Beautiful fall evening here in N.E. Indiana.

I’m sitting by a fire, at the edge of the woods, listening to the radio and drinking beer. Clear skies and calm after being windy and overcast most of the day. Glorious full moon! There’s a big white feral cat that comes and watches me when I’m out here. He won’t come out in the clearing but he/she sits in the brush and observes. I put a bowl of cat food over by the edge of the brush and he came over and checked it out once I got far enough away. Apparently not to his liking, he ate a little but not all.

A stormy evening in Seattle-ish. A dying typhoon is about to go over. I’m a Midwesterner–lived in Fort Wayne for a decade, btw–so I’d laugh at this “storm” except that out here in western Washington, the trees are about four times taller than Indiana trees, and the soil is sandy, so they *can *blow over. And sometimes do.

It’s about 10 degrees above average in my neck of the Midwest. I sat out on my porch and read a book for about the last hour before the sun went down, even though it was cloudy and sprinkled a couple times.

Yes it was much warmer here today than yesterday. I was out here last night in a warm shirt and a vest over that. Tee shirt tonight.

I’m very close to Ft. Wayne.

On the western shore of Lake Michigan tonight, the surf is noisy, there’s a fog creeping up the beach, and the skies are cloudy. But it’s comfy in the hot tub on the deck. The cat patrols the rim of the hot tub.

Country cats aren’t as fearless as city cats
