Anyone who has read my recent thread on seperating with my wife knows my situation. I have found a place to live. The problem is this. I can’t start moving stuff until Sunday. I have been unable to find anyone to help me. Most of my stuff I can do myself, but I am gonna need help with the bed, entertainment center and a few other big items. I really really want to get moved this weekend, so I can start working on the next phase of this. Can any Balto D/C area dopers help me? All I can promise is beer and lots of gratitude. I have a truck. Strong backs are what I need. Anytime Sunday should be fine, I’ll work around what y’all can do. I have already resigned myself to the fact that I’ll have to sacrifice going to the Ravens/Cincy game at Psinet, so my day is flexible. I’m moving from Belcamp ( exit 80 on rt. 95) to Aberdeen(exit 85).
Anyone who can give me a ride that day (that’s in two days time) and a ride back to house, or to metro, or something, and you’re set, Dave. I have a pretty strong back, I think. We have a few DC/Balto dopers around . . . although some of them probably wouldn’t be too useful to you in the area of moving large boxes of heavy stuff.
Email is iampunha@netscape.net and again, if I have a ride there I’d set. John Corrado and Althea, whereabouts do you live? A ride from Metro might be more feasible if there’s a stop nearer your place than Vienna Metro.
iam- I’m only a hop, skip and jump away from the Silver Spring Metro stop (that’s near the end of the Red Line on the Maryland side).
I still need to find out my schedule, and probably won’t know that until tomorrow (GF is back from school this weekend, so I’d like to spend a good bit of time with her; work is asking if I can show up this weekend, and I’d like to do a little brown-nosing to offset the eventual discovery of me doing SD on work time); I’ll e-mail you with final decisions sometime Saturday, or if you’re not sure about your e-mail access over the weekend, e-mail me your phone number and I’ll call you Satuday.
Or someone a little better organized can pick you up.

Hey, if it’s incentive for anyone to show up, come up to help weirddave move and actually meet my girlfriend. That’s right, she’s actually finally going to show up to one of these little gatherings, and I can finally prove to people that she isn’t just a figment of my imagination.
I just talked to weirddave, and it looks like we’re going to try and get together at his place at about noon tomorrow. pun- I sent you an e-mail regarding picking you up; respond in e-mail or a post here or a phone call, but please respond or I’m gonna assume you’ve bailed out/caught another ride.

I did not receive your email, so I sent you one from my work address. You shouldn’t have any problems with this one. I also emailed John, just to be on the safe side. As I told him, my hard drive at home is hosed, so I only have email access at work for today. I’ll be here until six.

Okay . . . after consulting with my mother (phantomdiver) we think it’ll take roughly one hours to get from vienna metro to silver spring metro. http://www.wmata.com seems to confirm this, so I’m figuring we’ll leave (my mother is driving me to Vienna metro to avoid the 1/2 hour walk) around 9:15.
