Aww, I really DID get a mention!! Though I suspect it was due to my self-insertion into the thread. In which case, hooray for me! Thanks Siege, pleasure knowing you too.
No, it was because of your thread on waitressing, among other things.
Sunrazor, while I won’t speak for Polycarp, I wouldn’t refer to myself as “Catholic” any more than I’d refer to myself “Worldwide”. As an Anglican, I’m a member of the catholic Christian church (note the small “c”) which includes all forms of Christianity, but I’m not a member of the Catholic (note the capital “C”) Church and entitled to take Communion in it or otherwise claim membership.
Shirley Ujest, you, Kalhoun, FriarTed, Monstro, CajunMan, ZevSteinhart, and **SamClem ** were among the people I forgot to name, and you lot are among my favorites! As for you, gigi, you were one of the first people I thought of this morning, and not just because of your taste in music. I’d love to spend an evening discussing religion with you, Sarahfeena, Polycarp, Tomndebb, FriarTed, Diogenes, ZevSteinhart, Doc Cathode and Kalhoun.
You missed the etc. in that list. I also like hearing from people of differing political beliefs, religious beliefs, sexual orientations, etc. If this Board was filled with people just like me it would be boring, not to mention bordering on self-abuse.
Now I get it. Thanks for the mention. I agree, it’s good to read what you diasagree with.
In the same room? Man, are YOU livin’ on the edge!!!
and cmkeller!
What?! I made someone’s list?!? (hey-it’s me, even if the name is mis-spelled…)
Thankee kindly, Jim sir–and right back atcha.
I would also like to meet Skipmagic, Giraffe and TubaDiva --although I prefer to think of them chained to their computers, forced to moderate as Cecil uses sarcasm and other non-Geneva convention methods to get work out of them…
My list is too long, but here’s an attempt: WhatExit, Aanamika, WhyNot, Tomndebb, Spatialrift, sampiro, strangeronatrain, Quadagop, Bricker, holmes and lots more. (and yes, I am too lazy to go back and code each name separately!)
Hot damn–made another list. I am not having the best of days, so this is helping. I posted then realized that I had completely forgotten the non-USA contigent. Sorry, folks.
See what I mean about a bad day? I hit reply, not “bold”. Here is an (in)complete list for “foreign” Dopers: Lissa Lisslar, Finnagain, ArrMatey, and ? I am sure that I have left out many. Sorry bout that. (is ArrMatey overseas somewhere? Maybe it’s his Dopername that makes me think that)…
I’ve always wondered if I’ve ever run into Sternvogel, Sattua, or JimSox5… since I work for Purdue and live near Jim’s hometown.
Yeah, I’d like to meet them!
I’ve become friendly with a couple of posters via email, What Exit? and WordMan. I think it’s likely that I may end up meeting them at some point, since I travel to their areas a few times a year. I think I’d enjoy talking with Left Hand of Dorkness and The King of Soup, and I’d love to meet Colibri on his home turf.
Holy Crap, I got a mention.
I have also always been curious if I’ve met DDW, but probably not recently as I rarely leave Crawfordsville anymore. However, it makes me sad that this makes me ineligible for the other “Nobody Love Me Thread” where I usually get to hang out.
Ooo, and kambuckta and **calm kiwi ** just to hear them talk. And isn’t Quicksilver down under too?
He’s not down, he’s UP, eh.
See? I suck at names, and without faces, it’s even harder! I would love to meet some Kiwis and Aussies, Canucks and <add most of Europe, Asia and Africa here>
But NOONE from New Hampshire. Just so we’re clear on that…
I’d like to know more about Terminus Est, more to discuss Gene Wolfe than anything else.
I’ve always found Qagdop to be interesting (more for cheese fetishes than anything medical).
And I want to find out which restaurant Anastaseon worked at in Seattle, so I can find out if my wife and I were her customers.
Oh…lastly, Frylock seems interesting.

I’d love to even sven’s and Anaamika’s heads about living and traveling in India.
Also, I know there’s more than three PhillyDopers.
If ever you were served by a stunning, red-headed, charming waitress with pale skin and grey eyes, an easy laugh, and legs to die for… it wasn’t me. And never will be, since I don’t look like that.
I never did go to work for the restaurant - I got hired at the consignment shop before they responded. I was thisclose, though.
I think she made a thread about it sometime. You can probably search for her name.
As for me, if you really are interested, let me know and I’ll give you my e-mail and you’re free to e-mail me.
I found two lost souls lost in some other thread, that I did forget last night.
Arien, I really enjoy your posts in the various Tolkien threads and **EddyTeddyFreddy ** is one of the saner people in many of the pit threads that brings a little levity to them. I look forward to your posts.
eleanorigby: please forgive my misspelling your name, I also failed to bold all the names I mentioned or notice **Silenus’s ** post earlier. Boy I am glad by dumb luck, yours was the name I thought of right after QtM.
Silenus, when your Dodger’s beat my Yanks again, I will gladly buy you that beer. Needless to say, you and everyone else have an open invitation to visit for a beer and talk without a World Series match-up.
I noticed I missed Baker also. Hope to meet you at some point.
Jim
