Because some of us are awake already, a Place Holder MMP

After 3 failed attempts (kept falling asleep), I finally finished the history chapter that I started 2 weeks ago. Turns out, I was only 1.5 pages away from the end of the chapter when I stopped reading 2 weeks ago.
HATE!!! true or false tests. Why can’t I just write essays? They’re better for proving that I understand and aren’t as likely as T/F to involve annoying questions.

I promise, I promise I will not be so absent this week.

shortdrum is this a true statement or a false statement?

show’s over. I’m exhausted. i’ll save the pics for the next MMP. Who’s up anyway? 'cause I’ll do it - I can tell the tale of prepping for the show.

Or perhaps you’d like to write an essay on CatDude’s likely level of truthfulness, shortdrum.

No one else has volunteered, rosie, so I vote for you!

Bought some groceries, raked leaves off the walk, and made myself some biscuit pizzas (yeah, pretty much what they soundlike: whomp biscuits, pizza sauce, cheese; threw in some bacon bits, too. Tasty, although not super-nutritious).

Now I’m hanging out, deciding what to do with the evening. I’m thinking I might knit for a while.

Hugs.

Today has been weird. I slept super late and woke up to utterly still grayness. Then it started raining, which hasn’t happened in a bunch of months. The bad dream I had is still dogging me. Oh! Which reminds me!

Phouka, some companies offer help with their meds. I’ve got insurance for now, but I’ve noticed Pfizer has something for Effexor, which seems to help me. www.PfizerHelpfulAnswers.com It might not be for you, but others might bear looking into.

Homemade** ginger beer** is awesome and pretty easy. There are recipes online and you just tweak them until you’ve got one to your tastes. Nothing commercial compares.
My dad used to do a little home brewing and made ginger beer for us kids. First time I ever got just a wee bit tipsy was drinking ginger beer. Darn stuff developed just a little alcohol and Dad snatched it away faster than you could blink when we told him we felt ‘sorta fuzzy’.

My cupboards are bare-ish (it’s a subtle Swampy shout out!) and so I’m going to order chinese food. Tomorrow I’ll buy cream cheese so’s to try a new cookie recipe and re-stock. I have hearts of palm but no bread, green curry paste but no chicken.

Right now my pug is watching me type, standing on my right leg, sorta surfing. She finds you all fascinating. And worthy of sneezing upon. Geez Sweet Pea! Right on the screen…

I’m glaring at you right now.

Actually had a burst of energy and motivation so Sweetie and I spent an hour cleaning the living room. Ugh. So much dirt and dog hair. Have I mentioned that I hate sweeping? Sweetie finds it amusing that two people who detest cleaning bought a house that already needs a lot of upkeep and then added 3 dogs to it.

Sweetie had din din with his family so my din din is a banana, a pint of raspberries, and a pint of strawberries. Sweetie is horrified and totally grossed out.

Taking a night off from school work. Gonna play CoH for a little while and then go to bed.

Haven’t been around much this week… RL intervenes. Will try to do better. Goodnight all. Looking forward to a new MMP tomorrow…

I took a really long nap this afternoon. I apparently needed it.

I made stuffed acorn squash for dinner. I didn’t have celery, but made do using italian sausage, apple, onion, some seasonings, bread crumbs, craisins, and vegetable broth. Cooked up the meat and stuff, partially pre-cooked the acorn squash in the microwave (having dotted it with butter and seasonings). Then stuffed the squash halves and baked them at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes.

They were tasty, even if it wasn’t my usual recipe.

I have enough “stuffing” left over to make more tomorrow night. I have one more squash and I should use it.

I’m not looking forward to my alarm clock going off tomorrow.

Better. I guess.

I seem to have sublimated the anger into determination to housetrain the dog. It starts with crate training and rewarding the dog any time she voids bladder/bowel outdoors. Crate training starts with getting her to trust the crate (she thinks it will eat her).

There’s a piece of duck jerky in there, waiting for her, but she hasn’t worked up the courage to go for it. Also, each time I’ve taken her outside and waited for five minutes with a treat in case she pottied, she looked at me like I was insane, and the moment we were back inside, went on one of the pads.

sigh

However, I also got my mom hooked on BSG. Only took five years.

Oh, and my dad’s decided that Daylight Saving Time is stupid and should be argued out of existence. Somehow, he’s decided to start with me. /headdesk.

I’m going to sleep now. I’ll probably sleep until all y’all are on page 2.

I do that a lot too.

I was offline yesterday and I’ve got limited online time today due to Culinary Boy’s Veteran’s Day present. He got another V-Day present from our leasing agency, of all places. We had to have A Talk with them today, and when he told Lady L about what he’d been going through and his PTSD diagnosis, she said, “That’s not a permanent thing, you know.” You could see the clouds part and hear the angels begin to hum over him. I don’t think he realized that it is possible to recover from PTSD.

Tomorrow at work we’re getting lunch from Chik-fil-A because we scored outstanding on The Inspection for the third time straight. Also, Little Mrs. Perky is being transferred up the road. Everyone on the desk knows it but her, but we’re all pretending we don’t. Now the Hampton Inn will get to listen to the constant refrain of “My husband, my mom, my husband, my mom.”

erm . . . we’ve been over here since Monday . . . :dubious:

Yeah, my inbox got all wonky on me.

Best ginger ale I ever had was Barritts which is from Bermuda. Really good fresh ginger flavor.

The problem is that I bought it at a store in central New Jersey when I was driving through that state. I haven’t found any local place that sells it or can order it.
