Had to make a Jungle order. One of my corn on the cob trays broke in half tonight, and my water jug went onto the conveyor system on Saturday. Considering I bought both in the 20th Century I don’t feel too bad about replacing them.
What’s a corn on the cob tray?
A little tray to hold your ear of corn, so you can roll it around in the butter.
Check your link. The current one goes to some sort of beer growler.
AWWW thanks for all the anniversary congrats. My heart cockles are all warm.
gotti hope things go well at the shiny new horsepistol. The backsplash for PWAISDN sounds cool. Bet it looks great.
MOOOOOOM yay on the re-fi! Hope RoxStar is feelin’ better.
{{{Butters}}} I know you have a lot to go through. Wishin’ you continued peace and comfort.
sair Echo is a hoot! Go get 'em girl! Hope the Siamese kitty is OK.
doggio what QuietOne said. Also, the ability to roll corn on the cob around in N.O.B. has never been a problem for me. It sounds like a problem the folks in TV World would have. You know, the folks that can’t bake N.O.T., hang their clothes up, cook aigs, and walk and chew gum at the same time.
I slather the corn with butter before cooking it.
That’s probably the demolished water jug. Or, knowing what brown can do, it’s probably on it way to Berlin.
How do you cook it? I’m an old-school boiler, so guessing you use one of those fancy so-fis-ta-ma-kay-ted microwave oven things? I have tried corn in the nuker and never been excited about the result, mainly because it seems to merely shift de-stringing the corn from before to after cooking, and then it’s hot. Ow!
I’ve got a handful of corn trays and handles. If I want anything on my corn, it’s just enough butter to moisten it and PWAISDN likes to drown his corn after sprinkling salt and pepper on the butter.
Funny thing is for as old-time basic as I am with cooking corn, I do my hard boiled aigs in a spiffy space-age smart phone controlled sous vide cooker.
Slather it with butter, wrap it in foil, and throw it on the barbie.
TVCTPMO was in fine Moanday form today. Amazingly, commute went decently. It says sad things about our local transit “system” that buses bothering to show up somewhere near schedule is getting to be a noteworthy event.
Callers were nasty, snotty, and rude. Didn’t get cussed out or personally insulted, but they were really obnoxious. “Front end” morons kept transferring calls to totally wrong queues, which is a pain.
I need to remember to NEVER use the really ghetto WalMart in my area. I would have had to wait in a 10+ minute line to buy a 4-pack of D-cells in electronics, then deal with my grocery purchases at another register. HahahaNO. Batteries (for two Maglites DH scored at the thrift store he currently irks at) were procured elsewhere. Bad enough that “express” was something like a 5 minute wait, and I’d used Scan&Go! (Told the nice attendant they really should designate a register or two specifically FOR S&G, got a blank look.) Also had the “joy” of listening to a shouting match between an employee and a customer, in the “Customer Service” area.
Slightly overbaked the ready-to-bake chocolate chip cookies, but they’re acceptable.
Well that was fun not. I had asked hubs to give me a sign he’s still around. All our smoke detectors just went off. They are hard wired with a battery backup. I didn’t smell smoke so the dispatcher told me to get out of the house and FD was enroute. I was to stay on the phone with her until they arrived while I was trying to get some clothes on. Stopped for a second and started again and rinse. She and the entire neighborhood heard it so I am not delusional. All the batteries show green and there was no carbon monoxide detected and I was not cooking. Scared the bejesus out of me. Well played hubs. They suggested I get an electrician to change them all out. And add Co2 detectors while doing so. All this at 115 @am. Do they charge for that? No matter, but what a way to awaken. They asked did any of them beep first. No, they did not. I tried to shut off the main breaker but they kept on going very loud. WTF,
Side note BuddyBoy was howling the entire time as I guess it hurt his ears. Hurt mine. Never a dull moment at Chez Butters.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to sort.
Eek, Butters, hope you and BuddyBoy can get some shuteye.
Nah, that’s the whiskey glass I’m buying.
Morning, mumpers!
{{{{{Butters}}}}} nice to know hubs is still around out there but what a way to tell you! I hope you get some sleep and Buddy gets over the trauma too.
Another busy day at irk, being irksome. There is nothing in any of my inboxes that I really want to deal with, and I am getting fed up with whining students now. Half of them are whining that they have not got wholly online teaching, and the rest are whining because they have. Those that chose online teaching also whine because we ask them for complete a form to confirm their choice, and the hardship there is that it’s got two whole questions on it! It’s not even time for elevenses and I am already done with today.
Good morning.
Butters, that’s cool that hubs let you know that he’s with you, but, maybe next time, be a little more specific, and tell him not to make such a to-do about it!
Things are movin’ along, here at the hovel. I’m having my third cup of coffee, and trying to decide what to get into, today. I should make my noodles, for Thanksgiving. Our ‘Thanksgiving’ will be on the 28th, or 29th, depending on when daughter has enough time off to enjoy it. My hubby will be home that weekend, so, we’ll make a day of it, I guess. I’ll be using duck eggs for the noodles. They really make them a bit richer in flavor, I think.
Yesterday evening, I remembered that the property taxes are due soon. REAL soon. Like, tomorrow. So, I got the check made out for that, and went to the post office, and got it in the mail. I’ll probably end up dinged with a late fee, with my luck. My own fault, though.
I also paid the water bill, since I was out, and about. The drop box for the water bills, is right next door to the post office. I’m glad it’s all taken care of. Good grief. Always something. Leave it to me, to wait until the last second to do something!
I hope we all have a decent day.
Apparently, Roxstar is doing better this morning, so I’ll be off to fetch her shortly. I asked Daughter to throw the children’s tylenol in the bag, just in case. Here’s hoping for a good day.
I slept pretty well - crashed early, woke up a little after midnight for bladder drainage, then crashed again till nearly 5. I’m feeling pretty much human. Just finished my toast and I’m caffeinating before heading out.
Our closing docs were all emailed to us - I’m thinking our Book of the Dead will include a thumb drive so I don’t have to print out everything. Tomorrow and Thurs are supposed to be rainy, so I will get a start on adding docs to the book. I’ve put it off for far too long.
Happy Thursday, Mumpers all!!!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 72 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 81 and allegedly rainy this afternoon, tomorrow, and Thursday. We shall see. The big item on today’s agenda is laundry. Also, I did not go pick up my meds yestiddy. I have no reason for this, I just didn’t. So I shall take care of that and while I am at it make a run to Wally*World
for a few much needed items. We shall sup upon leftovers from yestiddy.
Butters YIKES! Hope Buddy Boy and you are over the trauma. Maybe next time ask for a more subtle hint like leavin’ the lid up on the terlet seat.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
FCM, it’s Tuesday!
We could WISH it was Thursday, so more of the week is done with.
Um, I blame autocorrect. Yeah, that’s it.
The kid sure isn’t acting sick. She’s wearing me out!!
