Apparently “independent study” classes are not taught regularly. Apparently they’re supposed to be supplementary to other classes and are only supposed to happen once every two weeks or something. I’ve been teaching 6 HOURS A WEEK because NO ONE bothered to tell me this!!! That person got the advantage of a full class!!!
I suppose it was partly my fault for not asking in the beginning, but the dean did not imply anything about this class being different from my other classes. And now he’s gone to another school, so they’re blaming it all on him and refusing to take responsibility.
We worked something out, but it still ends up being less than min. wage. I am not happy at all, but I’ll just have to take this as a “lesson learned” kind of thing.
Sorry, am too upset to respond properly to rest of thread. Must go get drink and bitch to friends.
