Whoops, I’ve been so busy at work I haven’t been checking back in this thread. faithfool, my username means simply a student of jujitsu, a japanese martial art.

Well, I seem to be one who hasn’t hooked up yet… (Pick me! Pick me!) Except that for the next 3 days I’ll be travelling in Florida and most likely not at a computer.

Anyway, write me if you want to meet a quirky, food-obsessed, german game board-collecting, jujitsu-loving, nerd of the first degree.

I love reading, and in the last few years I’ve focused almost solely on science fiction. This is mostly because I had never HEARD of “sci-fi” until I was 22 years old, and thought it was pronounced “skyfi”. I had the most amazing buddies in school who were big D&D guys, and at the time I thought they were the biggest dorks on the planet. I was in some sort of small-mind warp.

I’m a Geek (therefore male), programmer, and generally pretty hot-looking. Very romantic, and I like spending time on the beach.

I’m a Star Wars fan, D&D player, book reader, boardgame fanatic. So as you can see, nothing athletic of any kind. The most strenuous activity I do is play Minesweeper. :cool: Yeah, I know, I’m baaaaad!
I’m afraid that even if you are my penpal, I won’t be able to give you my real name (those pesky *asylum * people are still looking out for me :mad: ). But I can recount some amusing anecdotes including the horrendous Porridge incident, which you might have seen on tv.

Everyone who is my e-pal buddy…

I can’t get my stupid gmail to send anything out. ::: sigh ::: The other day, for probably close to two weeks or so, I couldn’t get in my “Trash” folder either. Then when I did, it wouldn’t let me delete anything. So I don’t know what the hell is wrong with it. :frowning: I’m thinking about opening another interim account somewhere else and doing the copy and paste thing or keeping the stupid gmail open in another window to try and reply that way.

I haven’t forgotten anyone, I swear! But please, please be patient (as I know you will) because on top of everything else, I’ll be changing locations on Sunday and going from cable :slight_smile: to dial-up. With a five hour limit. :frowning:

Anyways, if someone would like to talk to a . . .

26 year old, happily married (no children), female, Graphic Designer who is far left liberal, red-head and very blunt . . . pick me. But I am very sweet! I have 2 chihuahuas and 1 cat, I live in central Ohio (my whole life). I love almost all music, though country does make me feel like slitting open my wrists and slowly bleeding to death.

Politics interest me, but not religion. Music is a major interest, as well as anything artsy (and crafty). I love animals immensely and am very passionate about friends and family.

I’m open to any emails from anyone. I would love to have a penpal from the UK or Canada, as I think my heart belongs there (although I have never been to either). But like I said, I don’t care who writes to me. I am not obsessive about email, I will write every couple days. I’m lazy, what can I say. My job has me staring at two computers all day so sometimes I really don’t feel like it when I get home.

I have been twisted into an odd pretzel shape by three days of moving boxes and then driving them up 1 in 5 hills. The last lot arrives today. Monday at the latest you will be emailed. I am now in my new pad!

Sorry to bring back up a week old thread, but I just wanted all my e-pals to know I hadn’t forgotten them. :frowning: But in true Jerry Springer mode, I went from not being able to send anything out of my stupid gmail account to now the damn thing not even opening. Plus, < cue tiny violins > the STBEH and I moved apart a week ago, I just got the slowest most awful (pitiful, hellacious, you-name-it) dial-up service in the world and a whole host of other shitty problems that I won’t bore anyone with.

Unless I get more roses. Did I mention that they’re the pinkish orange type? :wink:

Hopefully, I’ll be able to get back in there before the next millenium and at least say ‘hi’ to everyone. Again, I so apologize for all the strum and drang surrounding my intarweb life. Thanks much for your patience and not throwing anything but cotton balls. If someone wishes to reply, I’ll obviously just be checking back in here since I can’t get any (satisfaction?) notifications.

I didn’t see this until today. I would have joined, and still wish to…

I’m a 42 year old man with tons of time and little energy. Diabetes has been ruling my life for too long.

I live in a small town with few services, but at least I have broadband.

I’m married, for the second time. I have a son from my former marriage and a stepson living at home.

I used to be known as Steelerphan, changed it to get away from the hatred and intolerance that seems to walk hand-in-hand with fandom. I’m happy, at least until tomorrow afternoon…

I’m a big TV buff who can’t miss first run shows- Enterprise, ER, 24, and Battlestar Galactica are my obsessions. Yes, I’m a trekker. I’m also a gamer- I used to play D&D often, by my group dissolved and I lost patience with the slow progress of pen-and-paper games so I now play Neverwinter Nights. I’m also into Unreal Tournament- both 99 and 2004 versions.

My DM experience and my backgound in computer programming are being used to help me learn how to write my own game. but I have a way to go. I have written modules and maps for Neverwinter, Half-Life/Counterstrike, Quake I and II, and Unreal Tournament. I’m also working in Terragen, the realistic terrain modeler; Wings 3D, a modeling program, and Celestia, the real 3D celestial mapping and rendering program.

I don’t go out often, for several reasons, and I’m getting a bad case of cabin fever with this bad weather. I need a pen pal, someone to talk to, because I lack human contact- my wife works some distance from here and has very little time after working and commuting; I can’t ask her to stay up all night too. Yes, I’m a raging insomniac too.
