Y’all I need lots and lots of good thoughts, prayers and so forth for my sister. She tried to commit suicide this afternoon. Her stomach has been pumped (pills and alcohol) and at the moment she is stabilized and in the ICU in La Grange. Fortunately my niece found her and called 911. Needless to say I am all shook up. I want to go there right now but I don’t think that would be a good idea for me to drive right now as I am shakin’ all over and really too upset to drive a couple of hours. OYKW offered to drive me but I think maybe goin’ up tomorrow when I am in a better emotional state is still the best idea.
We had some excitement at irk this afternoon. A package came to our receiving dock that was suspicious. The police, bomb squad and fire department evacuated the building around two and a little before three, everyone was sent home and the evening shift contacted to stay away. I hope I have a workplace to go to tomorrow.
Thanks! Y’all are the bestest! I finished dindin and we et. ‘Twas good. Sis is stabilized and everyone is a little more calm now. I talked with mom and told her I’d be up in a couple of days. My niece is keepin’ me updated. Needless to say my cell is glued to me at the moment which for me is not a usual thing.
Supper was yum and exactly enough - steak, fried N.O.T.-n-onions, and corn. We each were satisfied and no leftovers. Huzzah!!
**FCD **had to run to CVS top pick up his meds, and he brought me some ice cream, because he’s a keeper!

I thought this week would be an easier week but it is not looking like it. I know I shouldn’t get stressed out over little things - but stress me they do.
The appraiser is coming out Thorsday, which will be day 4 of the mouse poison, the day they all should be dropping dead.
I enjoyed a concert last night but am worried today. Just as I’ve gotten over some health difficulties, I have new health issues now.
I have a toothache. This is a big deal. I’ve never had a toothache before. My teeth have usually been perfectly fine. My teeth must be very, very bad to hurt this much. It’s sort of a jaw pain. I wish I’d caught it earlier by looking at my teeth in the mirror (not a pretty sigh, I discovered this afternoon ), but I never think to look at my teeth because they’re usually fine.
I did manage to make an appointment for the dentist tomorrow morning.
I really, really hope I’ll still be able to play in the concert on May 14. I’m beyond worried.
It’s getting gloomy in here, so let me share some good news.
Since I’ve been here last I’ve moved to my friends, Irish Storyteller & Seasonal’s house in God’s Waiting Room. Not twelve hours after I moved in, I acquired a cat. Or rather a cat acquired me. Fluffy Cat Samantha decided I’m good people so she had deigned to accept me as Her Human. I rewarded her with tuna juice so she will love me forever.

Butters, glad you survived. And one of my favorite airshow memories is being being a T-33 when she fired up her engine. I smelled like Jet-A for the whole day.
1ºC but sunny. Much better than yesterday, which was 2ºC and rainy.
I reserve the right to laugh at my Brazilian coworker because he doesn’t go out in the rain. What was falling occasionally here yesterday was little more than a bit of watering, what they get around Bahia is deluges, but apparently he’s afraid he’ll shrink.
Temp hovering around 34° and it’s only supposed to hit 48° today. I’m wearing a long sleeve shirt and a cardigan, and I’ll be donning my hoodie before I leave in about 10 minutes. We did get some nice showers overnight and I brought in my spider plants just in case it goes sub-freezing. All in all, I’m not much impressed with April so far. Stoopit weather.
**FCD **is still crashed. When he saw his back doc, he got pain meds, sleepy meds, and an order for PT. He’s already taken advantage of the meds, and PT starts in 2 weeks - the place he’s going has a very full schedule. Anyway, I’m glad he’s getting some sleep, poor baby. Mel does nothing for him and other meds leave him hungover in the morning. We’ll see what this stuff does.
Meanwhile, I’ve emptied the dishwasher and rewashed a few items that came out kinda gross. Yes, that’s why I inspect everything as I put it away. You’re welcome.
