Insomnia sucks. That is all.
I bet you never wanted to do that job in the first place, right?
I bet you wanted to have your best girl by your side, whilst leaping from tree to tree?
Did you, perchance, have a buttered scone whilst out shopping on Wednesday?
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Another long day today.
IANAL*, but I can identify a larch.

And it’s also Gordie’s 9ish birthday today.
**FCD **has some weird dreams when he’s on pain meds. I could tell when he was in REM sleep - he hit me, sorta. He was sleeping on his side facing me and his legs and arms were twitchy, and at one point one arm thrust forward and hit me! I hated to wake him, but not knowing what he was dreaming, I didn’t want to take the chance that he’d hurt me or himself. Poor baby.
He got up way early to watch TV, then he came back to bed a little after 6. So I got up to feed the dog and let him sleep some more. When he’s ready, I’ve got a french toast casserole ready to pop in the oven. Plus today is replace-the-bandage day and I’ll get to see how he’s healing. As will he, since I’ll take some pics. No, I won’t be sharing them.
It’s laundry day and general tidying day. I’m also going to let the pellet stove burn out and cool down so I can empty the ashes and clean the glass. Busy day ahead.
Happy Saturday, all!! And happy birthday, Gordie!
Blurfy snow covered Caturday to you all
Earlier in the week I got a berry mix from the sto’ - strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and mangoes. I know a mango isn’t a berry, but it’s yummy. Today for breakfast, I am having berries buried in greek yogurt. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
eta - Arfy Barkday, Gordie!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 36 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 54 and sunny for the day. This is more like February weather down heah.
Happy Birthday Gordie! Scritches from Uncle swampy.
Not a whole lot in store for the day. I do need to make some coleslaw (it was requested) and a gallon each of sweet and unsweet tea to take to the church house tomorrow for Brunch Sunday. It bein’ Stupor Bowl Sunday and all, we’re doin’ the “Souper Bowl of Caring” thing. We do a chili cook off, which I am not enterin’, and folks either give a monetary contribution or bring cans of soup and/or other stuff with all donations goin’ to Neighbors In Need a local charity that provides food, clothin’ etc to those in need. Chili entries are judged and a winner is announced. Always a good time for a good cause. Our judge is a retired Deacon and a really good friend. We’ve cooked up a deal, where I serve as Bailiff and do this proclamation and introduce the Honorable Judge. After all, if one is to do this, it should be done in style.
Plus, I have ush duty.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. After that, it’s slaw and tea makin’ along with some purtification at some point.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
I went WAY off of my diet last night, Friday, but I had a good excuse.
See, next Wednesday is Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent. At my church there is a party, a wine tasting, the Friday before. It’s a lot of fun, we’ve been doing it for eight years now. Folks bring a bottle of wine and some sort of munchy. After much nibbling and sipping there is a vote for favorite wine and favorite food. This year the wine category got two prizes, one for red and one for white, an innovation I think was a good idea. The winner of the red wine category has their beverage as the Communion wine tomorrow. Just one Sunday, but still fun.
I don’t know squat about wine but I just picked two I liked. Neither of them won. In the food category, the winner was a Muenster cheese turnover wrapped in butter filo pastry, made by yours truly. It;s kind of embarrassing, because this is the third year in a row I’ve won. Last year I did spanakopita, a Greek munchy in filo, and the year before that I did baklava. Since a prize is involved, a gift card, I’m thinking I should not compete next year. This year I actually thought another item would win. One person brought this dip called Cajun Shrimp and Crab Dip and it was heavenly, Nice chunks of seafood in a slightly spicy sauce that was so nummy.
This morning I’m back at church for a women’s group meeting then my day is free. The house is clean, I think after I take the dog out I’ll watch DVD movies the rest of the day. Haven’t vegged out in a long time.
Happy Saturday!
Looks like the sun is shining. According to my phone it’s 30 degrees outside with a high of 43 today.
It’s going to be a busy day I think. I need to do some cleaning. I also need to irk, we have been busy and it’s good to get the money while the getting is good.
OAOASO is coming over to tomorrow to help out with some things.
Happy BD to Gordie, today is my mother’s birthday too. I have to call her later.
Sah-son was lazy yesterday, he slept all day and all night too. He has lots of school work to do, plus I’m going to make him help out around here.
Time to get up and get moving, I need some breakfast.
Been a productive morning here. I baked, then we ingested, the french toast casserole. I’ve showered and dressed. **FCD **showered and I changed his bandage, then he dressed. I’ve scooped the cat box, hauled, sorted, and started the laundry, cleaned and refilled the pellet stove, run the vacuum in the traffic areas and, um, well, I’m sweating so I think that’s enough for now.
I’m going to run to CVS because they have Coke products at 5/$15 and we’re almost out of Diet Coke - the horrors!!! I’ve got a few more minor chores, but the laundry is the only biggie remaining today. I think. We shall see.
A nap is definitely on the agenda for today. I only got two (non-consecutive) hours of sleep last night.
Some asshole kept calling my on my house phone this morning. Finally I answered it because it gets annoying. Another damn bill collector calling for the bitch who used to have this number and it’s the same damn collection agency that has called multiple times before only to be told ‘the cunt doesn’t live here’. Then the bitch on the phone denied that they ever called here before (lie), and she wanted me to give her the dates and times of their previous calls - like I am going to pull up those records for her convenience. She is sorry they disturbed me (lie) and it is not their intention to annoy people (lie) or call wrong numbers. She said she would remove my number from the system (lie).
I’ve never heard so many damn lies in one conversation before in my life.
My mother called, she got her flowers and is happy with them. She’s going out with the HFH and the nieces, so not a big deal we couldn’t go there today anyway.
Now she’s talking about moving to the senior place again. Why is there no frustrated smilie? One can only imagine the pathways that tangle together in her mind.
Happy birthday Gordie!
It’s shaping up to be a quiet Saturday here with only laundry and grocery shopping on the to do list.
How are you at not being seen?
[sub][sub]Notice that I picked an appropriate response that involved explosions?[/sub][/sub]
HAPPY BIRTHDAY POOCHIE-KINS!!!
I have made slaw, the two gallons of tea, made a sallit for tonight’s dindin, had N.O.L. (beef-veggie soup and grilled cheese sammich), put some N.O.T. in the slow cooker (drizzle olive oil on N.O.T., rub in some Kosher salt, wrap and foil, cook on high for five-six hours), and washed and dried a load of whites. I say that’s enough activity for one day.
Oh, and steaks are marinatin’ for dindin.
Happy Sah-mom birthday!
CupCakes don’t stop enterin’. Is it your fault folks know what the best stuff tastes like?
I got my mega-stash of diet cokes from CVS, then ran by Food Lion to fulfill FCD’s request for medicinal ice cream (apparently Tin Roof Sundae is medicinal) with a final stop at Wendy’s for a large medicinal chili. He’s napping. I just put the sheets in the dryer, but that’s all the laundry I’m doing - since he hardly worked this week and since I tend to wear my jeans twice, there’s hardly any dirties. I’ll wash on Firday since I’ll be off anyway.
That leaves me with a free afternoon. I suppose I could start on my nephew’s hockey-rink afghan.
Made myself useless all morning (heck, it’s afternoon already!?!?!), watching English League soccer and did clean up the kitchen (a bit). Will dress here in a bit and go get my hair cut (happens about every 3 months) and see what else is up.
Have 7-human years B-day Gordie.
ruble, they can’t see me because I am in my pantomime horse costume.
FCM, glad to hear FCD is doing better.
First round of Chemo Plan #2 is in. Now to see if it works. It was another long-ass day at the hospital. Got there at 7:30 am, left at 2:15 AM.
Still waiting on pins and needles to see if Social Security goes through so DH can get the stem cell transplant, which would be in April or so.
Chicken curry for dinner and an early bedtime. Running on four hours sleep and coffee…
I have started treatments with a Transcranial Magnetic Pulse machine for my migraines. Charge the machine; hold it up to head; press button. Loud clicking noise. Repeat. So far, it’s only good for scaring the cats, as far as I can tell.
So MooooMMM, how are you today?
This is why I need to stay away from FB.
Friend’s daughter posts some little cutesy asking if you would give up a meal so your dog could eat.
I so want to post - Why? You didn’t give up the needle so your daughter could be born drug free?
This is the kind of snark I hold in every day.
She told her mother she wants me to come out to see her and the baby.
Believe me. No, she doesn’t.
