Today’s plans include deheathenization with ush duty, playin’ bailiff durin’ first Sunday brunch, a trip to :eek:Wally*World:eek: to buy some stuff for JDD’s brother such as sweat pants, sweat shirts, pullover shirts, pajama pants (that’s what I call those thin loungin’ type pants with the elastic waist), and socks, things JDD said he could use, and then a visit to JDD’s brother. This should keep us occupied and out of trouble for a good part of the day.
ruble one of the Shrove Tuesday activities involves YP and the kiddos burnin’ the palms from last Palm Sunday to use as ashes on Ash Wednesday. This especially excites the boys cause they get to play with fire, which is, of course every boy’s dream.
OK, that’s all I got for now. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then purtification for deheathenization must ensue.
Cat box has been scooped. Kitchen and bathroom trash has gone out to the garage. **FCD **has showered and been rebandaged and breakfasted. I still need to empty the dishwasher and it’s about time for some lunch for me - considering I had breakfast over 5 hours ago…
**BLURF **. Chilly here this morning. Been up, showered,back lying down plied up with the dog trying to stay warm. Need to get moving and figure out something to cook today and maybe do a little laundry and organize some outfits for the coming week.
I could just go back to sleep but then I would not sleep well tonight and the pattern starts.
Up caffeinating, breakfasting but sti in my jammies.
Today I’ll be getting meals ready to take to irk next week, putting together snacks for the superbowl party, going back to Kroger for the things I forgot last night :smack: and going to said superbowl/birthday party. Better get rolling.
We’ll have poke roast on the rotisserie for supper. Right now, it’s marinating in some BBQ sauce (Sonny’s sweet.) Plenty of time to decide what sides we’ll have.
Dishwasher is emptied and refilling has begun. I still need lunch. Guess I’ll forage.
Holy crap on a cracker - over $2K to have 2 dead trees downed (no cleanup required) and 2 stumps ground. I’ve got emails to 2 other companies for estimates. We’ve used this one company in the past, but I don’t recall his prices seeming quite this high. I wouldn’t care about the trees except that they’re very near the side road and some of the branches could possibly fall on the road, cars, or passersby. I don’t need a lawsuit.
Hope the 2 other companies I contacted get back to me quickly. I’d like to make a decision on this before next weekend.
The second best part of today; the first being gun club elections. Our club being very heavily represented by Democrats elections are always Super Bowl Sunday so everyone has multiple reasons to drink and party. This way everyone turns out to drink heavily, vote often and watch sports which means a festive atmosphere. And some silly results now and then.
Back when Muvver was still alive we had to go around a grand for one tree but it was in a tricky position right near the house and was a seriously large buckeye tree. We did go for grinding and removal though.
Alive! Er, I mean, awake! Slept with ear plugs in last night. No particular reason. It was awesome. I slept like a log.
Kid 2 is awake. Kid 1 is stubbornly ignoring my slow escalation. The lights are on. The heater is on. I have fed her dog (next to her bed - oh the crunching and the munching). Next step - cat! Maybe all the cats!
Once all family members are awake, it’s off to Betsy’s and brunch.
Later today, we shall be taking my mother to see Star Wars. She wants to see it and my father prefers to wait until something is released to DVD and watch it at my house. :rolleyes:
Other than getting Kid 1 organized for school that is All The Plans. Except for laundry. There is always laundry. :mad:
**kopek **- that’s what I don’t get - the dead trees are way away from the house, but close to the fence on the street side, so getting their equipment really close will be easy. They don’t have to remove anything or grind those stumps. We’ll see what the other 2 companies say. For all I know, this guy will come in cheapest…
Coffee and pineapple have been consumed. Laundry is drying. I’m about to divvy up chores to my sons. It’s a sluggish day for me so far. I think the lack of sleep all week is catching up to me. Last night’s 6 hours were apparently not enough to make up for the deficit. Up next: ibuprofen and retail therapy.
I made a pot of veggie beef soup and cornbread. That is really all I have done all day.
One of my colleagues dog had three tiny little puppies and only one survived. She did not even know the dog was expecting til last week. The mother dog doesn’t have any milk yet so my friend is off to buy puppy formula and a bottle to try to save it. Poor girl. I know she is traumatized. The vet told her she must somehow feed the puppy. Good thoughts appreciated. It is a little female chihuahua/mini pen mix.
Howdy Y’all! It’s been a whirlwind of a Sunday what with deheathenization, ush duty, N.O.L., the trip to :eek:WALLY*WORLD:eek:, and goin’ to see JDD’s brother at the hospice house. I am always amazed of the niceness of the hospice house every time I go there. The place is really beautiful and staff are all so nice. JDD’s brother says he’s bein’ treated like royalty. Glad he’s in a good place and will be in another good place at least as far as nursin’ homes go. The one he will be goin’ to is not too shabby.
I sampled a bunch of different chili recipes today. I managed to make it through five of the ten. The HAWG, AKA OYKW sampled all ten. Plus, the slaw I took got all et up which makes me glad. A good time was had by all. I must report no later than four p.m. on Tuesday to get stuff prepped and cooked for Shrove Tuesday pancakes, snausage, and bacon. I always have a lot of fun with that so there I shall be.
I’s tahrd and my right knee, the one I managed to bruise when I slipped in the garage Thursday mornin’, hurts from standin’ a long time today. Thus most of the balance of the day will be spent with said knee in rest position.
She will beat up all the chihuahua guys who make passes at her.
