Count me in. I know there’re 5 or 10 other people from the Bay Area on this board, but I can’t remember exactly who. Hope we get some responses. I’d like to attach some faces to some names.
Eh, sure why not. Can we make it somewhere on the BART line, for drinking purposes?
If someone can give me a 200-mile up there, I’ll be there.
If no one minds a 16-year-old chatterbox tagging along, there’s a good chance I could make it. Eh, and one of my lovely parents would probably insist on going, too…

Lanna, of course you can join us. I know of several restaurants/bars downtown that you’d be perfectly welcome at. But your parents? Now that’s pushing it 
Lanna, wait a minute. Your profile says you live in Arcata. So you don’t mind making a 4 1/2 hour trip for an evening get together? Wow, I know that the Eureka area is kinda’ boring, but it can’t be that bad.
If you do it in December, I’ll be there.
We’re moving to San Jose (Willow Glen) and our closing date is December 3rd.
Hello from the center of the city - and a native too! I would like to point out that it’s considered inappropriate to use the phrase Bay Area and the word straight in the same sentence… not that I mind! Evenings or weekends - I am a 9to5 kinda gal. Are we looking for suggestions as to a gathering place?

Heh, can so. Actually, we have family in Mountain View, so we go down there about every other month. If it would be possible to schedule a SD thing during one of those times, that’d be great.
There’s a family reunion thing on the… 14th or 15th of November down there. Anyone up for meeting on Saturday the 13th?

jjtm, no offense but why would you call SF the most beautiful city in the world? I’ve been there on & off for 40 years and it doesn’t fit in a beautiful. Look at the beaches for example, gross. But then I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
So, where ya all want to meet? On Violet or Polk street?
handy, SF is an incredably beautiful city…! I guess you have never driven west on the Bay Bridge at sunset or south on the Golden Gate at sunrise. Hmpfh. People come from all over the world to see our beautiful city.

It was a joke, pooch. I kinda’ thought that’s what a represented. You know, ha ha and all that? I have two kids of my own, thank you, and don’t have any negetivity with myself or anyone else. I’ll explain my jokes better in the future for you, ok?
Sorry Handy, I have to agree that SF is fantastically beautiful. The views from Twin Peaks, the view of the city from the GGNRA, the old Victorians, Golden Gate Park, the incredible cultural diversity of the local neighborhoods…I could go on and on. Then again, if you’re hanging out on Polk Street, then you’re probably not seeing anything worthy of beauty (unless you consider crack, heroin and prostitutes beautiful). And BTW, where is Violet Street? I grew up in SF (lived in the Sunset for 22 years) and can’t say I know what you’re referring to.

True, Ocean Beach makes me nauseous, but we do have more than our share of beauty.
Hell, as long as the timing’s right, anyone wanna see my HS play, Great Expectations, Nov 11-13, 18-20? $10 for adults, and we do do a good job.

Well, if the discussion is going to center around how beautiful the city is then count me out. I’m with the side that thinks it’s a pit. (My theory is that anyone who thinks SF is beautiful has never actually BEEN anywhere else.) But so far Stonestown is maybe the best suggestion because it’s close to both public transportation and the highways.
