{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{swampy}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
{{Swampy}} I’m so sorry. It’s good you can be there with the family, though.
FriT13ths are usually lucky for me, and today was the same.
We’re moving, at the end of the month, to a house owned by MrTao’s ex’s mom. I’m going to call her Nancy. We’ve been putting things in storage…slowly, as this required first emptying useless stuff OUT of storage. We hadn’t seen the inside of the house yet, just gone and looked around the outside once it was clear the previous tenants had left. MrTao’s relatively familiar with the house, as when he was married to the ex, the ex lived in the little back house on the property.
Anyhoo, today we got to see the inside, and while I can tell it’s going to be a lot warmer there than here, as the AC is kinda rickety and fans seem to be doing most of the work, the extra space is going to be wonderful. Place is all clean and ready to go.
Best part? We talked to Nancy today to see if we could start moving things in the weekend before the 1st, since the first is a Tuesday or Wednesday. She gave us carte blanche to start moving in right now So, Monday we’ll go down to the rental office and sign the lease, and I can start bringing stuff right over there instead of to storage and THEN to the house.
This will make things so much easier it’s not even funny.
Plus, it’s overcast and sprinkly outside! The sprinkles dry up as soon as they hit the ground, and nothing’s actually getting wet, but it beats 120 degree direct sunlight, and it almost smells like rain. Sorta. Close enough for now
I’m laughing because we have a ‘severe thunderstorm warning’ going on right now. And flood warnings. /facepalm
Seriously? It clouds over and suddenly we’re calling in FEMA! :p:p
I’m not working on a Friday night. WTF do I do?
I’m sorry swampy.
{{{{sticky}}}}
I’m getting ready to grill ground beef kabobs.
Mrs. Plant v.3.0 is helping her sprout cook some stuff the Sprout wants for something or other. Fried avacodoes, however one spells it and makes the plural.
“I think it would be improved with just a little mayonnaise.”
Maybe I better go back out to the grill.
My back hurts like a m----r f----r.
That’d be real scary b/c OBL is my beast! I don’t know what he’s doing with Flytrap’s credit card. I also know if he got my card & keyboard, he’d be quite happy with his new chew toys.
…& sorry 'bout Tommy
Well, if you’re not independently wealthty, you are scum of the earth! Ummm, like me.
Especially as of July 1st… I’m eligible for benefits. Looked at pay stub today, they’re charging me *double * what the quoted rate was for both medical & dental. I’m also taking deductions for dependent care but don’t know anything about where form is or where to send for reimbursement. Therefore, I’m out a <boatload> of $ & didn’t get a callback from the HR peoplez.
Looks like Happy Hour’s on Moooom next month, though all must order cheap drinks to not put her in red from consignment pay.
Gotta go pack; I’m ‘out’ this weekend. Laterz.
Shabbot Shalom Y’all, as appropriate.
Unfortunately these people never answer the phone. It took me three weeks to schedule an appointment and the only reason I actually talked to a live person was because I called the hospital’s complaint line and they forwarded my message.
I also wanted to say, swampy, that I don’t really like chicken salad, but yours sounds pretty good.
I really don’t know of anywhere in Akron. I was thinking about trying the Cleveland Clinic but honestly this class I’m taking is a killer and the Sweet Avenger and I are going out of town next week and everything is just crazy. I’d really prefer the Cleveland Clinic, but the fact is, as a patient, I certainly have nothing to offer.
Congo, don’t do it. Don’t take the extra class. The money saved isn’t worth the stress accumulated. Also, have you tried looking at somewhere like Chegg.com to buy or rent books? That’s where I usually end up getting mine lately.
Just got home from a fun local museum. I volunteered to pull pork for two hours. Let me tell you how popular I am here with the dogs tonight despite having washed my hands 4 times.
Oooh, Sticky has a good point. I lost my college funding by taking too many classes and then dropping two of them…1 day late. Didn’t find out, or realize anyway, until the end of the semester that those zeros counted toward my gpa and, boom. No more funding. Sucked. Totally my fault for missing the deadline, but I somehow misunderstood how badly that was going to affect everything.
Do what you can do well, rather than everything mediocre.
I have the greatest respect for Swampy as an Artist, not a Fry Cook, but chicken salad…a chocolate covered raisin is still a f—ing raisin.
The school I work for has a money making thing where restaurants bring samples to a large room we rent of the event. Staff is expected to volunteer to Help Out.
I carry trash. One doesn’t have to think, and if anyone complains, I give then their trash back.
But I digress.
When I lived in the woods, I’d get up at 6:00, don yesterday’s clothes, walk “around the block”, 1 1/2 miles in the woods, shower and make work on time.
Once after the Money Making Thing, a neighbor’s Labradors smelled chocolate milk, chilli, roast, hot and sour soup, etc., and followed me home despite my protests.
{{{{{{{Swampy}}}}}}}; so sorry to hear about your friend Tommy. I will keep his family and the greater family of St. Patrick’s as well as you in my thoughts and prayers.
Don’t get me started on health plans! While I am fairly happy with what I have now, the manual which describes the coverage is about 70-80 pages long, and you have to download it online (they used to just send you a new one every open season). Plus, even worse, it’s written in language that is just … well it’s hard to understand. And that’s putting it mildly. At least I do have coverage and it’s fairly decent, though, so I guess there is that.
That chicken salad recipe sounds very delicious, Swampy, I’ll have to try it although without the nuts as my daughter is allergic. Curry is a good flavor to add to chicken salad, I think it would be especially tasty with apples in there. That’s sort of like a waldorf chicken salad!
Yesterday was my “baby” brother’s 50th birthday! I called him and sang happy birthday to him - he’s doing so well. He’s had serious problems with alcohol but is no longer drinking (praise Og!). Now I just need to convince him to get a computer and join the inter-webs!
Tomorrow is back to the pool day; I have been neglecting exercising so I will get back to the pool tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good weekend!
Which for many years was the language of choice of the Russian court, which is one of the reasons so many of them ended in France after the Revolution.
I’m sorry about your friend, swampy.
BooFae, my question back is, why does your phone beep every two minutes to remind you you have a text? Mine is much more polite, it just blinks and does not even brighten up the screen if it’s on “low glow”.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 74 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 92 for the day. That actually sounds nice.
Thanks again for all the condolences y’all! Like I said before, Mumpers are the bestest!
I made the chikin sallit last night and will take it over later this mornin’. I have been asked to make some tea and bring it to the church house tomorrow as we will be feedin’ the family N.O.L. before the funeral. I figure makin’ some sweet and unsweet tea is easy enough. So
Spidey ummm yeah. OBL is your dawg. I thought about that after I posted. :smack:
I know there’s probably other stuff to respond to but my brain is not yet in gear. Thus, I shall seek more caffiene and consider what to feed rumbly tummy.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
Aha! Well, that’s my something new learned for today.
Herbs, I’d really like to get back into water aerobics, too. The problem here is that the classes are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at my favorite Y and I have class both of those nights. It’s kind of frustrating because I really would like to get back into exercising but my knee has really gotten ridiculous since the last week of physical therapy and I don’t know really what I could do. If anyone has any thoughts on that I’m open.
Ok, I’m going to try to get my research done for my next big paper before giving in and going back to bed for awhile.
Hey! In case you’re not facebook friends with her, y’all oughtta know:
Mahna Mahna got engaged!!!
I’m working a closing shift, so I get a leisurely breakfast today. And I get to listen to both dogs sing the song of their people to passers by.
Yay for Mahna Mahna!
Yay for Muppet! Though she never stops by anymore.
I went back to sleep for a while. I woke up and thought, “it’s kinda hot in heah.” A/C appears to be on the fritz so I have a call in for someone to come out. Rah.
Turns out some little doo-hickey went out on the a/c. Seventy-five bucks later, it works again. Rah.
Yay for AC workin’!
Yay for Muppet!
Yay for…coffee!
