effort.

This is great. Now, what time shall we meet? I will have until 3:00, so anytime from 11:00? to 1:00? RH&B is only a few minutes from my son’s apartment, I can show up on time and find the place… Ask Grace, I nearly didn’t find the Ditch. I was in the parking lot but the restaurant didn’t have an identifying sign and I started to just leave. As a last ditch;) effort, I asked a lady getting out of her car where the place was, she said right in front of you!:o

So, let’s set a time.

Would it be possible to meet closer to 1:00?. Or if you meet earlier, don’t expect me until then. I’m driving from Plano so it’ll take me around 30 minutes to get there. Even if I take the afternoon off, I’m still not out of here until noon or half past.

Good deal. Troy mentioned that he goes to that Red, Hot, and Blue once a week so maybe he can make it.

One works for me as well (you know, when you sleep till 9:30 you tend to eat breakfast fairly late, eh?)

I’m in for 1 p.m. I usually eat lunch early but I’ll make an exception for you guys.

Oh, and they, like, love me and stuff there. I’m on a first-name basis with the manager. Which will get us exactly squat but once we know how many people are coming for sure I’ll call in the reservation.

I’m going to have to miss this one. I do have a favor to ask, though. Zyada, could you bring my sunglasses and give them to Grace since she lives a lot closer to me. Then, Grace, could I arrange a time to get them from you. I’d really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, appreciate it. Really. Not kidding. I’d totally appreciate it. For real.

I am going to bow out gracefully (better than falling out of a bus). I am on an important committee at work that deals with downsizing issues in the workplace. I communicate how the peons feel. So, in lieu of RH&B, I will opt for a brown bag lunch in a conference room.
