I’m so happy that my little sis and bro-in-law have moved someplace where they can get a decent Dopefest together; Those years in MIA must have been really frustrating.
I wish I could be there, but you’re just a little out of my way and coincidentally the “Edward the Head Bon Voyage Barbecue” Dopefest will be going on at exactly the same time just a few blocks away from my house. So we’ll toast the ATL Dopers who are fortunate to have acquired one of our most celebrated ex-pat MADs (if I do say so myself) and her lucky husband.
Thanks to all who came, we had a great time getting to know some of you for the first time, and getting to know a few more a little better! Some of my photos turned out utterly horrible, but we will post the decent ones.

Just got home and wanted to post and thank the GeoBills for hosting that little shindig last night. I too had a wonderful time and it was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Best wishes and much success to GMRYujin and his Morelin on their new venture in North Carolina. I helped myself to a couple of items from your boxes, yuje, and I will think about you whenever I watch/read them.
Torie, glad you made it home okay, and thanks for coming all the way from South Carolina to see us. I loved your “movie reviews”. (“The hobbit that cried all the way through LOTR”, and your telling of cracking up during a certain scene in the first movie still make me chuckle!)
Enjoyed seeing my friend Archergal and her husband Robert as well. (Let’s see, did I score, like three hugs from you last night, Janice?

After I left last night, I stopped for a nightcap at C’est Bon, a Cajun restaurant near my motel, and got invited to “sit in” on the drums for a couple of numbers, so it was the perfect ending to a wonderful evening for me.

Thanks for having us over! I enjoyed the evening very much. It was great to meet Anaxagoras, Fiver (sorry about the sideways flush comment, Fiver), Torie, and JackaRoe. I sure hate that GMRyujin and Morelin are leaving the area, but I’m glad they’ll still be online and around somewhere. That way, when they’re rich and famous, I can say “I knew them when…”

Thanks for hosting the Dope Fest Uncle Bill and GeoBabe. I really enjoyed meeting real dopers. The conversation was very interesting, esp the “underpants” thread.

I woke up this morning feeling hung over despite having had nothing to drink. It was delightful having you all, and I’m glad we had such a good turnout! Great meeting you or seeing again, as the case may be.
