I’m partial to Country Apple and Green Clover & Aloe. When I first bought the latter, I was like, “Wow, this smells like the great outdoors,” but lately I’m thinking that it smells like scented TP. I don’t really want to inspire someone to say, “Mmmm, you smell like the toilet paper I used to use at my grandma’s house.”
I just smelled Cotton Blossom for the first time this past weekend - very nice!
Got 4 bottles of shower gel for Mother’s Day:
Juniper Breeze
Cucumber Melon
Sheer Freesia
Plumeria
I love them all, but am considering exchanging the Plumeria for a Cotton Blossom, which reminds me of crisp sheets just out of the dryer.
Hubby was questioning whether their stuff is worth the extra cost, and I said yes, yes, yes! The cheaper stuff just isn’t the same quality! Also, I’ve noticed that with the B&B stuff, a little bit does the same job that you’d need twice as much generic for.
I can’t even walk into the store - the scents are overpowering. My daughter has several favorites and she ends up smelling like a fruit salad. I don’t understand the appeal - then again, all the products I use are unscented or very lightly scented.
B7BW used to carry this super concentrated citrus body wash that was called WakeUp or ShoutOut or some thing like that… I haven’t seen it lately… do you know what happened to it?
Oh, and I like the raspberry and keep the ocean breeze one (something like that) around, because the fiancee doesn’t like to smell like a girl. Go figure.
The first scent I ever bought from BBW was Seaspray, and it’s been my favorite scent that I’ve ever bought in any store. They discontinued it a few years back, but they bring it back once a year or so, and I never miss an opportunity to stock up.
I’m really surprised you said that. My opinion of late has been the exact opposite.
I used to buy all of my soaps, shampoos, etc. from Bath & Body Works. It seems like to me that they have drastically cheapened the quality of their products over the past two years.
I went in there less than a month ago. I was out of their BIO shampoo (which I still love) and I wanted to get some vanilla perfume. The only one that they had smelled more of eye-watering alcohol than its intended fragrance. I couldn’t detect the scent of vanilla even after I sprayed it on my arm.
I tried a few more products, and drew back quickly from the acrid smell each time. Thinking maybe my nose was “off” for some reason, I asked my husband to sniff, and his reaction was the same.
What happened? B & B perfumes used to smell lucious, but the bottle of vanilla body spray I bought the next day at a discount store smelled better than the three-times-more-expensive B & B version.
Put in another for Cotton Blossom! I also liked the Pearberry scent, but I haven’t seen it in a while. Warm vanilla sugar is what my roommate uses, and it’s starting to get on my nerves, because EVERYTHING in our bathroom smells like vanilla! It has saturated every inch of the room.
I love Cucumber Melon and White Tea and Ginger. Everything tends to turn out smelling pretty floral on me, though. Must be my body chemistry and the scent will stay on me all day, which I like. My favorite is the scented body shimmer. The tiny glitter stays on all day and feels so silky–perfect for the summer, since it doesn’t really moisturize.
I love Moonlight Path. Bubble bath, shower gel, creamy body wash, body splash, I’ve got it all. I’m a weak, weak individual when faced with the “buy three get one free” promo.
I’m really into their new shea butter stuff. I went a little nuts in there this weekend. I got the body scrub, lotion, and bubble bath. oh, and some shaving cream. but I smell really nice. ::
