Bedding down in the MMP

The world wonders.
:dubious:

Lazy weekend full of period romance movies and knitting. TheElf is out of town for two weeks, so there is a lot of that same thing ahead of me.
Had my year-end review today. Went great. Got one “anonymous” negative feedback from annoying co-worker (could tell by the complaint and the bad grammar), but otherwise glowing reviews. In March I’ll know if I got a raise and/or promotion.

Happy Blurfday all.

We have achieved N.O.L. Both of us went with the grilled ham ‘n cheese sammich with fries. Sometimes you just gotta go with the classics when one is in a gourmet restaurant such as Three Squares Diner. OYKW is at his place now. We shall meet up later at the church house. He’s stayin’ at his place tonight because he has three home visit monitorin’s startin’ at six a.m. tomorrow and goin’ on back to back. The first one is just down the street from his place, so it makes sense.

Meanwhile, I have some boneless chikin boobs bakin’ which I shall turn into chikin enchilada for tomorrow night’s dindin. OLÈ!

All I can say is we love our Sleep Number. DH and I are opposites when it comes to furniture. We tried a memory foam mattress and we slept like babies. Only problem is that he slept like a happy warm baby and I slept like a colicky baby with a full diaper.

AFAIK the only thing you can’t do with a SN bed is have different toppers on each side unless you build a king size with two XL twins.

Other than that, I’ve got the crud. DH had it first and gave it to me.

Laundry is done! Five loads total, altho one was the afghans, so that doesn’t really count as part of the weekly dirties.

Supper will be meatloaf - I had it thawing on the counter for a while, then I put it in the fridge. I’ll take it out in an hour to finish thawing, then pop it in the oven about 4. Not sure what the sides will be - probably instant smashed N.O.T.s (don’t judge!!!) and whatever I extract from the freezer. Sides are easy.

All in all, I’ve been enjoying my lazy day.

I sleep on a queen-sized Serta with innersprings, covered by a layer of memory foam, covered by a layer of regular pillow-top stuff. (And over that is a nice heated mattress pad, which is heaven in the cold weather.)

I luffs it. The cats do, too. However, I can’t get any more pets, or I’ll need a king-sized bed!

Enjoying the day off for MLK Day. Not looking forward to going back to work - it’s going to be frackin’ cold this week!

I just sent off my appeal to the SSA. It’s now out of my hands. Please keep your fingers crossed because I really don’t want to move again, and especially not into my brother’s house (he has no room anyway)

I can’t do a memory foam mattress. I tried one out at the store and once I lay down on it I couldn’t move. I’ll stick with old fashioned springs with a forgetful foam topper, thanks.

Ahhh, finally a chance to sit & relax -2nd intermission @ hockey game.
18° w/ a wind chill of 5° means I ended up in the gym this morning on the treadmill. Idjit next to was yapyapyapping away on her phone the whole time. She then said she had to go, ran maybe1/10 mile before finishing & getting her kid let from babysitting room & leaving.

Went home & made big brekkie (pt 2]; corn muffins (Jiffy) + eggs & mini tater tots.
Gotta go - play’s resuming

I don’t know what kind of mattress I have, I bought it on Amazon. It took a while to get used to, I felt like I had to hold onto it to keep from falling out of bed.
That’s because my previous mattress was so saggy that it practically curved around me as I sank into it.
I prefer a firm mattress.

Sah-son’s father had a waterbed and the few times I slept in it when I was pregnant I felt like a beached whale. Okay to sleep in it, hell to get out of it.

I know it’ still early in the week but our meteorologists are telling us to begin planning on 1-2 feet of snow in DC Friday through Saturday.

Even if it doesn’t happen (it is early in the week) we have a long week ahead of us…

**Tugig **- it’s still pretty far out - with luck, it’ll miss us, right? At least it’s the weekend. Shouldn’t affect going back to work on Monday, right? Down my way, the high end of the forecast is around 15", the low end at 9". Still too much to shovel. We’ll make sure we have cash to pay and traveling plow guys.

Interestingly it appears to be a southern storm, with DC - Richmond getting more than Baltimore - Philly. And yes, it is pretty far out.

But our meteorologists are not know for Chicken Little-ing us, so when they make noises at us we pay attention.

And unfortunately we have to make plans.

Saturday is my birthday. I expect it’ll be spent indoors, unless I decide to shovel. Guess if I want cake, I need to get it ahead of time.

I don’t know how y’all live in cold places. It was 60F today and I am freezing and have finally turned the heat on.

Did the same last week. Any idea how long we’ll have to wait for a hearing?

The irritating part is their website has internal directions on how to “build” a case, and for us, they seem to be ignoring their own instructions. Instead, they deny our request for reconsideration saying that nausea and fatigue can be managed with medication. Technically true, but most antinausea meds cause fatigue. And what treats fatigue? Amphetamines?

I hate you.
We all do.

I don’t. I love the cold. It’s the ice I can’t stand.

Since I’m not going on a trip this week I’m thinking about going to see the Worst Movie Ever Made again. Maybe I can convince Irish Storyteller and/or Seasonal to go see it with me, weather permitting?

Speak for yourself, flytrap! :stuck_out_tongue: I have pity for our thin-blooded southern Mumper!

I think today’s high here was 25° and it never got to 70° in the house, altho, it’s probably that warm in the family room where the pellet stove lives. On the other hand, the bedrooms are frosty!

Meatloaf was mega-yum! Leftovers were built into sammiches for FCD’s lunch for the next 2 days. I’m going to eat the last of the veggie-beef soup for my next 2 lunches. Weds night, I’ll build 2 more lunches from whatever I can find. I see PB&J…

I attached a pdf of The Spoon Theory article. And I have five people willing to tell the SSA where they can stick if they deny me again.

Yes, I can sit at a desk and type, but there’s way more than that to going to work on a daily basis. By the time I’ve pulled myself out of bed, washed and dressed, loaded the jazzy, driven to work, and unloaded the jazzy, I’ve used up 75% of my spoons, and I still have to remain upright and focused for nine more hours then reverse the process. I’d be operating at a constant spoon deficit, which may be fine for Republicans but doesn’t at all work for me
