Anyone like Iron Maiden?

What’s your favourite songs?

I like Number of the Beast, Charlotte the Harlot and Infinite Dreams

I am a Maiden-Head … that didn’t sound right…
Favorite tunes include The Trooper, The Phantom of the Opera, Wasted Years, The Prisoner, Aces High…

Still Life
Rime of the ancient mariner
Aces High
Wraithchild
Wasted years
The Trooper
Where Eagles dare
Can I play with madness
Two minutes to midnight
Crossed eyed Mary

Here’s an obscurity: Rainbow’s Gold.

I saw them in concert twice when I was in high school in the early to mid 80s. The first time Saxon and Fastway opened for them! The second time was at Red Rocks. Those were great f’ing concerts, man!

Killers was my fav album.

Ah, mammeries … er, I mean memories.

Maiden’s pretty cool, though I have yet to hear their latest.

It’s got some good reviews - their best for a while supposedly. I reckomend you download Journeyman.

yeah… has anyone heard anything off the new one?

Yes I have heard Journeyman and Wildest Dreams. I really like Journeyman.

I loved their opening act, Wyld Stallyons…

Actually just listening to Wildest Dreams again and I think I’m gonna have to buy the album tomorrow, both those tracks are class!

I’ll see your Nektar cover and raise you one “Mission from 'Arry”

Saw Maiden live last month, it was like 1985 all over again. Bruce needs to grow his hair back, though. He ranted about corporations in general (“Verizon Wireless Ampitheater, WTF is that?!”) and file-sharing in particular…before they played “Wildest Dreams”, he basically told everyone who snuck in tape players to record it, mp3 it, and share it with all their friends, because people who are REAL Maiden fans will buy the new album anyway. Damn straight!

I’m not a huge Maiden fan, but I do enjoy quite a bit of their music.

The “Live After Death” album is probably the most amazing live album I’ve ever heard. You’d think it was recorded in a studio, except for the crazed fans in the background.

Who’d’ve thought that Dopers were such Maiden fans? This is the second “What’s your favorite Maiden song” thread in about a month!

And as I said last time… Running Free for best song.

Durn kids nowadays. Think that Slipknot is metal. Bah. Buncha growling monkeys is all you hear on the radio nowadays.

Revelations
Wasted Years
Flight of Icarus
Ancient Mariner
Running Free
Number of the Beast
Aces High

How did I miss this thread? It must have started after I left yesterday.

I’m a huge Maiden fan, I saw them twice on this past tour, driven to NYC twice to see them on past tours and even saw them with Blaze.

Don’t really have a favorite song though. Best album would probably be Powerslave.

I got the new album the day it came out. To me it’s so-so. There are some good songs, Rainmaker, New Frontier, Paschendale. And a couple that I don’t like much, like Dance of Death. Over all I was hoping for better.

Oh and I raise Black Bart Blues.

Name the Maiden song;

Da Da Datada, Da Da Datada, Da Da Datada, Doe Dah Doo DAH!
Da Datada, Da Da Datada, Da Da Datada, Doe Dah Doo DAH!

Da Datado DAA da Doo Dah, Da Datado DAA da Doo Dah…

I’m always humming that one at work

I’ve got two tickets for Iron Maiden Baby,
Come with me Friday don’t say maybe,
'coz I’m just a teenage dirtbag Baby like you!

OK, that’s not entirely true. I am neither a teenager nor a dirtbag, and I do not have two tickets to Iron Maiden.

Because I have three! Ha ha! I’m off to see Maiden in London on December 12th! Run to the hills…

Ooooh - a Maiden thread! I just cranked up Rime of the Ancient Mariner. I also have on my work computer a couple other faves - Running Free (live) and Wasted Years (close to my heart, as myself and four buds rode that song to a second-place finish in a seventh grade air band contest).

I’ve also downloaded their cover of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath which is freaking awesome.

<slight hijack> Who else has done covers of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath that I could find, (cough cough) somewhere? I have the original, Maiden, and Anthrax. For some reason, I love hearing different versions of that tune. <end hijack>
