Battlestar Galactica 3.8 - "Hero" (spoilers)

I must concur with Levdrakon and others: The Cylons had planned to let Bulldog escape, learn of Adama’s “treachery” and hoped he would kill him.
They left a Radio Shack Walkie-Talkie in the raider, and a book on the hanger deck near it “How Humans May Operate Raiders. Warning! Keep this book out of human reach!”
They knew of Adama’s action either from observation or torturing/Manchurian Candidating Bulldog and or Tigh.
Searching for Earth, they would be more likely to cross paths with the fleet given that the fleet can’t jump far enough to be on the other side of Earth than the basestars.
When they believed themselves to be near to the fleet, they set the plan in motion and D’Anna got too close to Bulldog.

All that being said, the Podcast isn’t up yet, and I cannot help but wonder if Moore and Co. aren’t covering their tracks as quickly as they may.

These continuity problems are really starting to annoy the frak out me also. In the Doc Cottle scene, I thought he was going to simply mention that Bulldog had the antibodies that they just established that the Cylons dont have, not tap into the mysterious fleet database that must have been issued to each battlestar. I mean sure, we all know that each carrier in the US Navy has a copy of the personnel records for the entire military!

I think RDM’s Trek background is starting to push through, and one of the producers better find room soon in the budget for a continuity editor. Bloody hell - how do you sell yourself as a hard sci-fi show, and not have one.

I’ll keep watching though because I love the acting and the characters, even if each episode seems to keep jumping from one alternate universe to another. (Unless Hiro shows up, and we just blame it all on him.) Adama and Roslyn are one of the my favorite couples in all telly-land at the moment. When are they gonna admit it and finally get it on? Oh yeah, sexual tension is only valid if the characters are under thirty - not!!! At least give us a CSI scene where they show them dressing after doing the nasty!

Oh well, I guess part of the fun will be which continuity error they make next week…<sigh>.

Got more of Adama’s dossier put together, if anyone cares.

Moore & Co have a bot that searches boards, counting the times BSG threads use “frak” instead of “fuck”. The higher the incidence of “frak” the higher they believe satisfaction with the episode to be.

 Well, if it just stops you guys from saying “frak”…

One of the good things Voyager did was never have Janeway and Chacotay “drop trou” as Mulgrew phrased it.

“Medal of Distiction” sounds like something a Scout would get. Adama should be getting the Colonial equivalent of the Medal of Honor (okay that doesn’t sound much better), Victoria Cross, or Hero of the Soviet Union. Since Adama joined the military in the middle of the Cylon War he probally joined at the minimum age eligable for military service which would make him about 61-63 and Tigh a few years older. Was in mentioned before that Galatica was his first assignment? Levdrakon, thanks for the records. I wonder if props even bothered put years on the them. Cottle’s access to medical records was a bit too convenient, but don’t know what Colonial data storage capacity is like. Galactica’s computers may not be networked but who knows how much stuff those discs can hold. Perhaps evey ship in the Colonial Fleet really does have the entire military database.

Agreed. I think they were underscoring Roslyn’s ignorance of things military. It was after all her idea. It added to the…what did she call it, “penance”?

Speaking of Cottle I discovered a new ability of his. Teleporting out of a scene.

Towards the end of the episode when Adama is giving Bulldog his uniform and the camera is behind Bulldog’s shoulder looking towards Adama, Cottle is standing next to Adama. An instant later Cottle is gone from the scene. Where’d he go?

No show next week.

I’d hate to have you all turn in and be subject to “Mansquito” or some god-awful Sciffy movie, while you’re still slow from the turkey-tranquilization effect. Er, assuming you’re 'mericans.

Did we ever learn the name of his wife, Apollo’s (and Zak’s) mother? As I recall, it was her family’s connections that got Adama reinstated.

Dammit, I was going to let them post next week, (No Galacticy Goodness tonight!)
And respond, “Gee, they showed it here. Starbuck and Dualla wretling naked…Galen a Cylon…Pegasus returns through a black hole…”

Oh, they’ll never remember by next Friday.

… and your missing an opportunity if you don’t tell them about Dr. Zee squaring off to fight Count Iblis with his super-mind powers. I hear Joss Whedon is writing the episode, too.

I just want to see Tigh whuppin’ some young buck’s ass. Maybe Cottle too.

Whipping the ass of some young buck, you say. Hmm. Considering that the series takes place in space, perhaps the ass of a buck of the stars, as it were, would be appropriate. Some sort of star-buck, if you will.

gaaah! Man, what did I do to you that you had to put the image of Tigh whuppin’ Cottle’s ass into my head!

If you want to talk ass-whuppin’, at least have Six or D’Anna or Boomer or whoever is the Gaylon involved.

Well golly, I saw it on my C-Band satellite antenna…Dulla and Starbuck mud wrestling nude…Tigh beat Helo’s ass, calling him a Cylon Lover…this is gonna work, nobody else on the board has C-Band…who is this Zee fella?

Oh c’mon. the more I think about it, the more match-ups I want to see.

Sharon & Cally! Woo hoo! Sharon pulverizes Cally!

Roslyn and Tori! Who cares who wins!

Tyrol & Helo! Helo laughs while Tyrol spends ten or fifteen minutes working out on Helo’s rock-hard abs!

Gaeta and… um… hm… Gaeta and Dualla? Dualla wins!

Yeah, and what did they do? The hooked up Chakotay and Seven of Nine. “Hey, let’s not risk disrupting the ‘status quo,’ and go with a romantic pairing that’s not only surprising, but that don’t make any sense at all! Yeah, that’s a lot better!” :smack:

So start a “Cottle vs. Tigh” thread.

Can Cottle use drugs as a weapon?
Will Tigh be prepared?
Does drinking make one immune to pain?
Can Cottle get points for being able to treat his own wounds? Can he use his fleet DNA records against Tigh?

Geez, I never even said I wanted to see Tigh vs. Cottle.

Now back to our regularly scheduled carnivorousplant-enforced serious thread.

Here is what I can make out of the rest using the iTunes version:
