**Jynx **- I worked in the Puzzle Palace for 30 months when I was still in uniform. It was an experience, that’s for sure…
OK, quit distracting me - I’ve got bunnies to stuff!!!

I will probably wear something green to irk but there will not be any celebratin of the Irish variety at the McAnachi’s despite our ancestry. Irk night and all that.
Mom, did you check to see if the off-switch-arm was still up in the ice-maker? They stick sometimes.
I propose the U.S. designate April 1 as an official national holiday-April Fools Day. It’s already got a designation as a special day and this lack of days off until May is just inhumane, amirite?
Gah! I misread my contract on the new house, and we have to have the condo listed by this Saturday, not next. Luckily, we’re reeeeeeally almost done. I can do this. I just wasn’t quite ready to.
The waterline in the freezer we had in NC would freeze during the winter. As soon as the weather warmed up in the spring, the ice maker would start working again.
I had to get out of bed early to get poked and prodded by medical professionals. I had to give 3 vials of blood for various testing and get a TDAP booster. I nearly fell over after the shot and I just preemptively lay my head down during the vampire feeding. Did I mention I didn’t eat before I left because one was a fasting draw? Even after a hearty Waffle House breakfast, I’m still weak and shaky. This is why I schedule doctor’s appointments for my day off.
And my arm hurts. But I got my taxes dropped off. I believe I have done quite enough for one day.
Here’s a Sinfest about the differences between dogs and cats. I’m going to go lie down. Or something. I don’t know.
I have, as far as I know, zero Irish ancestry so don’t normally do anything for St Paddy’s day and I don’t like Guinness either so that would be another good reason not to indulge in any “traditional” celebrations.
Thank you for the buffday wishes, I had a brilliant day - in fact I’ve had a long weekend away for my birthday and spent Friday/Saturday in Stirling then Sunday/Monday in Edinburgh, and am only just home. Stirling was beautiful, and since the weather was fine enough, there was plenty of walking around and climbing up and down hills just for the views from the top. Also visited Stirling Castle and had a meander around all the exhibitions there including the Argyll and Sutherland’s regimental museum, and the Stirling Heads.
It was also a weekend of beer and rugby as Scotland played France on Saturday and then England played Wales yesterday…and there’s nowhere better to watch a game than in a pub. My “check liver” light is definitely on!
List it this week & then (whoops, geez so sorry, I need to clean the tub/do my nails/host a little kid’s birthday party at that time) be unavailable for any showings in the first few days.
BooFae, you could try one of the mass-produced Amurikun beers, like Coors Diet, the (tasteless) green food coloring just about triples the taste of some of the cheaper swill. :dubious:
That’s kind of the plan. We’ve got the realtor coming to take pictures on Wednesday, at which time we can just move/hide anything we don’t want showing up. The desperately-needed air-duct cleaning is Friday, and the even more desperately needed thorough cleansing bitch-slap is Saturday. I will spend the next two days making sure we’ve hidden and/or moved absolutely everything we can.
I’m already tired. Good thing I did almost nothing but sleep this weekend.
Up, caffeinated, and brunched. Off to work in a bit.
Hope you unwooze, Spaz!
Good luck on the listing, Drae!
Lucky, I prefer bangers and mash for St. Patrick’s Day dinner.
That was the first thing I checked. Then I checked to be sure the bin was properly seated. Finally, I felt around in the back and found an on/off switch. I clicked it off, then on, and we’re getting ice again, so that’s good.
I really hate this fridge, but it still mostly works, so I can’t justify replacing it. Dammit. The water-thru-the-door doesn’t work because that line is frozen. When I empty the fridge and let it warm a bit, I’ll get water again for a little while, but not very long. Stoopit fridge.
And stoopit weather - it was supposed to be partly sunny and mid 60s - well, it’s been overcast all morning and the temp has hit 45°. I’m gonna have to bring in the laundry and toss it in the dryer. Dammit.
This is not a happy day. Stoopit fridge. Stoopit weather.
Drae I am always surprised at how the pics are of some of the houses. One had clothes strewn all around the room, others even have trash in them. You’d think they’d push stuff to the side to take a shot that misses most of the mess.
One house I wanted to look at is blue in the pic but I swear when I rode by it was cream colored. I don’t know if it’s the lighting or I am remembering wrong, or maybe it’s an old pic from the previous time the house was up for sale.
Of course I’m also surprised at how cluttered some of the houses have been. I’m not turned off by personal photos and stuff, I think it makes a house look more like a home. However, a lot of clutter makes me feel like my stuff won’t fit. That and having a house saturated with plug-ins are the two biggest turn-offs for me. Or reeking of stale cigarette smoke.
I was hoping to hear from an agent by now, its after noon. I haven’t so I guess I’ll go get cleaned up, they will probably call while I’m in the shower.
We’ve cleared out most of the clutter–I’d say over half our actual stuff is in storage by now–if not two-thirds. I feel the living room looks kind of bare, I might have to hang some artwork or something. We’ve taken down all the personal stuff, which made us pretty sad. Most of our knickknacks are also gone. There are still some in the bedrooms, and the urn with Sirius’ ashes is still on the bookcase because I’m not packing up my dead cat and putting him in storage, dammit. We’ve got an air-duct cleaning scheduled for Friday, and hopefully that and a thorough febrezing will take away any lingering smoke smell. We only smoke in the bedrooms in front of open windows. Some people notice it as soon as they come in, and some don’t notice it at all.
When we were shopping for this house, one of the places we looked at was not only kinda messy, but the woman who owned it followed us around, depriving us of the chance to snark. When we got to the master bedroom, her grown daughter was sprawled on the bed, smoking, watching cartoons. Way to make an impression! We kinda knew from the start that we didn’t want that house, but once you show up, you have to at least pretend to check it out rather than just turning around and walking out, right?
Well, that was fun. It’s raining! I got to go out and take down all the clothes from the lines and start stuffing them in the dryer.
Stoopit weather.
No, I scheduled an appointment with a owner occupied house and when we pulled up i didn’t even get out of the car. The agent made my apologies. I thought the house was brick and it turned out to be fake brick over siding and several of the bricks were missing. The porch was in bad shape and windows were in bad shape.
No sense in going in.
We will be having a celebration on St Patrick’s Day for two very good reasons:
Library1900, I love you!
Hi all and Happy Moanday
Prepping for tour, I leave tomorrow
Busy
Musical Mumper Meetup Is on
Cheers
Jim
Shoulda seen one of the local house ads- it was for an… ahem interesting area of town, and the living room picture had windows with tin foil pinned up over them, and broken hydroponics equipment scattered all over the floor. One guess why the last occupiers moved out
Anyway, I’s had a busy day- I think due to the anthistamines and resulting actual sleep over the last few days, I’ve had actual energy, after having none for months. It’s great!
After a ‘productive’ day being one where I did my washing and pottered around in the allotment for half an hour before crashing out online; today, I did washing, pegged it out to dry, went shopping, spent 2.5 hours doing actual work at the allotment (barrowing stuff, digging, not just drinking tea), now I’m off to a first aid recruitment event, followed by juggling club.
I’ve barely stopped all day, and I’ve been feeling like this for two days now- I really hope this lasts…
Oh look - the sun is starting to come out! I don’t care. My laundry is done. Can’t decide between sketties for supper or making **FCD **take me out to eat. Decisions, decisions…
They spoke of something called “The Sun” in the Long Ago Time.
