Arrrrrgh! The holiday season TV drought

Now that I have a few weeks during which I have the time to watch a bit of TV sitting on the sofa in the evenings, instead of having to catch things here and there online when I can squeeze them in, I see that none of my shows are showing new episodes until mid-January (most of them around Jan. 20)! And some of them are even done until next year. And some have been cancelled or completed. January is too busy for TV. What can I watch now? Fiction comedy or drama - no cop shows, lawyer shows, or doctor shows.

Crazy-making.

Archer - new season starts Jan. 27
Boardwalk Empire - done until probably next fall
Community - resumes Jan. 20
Curb Your Enthusiasm - Who knows when?
Downton Abby - returning some time in 2011
Entourage - summer 2011
An Idiot Abroad - Done
The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret - Done
Louie - summer 2011?
Mad Men - summer 2011?
Modern Family - Jan. 5 - okay there’s one at least, but that’s weeks away
Mythbusters - phew - coming back Jan. 4 - but it’s a reality show, not fiction
The Office - Jan. 20
Outsourced - Jan. 20
Parks and Recreation - Jan. 20
Penn and Teller: Bullshit! - Who knows?
The Ricky Gervais Show - Jan. 14 (I much prefer him as a cartoon than in podcasts or standup)
Spartacus - Jan. 21
Terriers - Cancelled
The Tudors - Done
V - Returning Jan. 4
The Walking Dead - fall 2011

I’ve found the lack of Christmas-themed episodes disappointing, myself. Warehouse 13 had one, Eureka and Psych neither of which I watch had ones, but almost no one else did. :frowning:

Now’s a good time to watch an older series on DVD that you’ve meant to watch but never had the time for. How about The Wire?

I’ve been watching Coupling on NetFlix On demand.

That’s too much of a commitment, really.

Plus, it’s a cop show.
