Anyone looking forward to "Clerks 2"

I caught it this afternoon, and I agree totally with this description. There might have been one too many references, but at the same time, this is definitely one of those movies where you’ll pick up a bunch of new things when you watch it again on DVD. I think my favorite thing was that the comedic timing was perfect, which has always been one of his strengths. Definitely worth the watch.

As an aside, you could DEFINITELY tell who in the theater had seen the other Kevin Smith movies and who hadn’t. Though there were plenty of laughs for those who hadn’t, there’s definitely plenty extra for those who have.

Shame on the marketing team for fouling the commercials with a quote from Earl Dittman.

Saw it and yep, I agree too. One of the funniest parts was the bit that Joel Siegel walked out on, but man, it’s a good thing he did. If mere dialogue upset him so, the sucking and fucking donkey scene later in the film would have given him a heart attack. I thought it was hilarious!

I saw it by myself because my husband’s out of town. When I walked in and sat down in the 3rd row, I heard some young guys snickering behind me, one of them saying “She won’t last long” (see, I’m a grey-haired grandmother) and I just smiled. I laughed out loud many many many times through the film. Strangely, I didn’t hear any of them laugh once.

I even laughed at the fun poked at Lord of the Rings fans, and I’m a huge fan myself. It’s just Randle being Randle.

I loved all the cameos (I won’t give them away) and Rosario Dawson is adorable. My husband read something that said she’s a big geekgirl, and fit right in with Smith and the rest of the cast.
Eleanor of Aquitaine, why should you care what people think? Go see it! Alone if you have to. If people judge you because you’re alone, they’re losers who you don’t know anyway, so no, you shouldn’t care what they think.

I saw this last night. It was a good audience that seemed like a real Kevin Smith crowd. They laughed at all the inside jokes and applauded at the end. I think Smith pretty much hit the ball out of the park this time. If you like Kevin Smith, you’ll love this movie, if you don’t like him or or unfamiliar you’ll still get some laughs.

I loved the feuding between the Randal (the Star Wars geek) and the Ringers geeks. Randal’s “reenactment” of the LOTR trilogy was perfect. Jay’s Jaimie Gumb pose probably got he biggest laugh, though.

I thought the Jackson Five musical number started out kind of cheesy but ended up liking it.

I also liked the creepy music and Randal’s facial expressions during the geeky kid’s “pussy troll” monologue.

I thought the ending worked too and I laughed my ass off at Jay’s second condition for giving them a loan.

I don’t care what other people think. I care about my personal comfort level. I’m just squeamish enough to feel uncomfortable listening to bestiality jokes while sitting elbow to elbow with strangers. I think Kevin Smith is hilarious, but I can relax and enjoy it more at home.

I agree. The dance number was a classic, IMO. Homage to John Hughes and totally OTW at the same time. Randal sold Pillow Pants. I lost it during that scene. To top it all off, Rosario Dawson is hot, hot, hot.

“Porch-monkey…I’m taking it back!”

And, when you think about it, quite accurate. (Hey, I’m as big an LOTR fan as they come, but…come on, all three movies really were just like Randall portrayed them!)

Was it the “porch monkey” dialogue that made Siegel walk out? It did seem pretty daring, and possibly out of character for Randall…though it did manage to show how racism boils down to ignorance, not hatred.

Silent Bob’s monologue was priceless. I’ve been waiting six movies for him to say that!

And I think some people in the theater freaked out when I started headbanging to King Diamond’s “Welcome Home”…

Nope, it was the discussion of donkey sex! He never even made it to the part where it happens!

And the discussion was sooo mild. Just proves what a putz Siegel is.

Yeah, color me disappointed. I was expecting Randall to get really graphic with the whole thing. Instead, that didn’t happen.

So I guess Siegel was okay with the whole “ass to mouth” discussion?

(What IS “ass to mouth”, anyway? I still can’t figure that one out.)

Well, “tossing the salad” followed by a kiss on the lips is “ass to mouth.”

It’s a reference to going from anal sex to oral sex with no intermediary washing of the equipment. It’s big in certain European porn. I’m told, that is.

???
Taking it out the backside and putting it in her mouth. From the ass to the mouth.
Anyway,. I’m looking forward to seeing this movie. I’ve not decided if I’ll wait for the DVD or not. I hate theatres and don’t consider them a good bang for the buck. $20 for a DVD with special features that I can watch over and over… better deal.

That said, I might not wait.

Eh, it’s not like I’m going to have to worry about it either way.

I’m ASSuming the lady has thoroughly enema-ed herself before an act like that. I hope anyway. Doesn’t do much for me, I guess it’s a way for a female to show how slutty she is.

Saw it, loved it. Scan the “special thanks” in the credits, the one to Rosario Dawson is particularly great: “To Rosario, who was so believable even I thought she’d fuck Dante!”

Smith’s wife, who plays Dante’s fiancee Emma, frightens me every time I see her. Hope she’s more charming in real life.

I loved Harley Quinn’s cameo.

I think my favorite was the milk maid at the end.

She really is. I met her at a screening of Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. We chatted for about 10 minutes and she couldn’t be nicer. She’s frightfully skinny in this movie though; perhaps she should start swiping more food from Kevin’s plate.

Damn! I thought I noticed all the cameos. What scene was she in?

Does anyone know where I can find a copy of the credits, they went way too fast for me to read them all. IMDB still doesn’t have them up.
