Here, dcnewsman asked for our help a few days ago. The only posts to the thread have been from DC, Pun, myself and Falcon. DC and Sqrl are splitting up. These are are friends. I know it’s traumatic that our version of Ozzie and Harriet aren’t together any more, but they need our help. I’ll be there, Pun might, and Falcon would but can’t. How about the rest of you? Nobody has even posted regrets except Falcon. John Corrado? RTF? Olent? Monty? Sofa? Nacho? Althea? Anyone? C’mon, folks, time to prove we aren’t just about dopefests!

I’m posting over at the other thread about helping out. But a word about getting in touch in such circumstances:
These days, quite honestly, I don’t post or even lurk much over here because of how hard it is to get into the board so much of the time. I know that’s not true for everyone, but we’re all going to miss stuff that’s posted here at times because of the sheer difficulty in loading pages.
And when the board is functioning well, a thread that doesn’t get posted to for 3 hours is off the front page of MPSIMS, and nobody sees it.
IOW, when something like this comes up, email is good. It gets through whether the board’s up or not.

It moved off the front page rather quickly, for one. But other than that I don’t see why people didn’t go to it.
I would be definite but I’ve had a trip to the zoo in the works a month ago easily. And I would cancel that but a couple of friends from way out of state (Vermont, I believe) are down and I don’t think I’ll see them for a while. Not that you aked or were complaining. I just realize I may have come off as a bit snobbish in the other thread. “Sorry, dear friend of mine, but I wanna go to the zoo instead!”
Anyway. It seems that a few others have peeked into that thread and seen DC needs help.
I would advise anyone who needs help in the future to post more helpful material, such as where one is, where one is moving, what times are optimal, etc. And email also doesn’t hurt. I’ve no objections to getting email from anyone saying “Hey, are you free this weekend? I need some help”.
Anyway. I’ll try to be there, but I honestly don’t know if I can. I ain’t in charge of drivin’ around.

I realize dc probably didn’t have much control over the timing, however, this is rather an unfortunate weekend for that sort of thing, being Easter weekend and all.
I do hope the move goes smoothly, and that things settle down for everyone soon.
