Arnold, Cyclists and Hamantaschen - A Signs of Spring MMP

Good morning all! Happy Thursday - it’s almost FIRDAY, thank Og.

I’m caffeinated and have brekkied on maple/brown sugar oatmeal with bananas. SpecialOne, it’s good to see you, don’t be a stranger, please. Sorry to hear about the snow in the northeast  that’s how I’d feel too! I’m running a bit late this morning but I am going in to work, at least. LOL

Again, happy Thursday.

:waves to Nooner - of course we missed you, how could we not?

I am feeling very blufy today, but since I went to the pub last night I suppose I can’t complain! I’ve had a couple of rather late nights and for someone who needs as much sleep as possible, that is not a good thing. I’m planning on an early night tonight though, all I have to do is get groceries after work and then heat up pasta to go with leftover skettie sauce from yesterday.

I did think of another sign of non-flower-related spring, I am wearing open-toed shoes and have painted my toenails! They don’t get polished all winter unless I’m going somewhere they’ll be on show, so once the spring shoes come out, the varnish is close behind.

Happy nearly Firday, folks!

Morning, everyone. The snow is still there, Gnat has pushed TomKitten over, and we’re toilet training.

It’s going to be an interesting day.

I think I saw a redhead zooming by…
Assuming the upper part of your leg is better, LiLi  Remember, there is no interwebz in prison.

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

LiLi, just don’t throw a Donner party for the kids, OK?

After the hail and tornadoes yesterday, snow ain’t that bad a thing. Wish we hadn’t gotten so much black ice though. One patch caught me paying too much attention to my radio and I came way too close to customizing the car.

I’m glad someone else understands and it’s not just me! Now I’m having fun trying to get the software to correctly identify blank/missing/null records. WHY doesn’t it get it??

Oh, I just figured it out. Nevermind.

The Upper Midwest got snow yesterday too, not just the Northeast! And we’re having flooding too. Two of the three main bridges over the Minnesota River in the southwestern suburbs of the Twin Cities are closed. This happens every year, and twice last year. I really don’t know why anyone lives south of the river and tries to commute north. Or why the bridges are built a few feet above the river instead of way way above the river, given its tendency to flood. Fargo’s bracing for floods on the Red River, St. Paul’s expecting flooding on the Mississippi, and smaller towns and cities on the St. Croix are preparing. We had a wet fall, snowy winter, and we’re starting off a wet spring. I’m glad we don’t live anywhere near any of those rivers!

Good luck with the potty training, LiLi!

It was better. It seems to have gotten worse in the last hour.
I will probably not kill Gnat today.

::::::::zzzzzzzzzooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm::::::::::

It’s not everyday you get compared, in all seriousness, to a holocaust denier.

What a lovely day.

Soapy do we dare ask why?

Howdy Y’all from irk! I have a new shirt. Ok it’s a COA shirt to wear as advertisement on Sattidy. I was expecting a t-shirt but it’s actually a kinda nice golf shirt. The only problem is it’s white which will, mark my words, spell disaster. White articles of clothin’ and da bear tend to not get along very well.

Oh and we got state folks comin’ in for a while in the mornin’. Woo and Hoo.

That is funny, for ALL the wrong reasons.

Howdy Y’all! Home from irk and soon will start cookin’ dindin. Can’t wait! One minor change. Bizkits instead of cornbread. I should probably get a snack cause I’s a hongry bear!

Did I miss something? Was this the person you were supposed to escort around or someone else? Were they drunk and did you nab any of their stash for me?

I really can’t get into it, but it wasn’t the person I was escorting. She was delightful. Basically, I called someone out for using the term “ethnic cleansing” to describe a workplace situation. I received a page long screed saying that I was as bad as holocaust deniers for saying that comparasion was over the top enough to be offensive to people who have experienced such real tragedies. The individual who replied actually said the two situations ARE comparable.

His words were so hateful and vitriolic.

Gee, how did I miss the round ups and executions on campus?

The sun is shining at last!! Up till now, it’s been a grey, dreary day, cold and windy. It’s still breezy, but at least it looks nicer out there. **FCD **has tried out his inversion table - we’ll see if it does him some good. For now, it just makes him dizzy.

Daughter will be a bit late today - she’s got a staff meeting. I was going to make corned beef but I wasn’t feeling all that good today, and I don’t want to make one of my favorite meals when I don’t feel like eating. So I’m going to use up some leftover london broil and make some stroganoff.

Glad tomorrow’s Firday, but this weekend looks to be chilly and not nice for working outside. Maybe I’ll make our living room curtains.

Soapy - that’s just beyond bizarre. Would it do any good to share the screed with someone in power? Idiocy like that needs to be addressed, methinks.

So Happy It’s Thursday. Virtual Firday for moi…

soapy…what the?

I have had another ridiculous week this week with travel etc and I am tahred. Urgh.

And the next few weeks are more of the same. I am exhausted.

Tonights supper will be fish tacos - I got some very very dirt cheap tilapia at the store last week so I will chop it up and bake it in chipotle spiced panko then serve it up with onions and peppers etc

Gotta get back to work!

My brain just asploded.
THE NEW BED IS HERE!

OY!
What a day I had today

I took the car in for routine maintenance and found out that the harmonic balancer (engine dampener) had to be replaced - way too dangerous to drive from LI to Philly. But they don’t have the part in stock and won’t get it until tomorrow midday and I have to leave early in the morning. So . . .

I ended up at Enterprise Rentals. They were first going to rent me an SUV, but I had trouble getting into the driver’s seat. So they brought around a minivan, then a different SUV - same problem. They said a Chrysler 300 was on its way back in, so let’s do the paperwork. We then discovered my driver’s license had expired . . . in Sept’09! So . . .

Enterprise dropped me at the DMV, where I found out that (thank Og) there is actually a 2 year grace period in NYS and had I waited much longer I’d have had to go back to square one - with a learner’s permit and a driving test. I now have a valid driver’s license. So . . .

Enterprise picked my up at the DMV and we finished the paperwork and everyone is happy. Everyone, that is, except me who is looking at an $1100 repair bill, plus $250 in car rental fees ON TOP OF the hotel and convention costs of competition weekend. So . . .

In order to be able to pay all my bills come Monday, I closed my two piddly savings accounts (combined, they totaled less than $1500) and dumped the money into my checking account. So . . .

I am officially broke - at least until Mid-April when I’ll have received my tax refund, the rent, and a few more paychecks. So . . .

Again I say
OY!

BEAT THAT! I DARE YA!
