I am and have been since I first saw him in The Adventures of Briscoe County, Jr. back in '93.
A couple of weeks ago, I saw him in a movie in which he starred as his present character in Burn Notice, Sam Axe, a Commander in the SEALS (Now a retired FBI agent in BN). Since I came in late I don’t know the name of the film, but I thought it was kinda neat that his character carried over into a tv series.
The reason I like Bruce is that he has that “James Garner Humoresque” mannerism which, in my book, makes him an instantly likeable character.
Okay, to the point: What was the name of the above movie?
Burn Notice is one of my favorites. House heretofore having been one of the others. What makes them my favorites is that the characters are well-cast and their personalities are totally believable.
Quasi, the movie you saw was called “Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe”. It was first broadcast last year and was a prequel movie that led into Burn Notice’s fifth season. It didn’t carry over into the series, but was made due to Campbell’s popularity on the show.
Heh, yeah it was, wasn’t it? But from an economical standpoint, I bet it didn’t cost much to make.
Why was he in urban camo? That was one of the funnier scenes > when the chief asked “Why are you wearing blue pants? The jungle is green?”
Thanks, Cochrane, et al. Oh and BTW, you all saved us some money last weekend when I read the reviews of Dark Shadows in this section of The Dope. I think it was about 9 out of 10 negative, so we were glad we chose The Avengers instead. When you think about it, we’re our own Consumer Reports , aren’t we?
It wasn’t totally bad. It co-starred the highly scrumptious Kiele Sanchez, who plays Callie on A&E’s The Glades. I really hope she and Jim shack up this season.
I must be, because I read “Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way” and watched “My Name is Bruce”. Neither is destined for greatness, or even mediocrity, but I liked them none the less.
He is one of my personal favorites.
When I discovered that he was playing a role in ‘Burn Notice’, I told my friends.
That show has new fans because of the panache Campbell brings to the camera.
As someone already said, he has this James Garner/Jim Rockford kind of swagger.
“EVERYONE liked Bubba Ho-Tep”
“My Name is Bruce” is a major ham-fest and it really looks like [del] Ash [/del] Bruce has come to accept the cult status and have fun with it.
