Ashton Kutcher Rumored to Replace Charlie Sheen on 2.5 Men

I would have had an old flame of Charlie’s notify him that her ten year old son is his, she is dying, and she’s sending the kid over to him. He immediately has a heart attack and dies. Kid arrives, Jake gets promoted to full man, and the show continues.

They could not have gotten an actor more ddifferent than Sheen if they had grown one in a lab. Kutcher is the anti-Sheen.

My idea ws to have an old flame tell Charlie her ten year old is his, she is dying, and she’s sending the kid over to live with him. Charlie has a heart attack and dies, Jake gets promote to full man, kid takes the place of the half man, and life goes on.

The characters of Charlie and Allan are written as a dichotomy. If you scrap the Charlie character, you break the show. If you replace the Charlie character with a character that’s written to fulfill the same role, and is portrayed by a talentless douchebag, you molest the corpse of the show.

What’s the meaning of his Twitter? Is there any significance to the fact that the number he picked has a rational square root? And did fans know what it meant?

Merged two threads on Two and a Half Men into one thread about, I guess, Five Men.

I voted for the “other” simply because I want to have a wait and see approach with it.

It could be a knockout…or a complete dud with Kutcher in there, we shall see.

I will say however that of the other people who were rumored I think he is the worst choice (Hugh Grant would have been hysterical) but I still want to wait and see.

I don’t really watch the show that much, though I will leave it on from time to time. I don’t think anyone can replace Sheen, he has some sort of look about him that’s perfect for his character who doesn’t give a shit at all. Kutcher is to bright and happy so I don’t think it will work with him.

He sounds like an excellent addition to a show I’ve never watched and never will.

I have enjoyed the show for a number of years now. It is going to be very odd not seeing Charlie – I thought he was hilarious playing Charlie Harper! But I am willing to give Ashton a chance, and see what kind of character that he will be playing.

I don’t think it’ll work if Kutcher’s character is going to be another Charlie.

I have never actually watched an epsiode of *Two and a Half Men *but I would totally watch that. D’uh WINNING!

What, 6.25? You don’t get the significance that the square root is two and a half? Man!

Unless you’re talking about a different tweet.

But if you take out the “Charlie” character, the “Alan” character doesn’t work anymore. It’s an insoluble problem, even if they enlisted a strong talent to try to pick up the pieces.

They’re banking on Ashton Kutcher; they are beyond boned. Drop the curtains, turn off the house lights, update your resumé, because the show’s over, folks.

Did you make a rounding error there?

Doubt Kutcher can keep the show going, but what the hell. Let him try.

And even if he doesn’t and the show fails…like it would be his fault?

I’m not suggesting that you’re writing him off already, or that anyone is, I am just curious to see if it doesn’t work out who would get the blame

Yeah, he won’t work as a Charlie-clone, but that just makes me wonder exactly what type of character he is going to be, to play off of Cryer’s Alan Harper. It will be interesting to find out!

I can’t see how they would work him into the show.

Let’s see, Charlie gets a better gig and has to move to New York. He sells the house to Ashton, a wealthy actor. Ashton lets Allen and Jake stay in the house. He keeps Berta on as housekeeper. Rose becomes obsessed with him. (Is she still on the show?)

No, not contrived at all.

I just read a newspaper article that Hugh Grant, of all people, has discussed the Sheen role.

It’s time for Alan to grow a pair, so maybe Ashton’s character should be like Woody on Cheers – sweet and naive, sexy but a bit of a hick. Alan can take him under his wing, mentor him. (Yeah, right.)

Maybe they will introduce the Ashton character as a long-lost half-brother from one of their mother’s four marriages…?
