Any truth to the stolen Episode II script story?

I heard from a friend that there was a news story about a stolen script to Star Wars: Episode II. I can’t seem to find anything about it anywhere. Is it total bunk? Anybody know?

The only thing I’ve heard about episode II is that Lucas keeps the script in a safe under his bed.

Does he keep the script for Episode I on a roll next to his toilet? He oughta . . .

HA HA HA!

Jesus, that was funny!

Thanks, but please . . . on this board, just call me Zarathustra.

I’ve heard mixed things, Farris. Jeff Wells of Reel.com says it’s legit, and that someone is trying to sell it for $100k to theforce.net, who is in turn being leaned on by Lucasfilm to snitch on the profferer.

But, Harry Knowles of Ain’t It Cool News believes it’s untrue.

My take on it (and, I know this isn’t IMHO) is that it is legit, and Harry is just jealous it wasn’t offered to him. Do some reading around on reel.com to find out the scoop.

I hope theforce.net declines the offer, and that they don’t snitch to LFL.

They’ve got most of the details.

Personally, I think it’s a load of crap. Think back to the hoax script Indiana Jones and the Sons of Darkness, and countless other similar examples. It’s certainly possible, but for my part I’m calling it highly unlikely until any more information surfaces. (BTW, Lucasfilm’s apparently aggressive pursuit of the supposed script merchant proves nothing. They may just be guarding against anyone profiting from trademarked characters, whether or not they’re in a phony script.)

I don’t think theforce.net will snitch OR except the script, if it’s real. They’re a pretty straigh-forward, legit site.
