Awarding the MMP

Had a nice nap, Sah-son was using the computer anyway for his math pre test.
Have I said before that I don’t like his math professor?
I think she is crazy, this week he had two quizzes due yesterday, a pre test due today, a major test and assignment due tomorrow, another assignment due Saturday and another big-ass homework due Sunday. Each one of these can take 2-3 hours - or more - to complete. Last week’s ‘treasure hunt’ took him 4 hours, and IMO was a waste of time. The final part was he had to go out, read the answers and indicate that he read them. The catch was - she changed some of the questions, so if you said you read and understood the answers she knew you hadn’t and you got a zero for the assignment. He caught it but wasn’t going to say anything because he feels like it is disrespectful to point out her mistakes. I told him he damn well better point them out, and I’m not surprised she did it.

She should be happy I am not taking her class. Damned if I’d put up with her hand-holding and childish bullshit.

I’d fail anyway - one of his questions, I can’t believe he asked me for help.

Bob’s job compensates him for his work related mileage. On Moonday he drove for 4 hours at 50 mph on the highway and 30 mph through the towns. If he drive 5 times longer on the highway than through the towns, how many miles did he drive?

My answer - if Bob wasn’t such a dumb ass he’d have reset his trip odometer and this question would be moot. What kind of moron drives 5 mph under the speed limit on the highway (and I hope he was in the right lane) and 5 mph over the speed limit through town. What about time spent at red-lights and stop signs, or did he just breeze right on through those with no thought of public safety? Wouldn’t it be easier to go out to Google directions and plug in address A and address B and let Google calculate the mileage? This is why we have technology.

I just flipped out some dumb ass caller. I answered the phone ‘Satan’s Temple’. She asked for me by name and I told her she had the wrong number. She asked for the homeowner and I said this isn’t a home, this is a Temple, Satan’s Temple. She started stumbling all over herself and apologized and said she would never call again. Cool by me. Maybe next time I will be the House of Pain, and what is your pleasure? I used to answer phones for a dominatrix, I’m sure I could come up with some nice suggestions.

Sari. My phone is in my husbands name and I repeatedly get calls for him from a CA phone number. I know it is a salesman or something not legitimate so now I just tell him he has the wrong number. You should hear his confusion. Eventually he will give up I hope. It should not be legal to call cell numbers anyway.

Home for a while now. Just don’t feel good. Tired, achy and irritable.

Has anyone heard from Fairychat?

HOME! For some reason, my tablet forgot my Dope signin, and I couldn’t remember my password, so I just posted a couple of updates in FB.

Anyway, thanks for asking, flytrap, all went well. The biggest hassle was that they kept him in recovery extra long because they didn’t have a room ready. It was after 5 when they moved him to the surgical floor. While I was there and before I hijacked a nurse to come hook up the compression thingie on his legs, I helped him sit up, then stand up. I gave him ice chips, I tried to untangle some of the lines running from machines to him, and I made him breathe deeply to keep his blood oxygen levels up. He was sitting up and eating when I left, and his pain seemed to be well-controlled. Poor Anita the nurse was frazzled, but she was almost at the end of her shift, so that was good.

I’ll head back there early tomorrow - as long as he shows he can walk around OK and pee, he’ll be allowed to leave. Here’s hoping that’ll happen early.

Poor Higgs was in a state when I came home. She kept running around the car looking for her daddy. But she’s been fed and she’s chilling. I just finished some leftover stew and I’m starting to unwind. I wish I’d stopped for something dessert-like - I’ve got a craving. But I’m too tired to go out again. I foresee an early bedtime.

Anyway, things are good - now I just need to keep my sweetie from overdoing anything for the next 2-3 weeks. That will be the challenge.

Howdy Y’all! We et dindin and then decided to go to Evening Prayer over to the church house. We almost didn’t cause it was rainy and icky out but we went anyway. I’m glad cause it was a nice service tonight.

flytrap the last thing I heard was FCD was in recovery and she was waitin’ to go see him. Hopefully by now he’s all settled in a room, but one never knows with horsepistols.

Now I shall go snoop a couple other things on teh intartoobz and then call it a night.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

ETA: What MOOOOOOM said.

Time to watch a little TV before crashing. MWAH!

My First Wife and I have continued to be friends, Mrs. Plant (v.1.0) picked up Mrs. Plant (v.2.0) at the airport one time.
But I digress.
They were both in my hospital room when I had a joint replacement due to ankylosing spondilitis, how ever one spells it.
A nurse threatened me with a catheter if I didn’t pee, so I stood up and tried.
I realized that I had my penis in my hand in front of two Mrs. Plants.
Morphine is good stuff.
:dubious:

Another long day, but I had a cashier all day, so I got stuff done. Another one tomorrow.

I know sausage isn’t bacon, but why the hate?

 Just when I thought you couldn’t be more awesome.

Glad Dad is doing OK, Mooommmmm!!!.

Feel better, Butters!

I already said why but not in real detail. My family did a lot of farming over the generations. A close friend whose brother married one of my cousins got thrown from a piece of equipment when a tire hit a chuck-hole and was killed; tomato planter and he went under the blades. A cousin was badly injured when he rolled a tractor in a chuck-hole. I had a close call myself; closer than I care to remember. So for us, on our land, groundhog season is 24/7/365 and screw the limits.

I don’t mind people who like them or folks like Sunny who think they are cute. I think that relative of theirs featured on the nature shows was cute as well — on my TV screen. But once they hit the PA border ------ all bets are off.

Not as much as potting one with a .300H&H would. Or better yet a .460Weatherby. Air strikes are not out of the question. Napalm? But all those are Good Things. :stuck_out_tongue:

Grrrr. Hot water conked out, which we discovered after the office closed for the night, so I need to call maintenance in the morning (office opens about half an hour after I start work, but I think I can get away with ducking out briefly to make that call). DH won’t be home until after 3pm, I won’t be home until after 10pm.

So much for sleeping in, even a little. Taz was jumping on the door right about our regular wake-up time. I let him in hoping he’d lie down and we could snooze a bit, but then Higgs started up. Dog has been out and been fed, I’ve managed to brush my teeth (ick- morning mouth) and I still need to clean the cat box. The tablet is plugged in to charge. I need to grab my phone and do the same with it.

I figure on hitting the shower in about an hour, then heading over to the hospital, with a stop at WaWa to get my sweetie a fountain soda to start his day. With luck, they can discharge him before 9. I’ll need to take a look at his dressing and possibly buy some more supplies - maybe I can just get away with great big bandaids. The incision is so much smaller than the others. But I don’t need to change the dressing till Saturday, so that’s easy enough.

Thus beginneth my day. Happy Thursday.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 54 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 55 and rain this mornin’ becomin’ sunny this afternoon. After that, we’ll have lows in the high 30s and highs in the 50s for a few days. That is more like temps for February. As doggio says, “weather by Sybil.”

MOOOOOM hope everything goes well and FCD gets sprung early. I’m sure that big 'ol fountain soda will cause peeage ensues.

OK, that’s all I got. More caffeine is needed and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Le sigh.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

I’m going to have to borrow a heavy-duty fan from the maintenance guys at irk to dry out my carpet. :frowning:

OK, now I know the weather is nuts. The thermometer showed nearly 60° when I let Higgs out to pee. I just looked at my fave weather site and it says there’s a chance of snow tonight.

I am not amused. At all.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Another long day.

Yes, but are you kempt as well?

I has a blurf

Moooom, as I said on Facebook, glad to hear FCD is doing well.

Flytrap, FCM, since you mentioned catheters…I remember having one when I woke up from having my gall bladder out–they removed it while I was awake and that is a…funky…feeling. When I hadn’t peed in a few hours, they said if I didn’t they’d have to put the catheter back in. I had no trouble peeing (without witnesses) a few minutes later…amazing what a little motivation will do.

Seanette, hope the water gets fixed, hot water is a mark of civilization, IMHO.

Rose you ever not have a blurf?

Oh, BTW, Blurf.

Happy Thorsday!

Well, no it isn’t but that is a whole nother story.
Some people never learn and that includes me.

It’s a cloudy 39 degrees supposed to get up to 46. We’ll see, we did have snow last night but nothing that hung around.

Today is take Sah-son to the college for his test day, tomorrow we go out for groceries. We are supposed to get more snow on Toosday and we will be prepared.

His math professor sent him a nice email saying how happy she is he is doing so well in her class, especially after she had had doubts about him in the orientation. That was nice of her.

Glad all went well for** FCD** and he is coming home.

Doggio - I learned more than anybody needs to know on those calls.
I also wish I could make that kind of money - but not my thing. There’s kinky, and there’s kinky, and then there is downright crazy dangerous.
Especially in an election year.

Glad everything went well with FCD. Sending good walking and peeing thoughts so he can go home!

Husband is leaving on an outing for Scouts, and won’t be home until Sunday. These events are a bit of a sore subject. The man simply cannot say no when he is asked to volunteer for stuff like this. I’m feeling grumpy about the whole thing. Hmph!

I’m awake but I refuse to be alert. Just too gloomy of a day around here. Cold, dark, damp.

Continuing the good wishes for FCD and anyone else who needs them.
