Back in the office in the MMP

It is pouring rain. I cannot even remember the last time it rained. Yay.

This will put that pesky fire out once and for all.

I’ve been known to say “He’s pretty” to describe guys who may be cute but smart as a lemon.

Headlights… Oy! Back when headlights were huge glass lumps that you could change without raising the hood, that was a good thing as they seemed to last only one year and could tell when it was raining and time to burn out. Now, the little bulbs last for years so some acrobatics can be excused. On my car, the headlights are accessible from above but removing the air filter or battery may provide more room for hands.

Perversely, our ginormous pickup was built so it was necessary to reach in from the wheel wells to blindly flail around with a screwdriver to back out a screw that held in the whole light assembly so it could be slid forward, exposing the bulb retainers.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 51 Amurrkin out and clear (I see stars!) with a predicted high of 81 and N.O.S. for the day. Plans for the day include futzin’ with the cee-mint pond (saline content and all that which should be fine), a trip to :eek:Wally*World:eek:, and N.O.L. whilst we are about. Other than that sloth shall ensue.

Just in case she has not done this yet…

NUTS, DON’T FORGET TO BUY A REPLACEMENT HEADLIGHT!!!

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then purtification must commence and onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Doing a double today.

Nut, don’t forget to go to the headlight shop!

Which is why I didn’t mention turn signals - DUH!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

The don’t-touch-with-your-fingers also applies when changing the halogen tubes in outdoor lights. I never thought to put on gloves, tho - I always used a paper towel or tissue… :smack:

Sorta slept in. I’m about to toss all the living room afghans in the washer so they can hang out to dry. Back to good ol’ clothesline days! At least today, since it’s not rainy.

Happy Saturday!!

Flytrap, Ruble wanted me to let you know you’re absolutely gorgeous!!!
…& now this important announcement:
Nuts, get a new headlight!!!
Now off to shoot*…people…in the fog.

  • photos & video

Where did the sun and blue skies go?? I went to hang the first load on the line, and it FOGGY!! Dammit!!!

Not amused. At all…

Everyone can stop panicking, I got a new bulb.

As usually happens when I try to do anything on my car in public, I got as far as popping the bonnet open when a passing guy appeared out of nowhere, asked if I was OK and ‘gave me a hand’. So… didn’t pay, but didn’t change it myself either.

I apparently have the magical ability to summon helpful guys with moustaches and toolkits.

**Nut **- after all, you’re just a *girl *and you can’t *possibly *know about cars 'n stuff like that.

Three loads on the lines, last in the washer, and the fog is just about burned off. Once things dry out a bit, I can mow the ditch and start raking out the flower bed by the porch. Meanwhile, I waste time…

We went for a McBreakfast and then went to :eek:Wally*World:eek:. We survived and are now back in da cave. Rumors of nappage abound.

Laundry is done, well, except for drying and being brought in, folded, and put away. Critter fountain is clean. And as soon as **FCD **is ready, we’re going to get lunch.

When we get back, I’ll mow. rah.

We didn’t go out for lunch after all. **FCD **is napping. I just finished ditch mowage, and I’m cooling down with some lemonade. In a while, I’ll drag the wagon out and pick up all the branches that have fallen in the front yard.

I’m way too sweaty for a mere 74° outside!

54 Amurkin degrees out and cloudy. I thought it was supposed to rain, but it isn’t. Shortly we shall head to the donut store and see if anything is left. Today shall be laundry and setting up a second cat box. The excitement is palpable.

ETA: Nut congrats on getting the headlight changed.

Happy Saturday!

It’s a beautiful day, windows are open and curtains are gently fluttering in the breeze.

All of Sah-son’s finals are done YEAH! and he got A’s on all of them.
One more assignment to turn in by Monday and he is done til fall.

I should be doing something outside, the yard is a mess, but I’m not.
I should be doing something inside, the house is a mess, but I’m not.

I think I would like to be called Grandmama Butters. Makes me think of the Addam’s Family.
If my son takes as long to have a kid as I did, I’ll be 76 before I have a grandchild.

I feel like I need a nap.

We achieved nappage and had a nosh of pizza rolls. Don’t judge! Any suppin’ will be via forage.

Whoo.

Been at the soccer fields for 6 hours (8am-2pm). Refereed two games and coached two games. Temperature went from 54F to 76F during that time, without a cloud in the sky.

Managed to get home and found (due to the Mexican Hat dance playing in the back of my car) that I had picked up the wrong equipment bag and had another coaches’ stuff. so had to go back to the field (did I mention it was a 5-6 minute walk up a hill from the parking lot?) before I could get home with my Double Whopper and Cherry Kool-Aid feast.

Red, the concrete job cost over 2 grand, so I’m not about to mess it up. Still want to download pictures to facebook, but my camera/computer interface is being troublesome.

Nut, I’m glad to see that you rely on the kindness of strangers…

In rest mode for the rest of the day. Saving myself up for lawn mowage tomorrow.

Laundry is in and stowed, and the meatloaf is baking. We got up to 80-ish today, but it’s starting to cloud over. A cold front is supposed to come thru and there’s a 30% chance of rain.

I didn’t pick up any branches, but tomorrow’s supposed to be nice, if cool, so I may try to do it then. I make no promises.

Moooooom, my sister’s pet snarky phrase is At least she’s pretty. Usually it indicates the IQ of a bowling ball.

nut, as much of a femnist as I am, anytime a guy wants to volunteer to do a job I don’t want to do myself like that, I tend to let him.

We had a good trip to the safari park today. My favorites were the ostriches, emus and camals, although all of the critters were beautiful. I guess I’m just a sucker for a critter who will eat from my hand. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nelson was happy to see me when I got home. Jake said he was a little scared when he came into the apartment without me and peed down his shirt when he picked him up. Fortunately, he had some clean clothes in the car. He said that he and Copper played for about an hour, so there was some social time there too.

What does it mean, “camals” and “peed down his shirt”?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 55 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 79 and N.O.S. for the day. The big plan of the day is deheathenization (I have ush duty) followed by a <snerk>Quickie! <snerk> N.O.L. We shall then return to da cave for chill time. This evenin’ we shall sup on burgers and fries. Looks like a good day ahead.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!
