Well, the roads down here don’t seem too bad either - they even plowed the parking lot for once. But, of course, in true Washingtonian spirit, I decided it was just “too risky” to drive the mile and a half down the road to the metro station

So I’m still in.

Bluesman and I will be there!

No, Bluesman hasn’t suddenly developed a split personality…above post by me, obviously.

Well, it will be nice to see all 3 of you  But since you have an obvious advantage for the 3-legged race, I’m going to respectfully request that you recuse yourself from that event.

Alrighty folks, reservations are for nine people at 8PM, name of Cecil Adams, yadda yadda.

Here’s who’s on the list in, in no particular order:
panache
GingerOfTheNorth
Weirddave
Wendall Wagner
RTFirefly
TeleTronOne
Lucretia
Bluesman
Kieth Barry

I’m leaving myself off because I figure that since I’m coming late someone might leave and I can just squeeze into the table. For anybody who is not on the list, that’s because they never put themselves down as a possible or definite, so if you want to go, and you’re not in the above list, please call the Ram’s Head and increase the party size. The number is in the link in my OP.

And let me mention one thing about parking: you can park up on the street next to the main parking lot, and in a pinch you can follow the street to parking in the back and, IIRC, walk through the Mill to the Ram’s Head.

Don’t worry, we’ll bring chocolate to soften the blow(s).

Roads are fine, spouse is in Florida, see you all tonight.

Tell the truth now - she planned to be away for this, din’t she? Huh? HUH?

I’ll probably put in an appearance, but most likely not to eat. I guess I’ll still call them, but this is the first chance I’ve had all day… :frowning:

We’re home, and nobody died on the way.

I had a great time- except for the whole dishwasher dying incident. Other than that, it was great!

I made it home without anymore death either, although there were a hell of a lot of fire trucks and ambulances on the opposite side of the Wilson bridge on my way back – I’m scared to check the news reports to see what that was all about.

But aside from that, I had a wonderful time and enjoyed meeting everyone.

:frowning: In case anyone was concerned, I made a few wrong turns, then was about halfway home before I remembered we were going to Fridays. Oh well, I was getting tired anyway.

Apart from the sudden staff death, we had a great time. I do reccomend that we call ahead to the next place and inquire into the general health of their employees.

I had a great time, other than the aforementioned incident with the dish washer at the Ram’s Head keeling over. (Dave, do we know that he died? I couldn’t find anything about it on the Web.)

I’m glad I left when I did, much as I hated to abandon such excellent company; I was very tired on the way home, and really cut it closer than I should have.

I know I’m sure glad that Dave drove home, because by the time we were on the Parkway I was seriously dozey.

Good thing I had something with caffeine in it before I left I suppose. Although, to be honest, that Irish Coffee I got at Friday’s was probably about the worst I’ve ever had.

And not to steal the spotlight from all the talk about impaired driving and sudden death, but for anybody who felt like they were missing something because I didn’t want to rant about my Ex, she ticked me off this morning and I had to post a thread about it and thought I’d share it with the group since I know you’re all intensely interested in the sordid affairs of my personal life.

[no dishwashers were harmed in the writing of this message]

Bluesman and I went to a gumbo cookoff in Annapolis today, and the Ram’s Head had a table there. We talked to the people at the table, and they confirmed that the dishwasher had, indeed, died. According to the guy we talked to, it was a heart attack.

In case anyone is interested, his name was Sherman, and he was 52.

Bump for any interested parties who didn’t see this yesterday.

Thanks for the bump, I was poking around to see what ended up happening after I took off. I am very pleased to announce that I have regained my sense of direction (the one I’d thought was lost and gone forever…) and made it home in about 30 minutes. Only to find of course that my neighborhood had 8 cop cars all with sirens on swarming around the 7-11 on my way home. Then one of the cops followed me home, nothing happened, but can we say Twilight Zone??? Strange night all 'round, but good company!

Was it a full moon by any chance???

Lucretia, that’s a bummer about the dishwasher.

panache - Sounds like a too-interesting evening all around. But nope, we’re right around the new moon now.
