Bedding down in the MMP

Our driveway is clear!! One guy on an ATV with a blade, another with a small John Deere front end loader have been here about 45 minutes. They cleared the path to our mailbox and scooped all the snow off the drive and dumped it on the lawn area. I don’t expect the pile to melt for months!!! But I don’t care - we can now get out. Yay!!

A distinct possibility!
How hot does it get in the Summer? :dubious:

See, the Missouri Syned is just the name for another denomination of Lutherans. It doesn’t mean they are all in Missouri or anything like that. It’s very conservative, and one thing it does have in common with Catholicism is that the Eucharist, communion, is “closed” So unless you are LC-MS you can’t commune in one of their churches. Oh, and women can’t be ordained as clergy. And let us not forget that women only recently were allowed to be voting members of the congregations. My eighty three year old mother has never been to a Voter’s Meeting because she doesn’t have the right plumbing. But that’s where I was raised, baptized and confirmed, and although I can’t commune there anymore, I got a fine Christian education. I simply have more “liberal” beliefs now.

I hope your car gets you to and from the grocery store OK. Sucks to be hungry, I should know as I’m back on my diet.

Well, too late now but there is one within a few blocks of mine and also of Mom’s!

That’ last line refers to swampy’s comment about completeing a trifecta!

Too hot, IMO. Triple digits normal, over 110 not unusual.

And draw a line through Sacramento. :dubious:

Stinking.

[QUOTE=swampbear]
I think y’all should also go to an ELCA service to complete the trifecta.

Don’t forget the Wisconsin Synod. Northern Illinois where I grew up was apparently some sort of Lutheran DMZ, so we had representation from Wisconsin and Missouri.

'Tis been a very lazy afternoon here at da cave. Dindin shall be magic intartoobz pizza. I shall order and OYKW will go to the place where magic intartoobz pizza goes and fetch said pizza. I offered to go but he said he would so I considered the matter closed.

I read an article once about the different flavors of Lutherans. There are a lot of them. DeathMistress LCMS now allows women to vote? Shocking!

I am a heathen. Need me a church family.

Sluggish day as is the norm. Did manage some laundry. We are now watching football :roll eyes:

Dinner will be skirt steak on the George Forman, buttered taters, Coles slaw and maybe something else. I need to get ready for irk which means ironing :head slap:

Glad you can venture forth Mmmooooomm

All sickies feel better soon.

Well, you know how gotpasswords mentioned the Wisconsin Synod? From what I once heard they are for people who are displeased by how liberal the Missouri Synod is!

If you are into alternate history at all Eric Flint’s Ring of Fire series contains a story titled “The Rudolstadt Colloquoy” about a Lutheran religious conference. Not too much fiction turns on the fine points of Lutheran theology!:stuck_out_tongue: There’s a riot in there in the town square, that’s fun too!

Magic intartoobz has been ingested. Also, I have accomplished the monumental task of draggin’ the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can to the road as tomorrow is trash day. Go Me!

DeathMistress a riot on the town square is always fun. I like to pack a pic-a-nic basket and a cooler, bring lawn chairs and sit back and watch.

Good luck wit your move, big kitty.

{{{wet one}}}

flytrap, middle Tennessee reporting: it was above freezing this afternoon and some of our snow melted. Unfortunately, it will dip to ~15○ tonight refreezing all of the melted crap.

On the plus side, I took the opportunity to get the car brushed off and went to the grocery store while the laundry was in the washer. Not all of Kroger’s shelves were bare. :stuck_out_tongue:

Now, all that’s left are the supper dishes and folding drawers and socks.

We went to Cracker Barrel for supper, altho *someone *had breakfast instead. The main roads were all dry. There was some slop getting out of our neighborhood, and the access road to Cracker Barrel was a mess, but for the most part, it wasn’t a bad drive.

I did find out that the base has a 4-hour delayed opening, but they count that from 7AM, so work starts at 11. I usually start at 6. I’m not sure how that works out for my pay, but I guess I’ll find out. I’ll probably lose some money. Oh well… I’d say I can sleep in, but I can’t since **FCD **intends to go in his regular time. Guess I get some computer time. Can you imagine??

I might be bored enough to clean the bathrooms. CAN YOU IMAGINE?!?!?

Lasagna made and eaten. Dishes done. Laundry folded. House vacuumed. Time to go veg out and prep for next week.

Mmmm, cake.

Then draw a line through all of PA, eastern Ohio, and northern West Virginia as well. All three regularly get over 110 American during the summer and far below zero for months at a time in the winter.

Yeah - I know they don’t. I just really really want to keep Plant out of my usual range

And for those who feel the WS is too liberal, we Lutherans always fall back on the Evangelical Catholic Church.
Dinner was home made tacos. I may pay for the amount of hot sauce I used on mine ----- but not for a while yet.

'Tis chilly out and we’s tahrd, so we shall retire to the boudoir to watch teevee until sleepy time.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

They don’t beam it to your house?
Shocking!
:dubious:

I very good choice, as I made & et Lasag-knee, too. My dishes are also done, only one load of laundry to do, & I don’t think imma gonna do that tonight as it’s just the athletic clothes & they don’t go in the dryer. Didn’t vacuum thou.
Apparently some woman on the next street has a herniated disc & needs her driveway shoveled. Ummm, why couldn’t I have found out about this when it was still sunny & hadn’t yet refrozen??? With the way the NFC game is going, I might just go do it…once I take the cake outta the oven.

At least the [del]not-cheaters[/del] Broncos won.

Tahred. Time to sleep. MWAH!
