I thought that I would just throw this out and see if there were any takers. I don’t expect much interest but WTF!

I am doing an “Orphan’s Thanksgiving” at my house for my friends who don’t have family close by (or don’t wish to SEE their family) or have work constraints preventing them from going somewhere for Thanksgiving.

I’m planning on doing the traditional foodstuffs and just having a relaxing, casual day with some fellow “orphans.”

So, if you’re don’t have anything better to do, come on over! I’ll feed you and you can watch football in surround sound.

Orphan Thanksgivings are pretty much the tradition for Baglady and me. Unfortunately we finally hooked up with one a couple of days ago.

So my second chance is my second pass at finally meeting the enchanting Sue Duhnym. Oh well, some day.

Actually I’m in SJ right now. I’m house sitting. I’m right off Stevens Creek and the Lawrence Exprwy. If you can give me directions, I’ll drive my friend’s car over. And I’ll definetely be there, though I might have to leave early.

You kids have fun. A bunch of us LA based orphans decided to pool our funds and rent a car to head down for the weekend. It is customary in my family for either someone to actually die, or my grandmother to want to watch a video of somebody’s funeral on Thanksgiving. I’m sure you will be having a lot more fun than me that day, but I plan to make up for it over the rest of the weekend.

Sounds tempting, my being an orphan, but a) I live in another country and b) we already had our Thanksgiving Day.

Well, it’s not a Dopefest really, it’s an Orphan’s Thanksgiving. Snooooopy and oldscratch are coming, sure (but so is a couple I know, my daughter’s godfather, my neighbor and her husband…there’s 12 of us so far) so everyone will be strangers, mostly.

That said, you and your friend are more than welcome to come, there’s plenty of room (and food/drink) for more!
