I’m actually really unhappy about it, but it was kinda fun to watch the “almost” comeback and who could pass up an opportunity for a thread title like this?

I for one celebrate the end of the Trojan reign over the Pac-10. As an alumnus of the school who broke usc’s winning streak, I plan to send a bouquet of roses to Pete for putting us back in the BCS hunt.
Obvious I can’t support the “F” ing of Texas, but I’m with you on the Notre Dame one.

Honestly, I can’t say I’m surprised. We haven’t had a particularly good offense this year, and have been winning by narrower and narrower margins as the season progressed. Hopefully the team will get enough experience under their belts to come back stronger next year.
You know, after doing my undergrad work at a school with no football team, it’s continually fun and amazing to me to go to a school with actual pride. From the first day I started grad school at USC, I was amazed that people actually wore stuff with the school logo. At my old school, that would be like wearing a band’s T-shirt to one of their concerts or something. But here, people wear USC sweatshirts not because they were cold and the bookstore was the closest source of clothing, but because they wanted to.
And it’s fun following the football team’s progress and actually caring how they do. Although unlike most Trojans, I’m not horrifically upset at this loss. It was coming sooner or later.
Hate notre dame. And penn state.
I rationalize it like that too, but Why Oh Why Oregon State?

But on the bright side, better to get that one loss out of the way now, so we can stomp Cal, ND and UCLA (hopefully running up the score on all of them) for a strong finish.
