Begorra! A St. Paddy's Day MMP

rosie, since I know you’re concerned, the cake is YUMMMMMM!!

And now I think I’ll go take my clothes off the lines. Can’t believe it’s going to snow tomorrow. Dammit.

Suppah was gooooood! Poke chops, baked N.O.T., and broccoli. Cake later.

And with luck, I’ll finally finish my shawl tonight. It’s been slow going for some reason. It didn’t help that last night I accidentally pulled about 2 dozen stitches off the needle. After a little cussing, I got them back on, but I really hate when that happens.

tomorrow night’s storm will avoid us entirely.

Cool.

I’m home and tired.
Sucky day, I’m getting very discouraged.

I’m getting grumpier and grumpier around here, I’m tired of getting woke up every night by the thundering herd. I’m supposed to go to a birthday party for my grand niece tomorrow, shit I have to buy a gift. I only heard about the party yesterday.

I’m looking forward to Thorsday though.

All the meat has been smoked. The pastrami did turn out well! I’ve impressed myself! The Cornish hens were totally melt-in-your-mouth, and the turkey breast was delicious! I did good!

My husband won’t be coming home, after all. He did swing by the local fuel stop, and I met him there. I delivered all sorts of yummy food to him, including homemade soup, a loaf of the bread, a container of the cobbler, and lots of the turkey and pastrami that I had made today. So, hes all set to have good meals for the upcoming week. He’s going to try to outrun the bad weather, and get to his destination ahead of it. We’ll see. He won’t be home until next weekend. This will make the third week in a row he’s been away. I should be used to it by now, but sometimes, it gets irksome. Oh well. That’s how it goes with OTR.

I’m tired, and I think I’ll turn in early tonight.

Howdy Y’all! Home from the big St. Paddy’s day celebration over to the church house. ‘Twas a biiiiiiiiig success! The foodstuffs were awesome. I gotta say, the grilled chikin was a hit. It’s a little bit of a brag cause I did the dry rub on the laigs this mornin’ (it was all chikin laigs in case I forgot to mention that) and let 'em set refrigerated for four hours. I took ‘em out an hour before the grillin’ started. As I grilled, I let 'em brown on one side, flipped 'em over, brushed a little honey/Guiness glaze on the browned side, then did the same when I flipped ‘em over. I let ‘em grill low and slow, so I was grillin’ for three solid hard hours. The results were nuttin’ sort of the most fantastic grilled chikin laigs evah! Not a one was left. The corned beef 'n cabbage got all gone as well and was as good as ever. Dessert was brownies baked with Bailey’s Irish Cream and ice cream. Oh and also, there was soda bread which was sooooooo good! My dindin consisted of chikin laigs, Irish soda bread, a brownie and ice cream. All washed down with a green beer or three.

MOOOOOOM yes, I do have more than one set of sheets. Sometimes I do put another set on when I take a set off to wash. However, today, I washed, dried and put back on the bed the same set of sheets. I’m all willy-nilly with how I change sheets each week. It’s all a part of what makes bein’ da bear so much fun. :stuck_out_tongue:

Speakin’ of bed, OYKW has already gone to sack out for the night. Da bear is very tired and about to do the same.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Went to an awesome show with friends tonight.

Good times.

Tomorrow maybe I will get up early and drink more cake or else be lazy and sleep or something.

I should go to bed. I should do things instead of saying “I should” all the time. We even had a thread about that once.

Too much on my mind, man…

ETA: Is “typi” the plural of “typo”?

12 ohours of moving and packing and a movie later, I’m home. It was 72 today. We get a wintery mix on Monday. : headdesk :

Nice Anglo-Zulu War reference.

Did the dreaded cookie shingles appear?

Higgs is getting better - it was 6:30 before she woke me. Of course, for all I know, **FCD **stayed up till 2 to tire her out… I tried feeding her and going back to bed, but there was a gawd-awful ruckus - Taz got himself tangled in the handle of a tote bag and couldn’t get out. He went yowling down the hall, which just made the bag spin and tighten the handle around his middle. I had to catch him, get he to lie still, and figure out which way to unwind the bag, all without glasses. No surprise that I got a claw in my finger for my efforts, so it’s a bloody Sunday morning.

After that, there was no way I could go back to sleep, so **FCD **is still snoozing away, and I’m here. Higgs is trying to play with Ziva, but she doesn’t play - especially not with a psycho pug. So much drama.

I was having a dream that I didn’t want to leave. I was hanging out with a movie star - no idea who it was in the dream, but I knew he was equal in box-office stature to Tom Cruise. Oddly enough, he lived in a tiny apartment, hardly more than a medium-sized room. He and I went grocery shopping, because, you know, that’s what you do when you’re hanging with a super-star. When we go back, Amy Farrah Fowler (the character, not the actress) was cleaning his apartment. And that’s about when Higgs woke me. I wanted to go back to sleep and see where it went from there, but, well, you know…

Stoopit snow is on the way - if the forecast is to be believed, we could end up with as much as 8" here. I’m guessing/hoping it’ll be under 4". We shall see. Happy Sunday anyway!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 57 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 70 and rain/tstorm/apocalypse if the weather PTB are to be believed. Looks like it could get right stormy this afternoon/evenin’.

Today’s plans include deheathenization and not much else. I have a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for the General’s N.O.L. so we may swipe it after deheathenization.

Now I need more caffiene and should consider what to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence. I’m still feelin’ kinda sorta tahred from yestiddy even though I slept almost nine hours.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Isn’t today Sunday?
Swampy you are cornfusing me.

Today is SUNDAY Swampy.
Don’t do those kinds of things to me, make me think I am crazy.
Although the general consensus around here is that I am crazy, and every time I hear it I think ‘an yet y’all keep messing with me so who is the crazy one?’. Especially with all those butcher knives in the block so conveniently sitting right there on the counter.

Happy Sunday!

It’s a whopping 37 degrees after the beautiful day yesterday. It just ain’t right you know, Mother Nature playing with our heads this way. I’m beginning to think she’s a mother alright but not of the Nature kind.

I’m tired. Too many nights with too little sleep.

So I found the perfect house, on a lot with no yard. A really nice yard with a not so nice house. I have to think about it some more. The dining room is ugly, I thought it needed to be finished but no, somebody nailed 2x4s to the wall, I think they were going for a rustic look? It’s only 2 bedrooms which would be okay if it had a nice attic but the attic is not a real attic.

So I like one of the HomePath houses and am waiting to hear back from the lender because the agent thinks the loan won’t go through but I think it will.

I’m up and caffeinated. Hockey tailgate today(with Corned Beef and cabbage).

sari, someone nailed 2x4s to the dining room wall?:dubious: Were they supports for bookcases/wine racks, or just left plain?

Good morning.

It’s a dark, dreary day in these parts, this morning. I’m doing up some laundry, and thinking about what to make for dinner. Probably fish, in some form.

I’m just glad the nasty, snowy, icy weather will stay to the south, and the east of my area. I think we’ll be getting some rain this afternoon, though. That’s better than snow and ice.

Have a good day, everyone.

sari, I’m sure you know this, but I’m gonna say it anyway - ugly in a house can be fixed. It may take some time and elbow grease, but if a place is structurally sound and in an area you like, don’t discount it just because it’s ugly. We’ve gotten some good houses over the years because we were able to overlook ugly, including where we live right now.

Back from breakfast. **FCD **is prepping for a water change today. I need to decide what my next afghan will be. I’ve got lots of scraps to use up again, so I have a couple of ideas. I finished the shawl last night (FINALLY) and I need my next project.

We finished watching season 2 of House of Cards last night - holy crap, is that show twisted!!! And now we’ve got to wait another whole year to see what happens next. eeeeesh!

Waiting for the snow to move in - I’m predicting we won’t get more than 3". Guess we’ll see how much I learned from my one meteorology class back in '78.

eta: **Ace **- where do you live? I don’t need an address, but a geographical area would be nice. Because I care.

FCM, I’m in west central Indiana.

Welcome to the MMP. You need a nickname. (well, not “need” exactly, but we all get one.)

I dub thee nonny.

also BLURF

Too late, **rosie **- she’s Ace - **swampy **named her last week.

“nonny, also BLURF”?
An awkward name at best, Oh Cute One. :dubious:
