At last, Dr. Scylla, we meet again, but THIS time, the advantage is mine!

You guys crack me up.

Carry on.:slight_smile:

14.) http://www.straightdope.com/columns/010803.html

10.) the link I provided stated that it was the Original… how is it not correct.

11.)I am assuming you question the 7.65mm answer. the link I will provide will show you that the 9mm evolved from the 7.65mm, therefore stating that it was a valid caliber. link: http://www.defensereview.com/print.php?sid=57

6.) reading it aloud doesn’t help… :slight_smile: You are no doubt refering to a poem written by Edna St. Vincent Millay called Renascence, so I would say the answer is: three mountains in a bay? You got the wording wrong, it is:

All I could see from where I stood
Was three long mountains and a wood;
I turned and looked another way,
And saw three islands in a bay.

16.) what was the correct answer? 42 or Blowing in the wind?

  1. If all I could see from where I stood were three long islands and a wood, what would I see if I turned and looked the other way?

you’d see: three long islands and a wood.

you turned (180 degrees, I assume) and looked back into the direction from where you started.

Oh…You said MST3K…I see

66 posts, 34 till Scylla faces his doom, will the final questions be answered? stay tuned…

Yep. I know. I know. Believe me I know.

(te hee hee - yet another legitimate post)

Oh, good,yet another legitimate chance to post. Gee, Zebra I’m not sure I know the reference for this question - how do I get Scylla& Fenris to fight each other rather than take me down? (You’ve noticed then that they’re both fairly conservative, and I- for the most part- am fairly liberal?) or were you referring to Strainger & UncleBeer? Would be happy to answer (in yet another post) after you clarified the question (in yet another post) :smiley: (betcha **Scylla ** doesnt’ forget me again real soon)

I don’t know folks. Although his craven appeal* to Uncle Beer did not seem to bear fruit, there is a good deal of head way being made against the answers to these questions. I think he’s going to make it.

*It also displayed an utter lack of knowledge when it comes to proferring a bribe as well, pretty pathetic for a member of the landed gentry.

Also: Mister Terrific, Wonder Woman, Robin, T.O Morrow, Aquarius, Black Carnary, Captain Marvel, The Spirit, The black pirate, the viking prince, Johah Hex, Enemy Ace, Miss Liberty, The time commander, Commander steel, The star spangled Kid, and Power Girl. These are some villans and such, from later in the story I think you are talking about, but I thought I would cover the bases as they say. :slight_smile:

…its a three handled, moss covered, family credenza.

::Epimetheus goes over to look

…just a little farther

…you’re almost

::closet door slams shut. Lock and move heavy objects in front.

::Shibboleth walks away whistling

Epimetheus, next time mad Dr. Scylla tries to take over the world, he’d better pick you as his chief henchthing! You’re saving his bacon here!

#11) Nope. I’m fine with the 7.65mm answer. But there’s still
#6) Oops…but you got it. I had to memorize it in High School. Obviously it’s been too many years.

#16) Yes

Fenris

So Fenris, I haven’t really been paying attention. How many questions are left unanswered?

[sub]Another meaningless post, brought to you by the letter D[/sub]

#1) Correct, although there seems to be some dispute about Kobe’s first name. Since FoodTV agrees with you (Fuji TV doesn’t, per the Iron Chef book), I’ll accept the answer.

#4) Correct. I was looking for J. Thunder. I’ll ignore all the extra people you included, out of the goodness of my heart (some of 'em weren’t created for decades after All Star #3 (Power Girl, for one didn’t appear 'till All-Star #58 (1976-ish), Commander Steel was 1977-ish (and wasn’t a commander when he first appeared) and Capt. Marvel was from an entirely seperate company at the time). But hey. I’m the good guy…I’ll let it go. :slight_smile:

Fenris

Aww shucks, I’d do the same for you. (I missed the thread in which he put you up to death)

Ahh, I would guess the .45 ACP would be wrong, since it is a PROTOTYPE it would not have been made in factories. DOH. I should have thought of that.

Nope, the .45 was fine too. I expected that to be the one that no one got. Let’s go at this from the other direction. I’m not aware of a .22 Magnum ever being used in a Luger and certainly not from the factory. If there was, show me!

Fenris

I keep running across mention of a “Luger in .22 magnum caliber”, and it is why I put it on. I cannot find a picture, of an in depth explination, so I will drop the claim of it. However, I found a site where you can download a book about Lugers here: http://users.skynet.be/HL-Editions/ebook/eluger3.htm

In the (?)chapter: John Martz Luger in Caliber .45 ACP,
near the bottom of the page, it says “The Luger in .22” Magnum caliber" I have not downloaded the book yet, but I will later tonight. (have a RP game to go to in about…err, 5 mins ago. Gotta run, I will try to dig up the info later.

Weird. I believe that Luger had a conversion kit for .22 Long Rifle, but…

Ok, It’s time to call a pal o’ mine who knows everything about guns and check.

Ah…apparently John Martz is a guy famous for modifying Lugers. His stuff is apparently wonderfully done, but it’s not factory original! Mystery solved.

Fenris

Epimetheus:

I love you man. My daughter loves you. My wife always beats me at tennis anyway, so she don’t care.

Can I give you a cyberhug?

Fenris:

You have failed. You cannot disuise the fear in your eyes, as you realize I have survived your savage onlaught and the next kick in the groin in this deadly Rochambo is mine

To those who sought to oppose me:

FOOLS!! I’LL DESTROY YOU ALL!!
