Blurf. Back in the orifice today; bummer.
Morning mumpers! Sorry to hear about the Swampy’s ick and BBbobbio’s doc problems. I will get the box of pointy stick-wielding Sri Lankan spiders ready to leave immediately!
I’ve arrived at my new temp job today, apparently the ID authentication system thinks I am starting tomorrow so it won’t let me in to anything much. I sneaked into my emails via a strange route and promptly deleted all 60 of the little perishers since they referred to the job I left three weeks ago.
Nothing else exciting going on, I can’t do much irk because I am locked out of things at the moment but when I finally manage to get in, everything should be fine and there will be lots to do.
Maybe I should just put my feet up and have a cup of tea instead.
::faces west and waves at Jim::
Wednesday flavored blurf
Happy Hump Day!
It’s a grey cloudy day but is supposed to get up to 73. I don’t believe TWPTB. Tomorrows high is 34. Joy and happiness.
Got to let out hellpup and riverpup today, when I was really hoping to take a nap.
Hmmmm… that predicted sunshine appears to have melted as it’s drippin’ all over the place. :dubious:
::sigh::
I am getting frustrated, one of the houses I wanted to see just got a contract on it. Only on the market for 4 days, I knew it would go quick.
I finally got a realtor out that way and I’m not sure I like her. She is already questioning if I qualify and wants me to talk to other lenders and I’m like WTF? I have a lender she can talk to.
So I’m bummed about the house I wanted to see, but another has come on the market and I am going out tomorrow.
Wish me luck.
Up, caffeinated, laundromat before work. I’ve wrecked 3 pairs of pants in three days.
Yeah, 73 today, in the 50s during the weekend, with a chance of the wearing o’ the white on St. Patrick’s Day. : headdesk :
I second this. Welcome to the insane asylum, Sassy.
You need to take them off before you put them in the washer. Duh.
In a prior life I bought homes twice, and sold one (the second went the way of short sale).
In the end I came to realize that home buying was one of the most unpleasant processes I ever went through. The worst part was sitting at the settlement table, realizing that there were 4 parties there and the other 3 (including your agent) was there to take your money.
But in the end it is worth it. All I can tell you is I found less than 5% of the homes I looked at interested me, but that 5% were worth it.
You’ll be okay. It’s hard to do alone, but really it’s no fun for anyone to do. The only time I think it could be fun was if you had enough money to buy one outright.
But most of us will never see that day.
Regardless hang in there - you’ll make it!
That is damned depressing.
I’m lucky enough to own my current home free and clear. I’ve chosen to move to a place with a vastly lower cost of living, so as long as I sell my current place for 75% of what I paid for it (which is about what I expect), I can get my new place and have money left over to fill it with furniture. It’s helping to speed things along considerably.
We have had little to no problem on the buying side so far–it’s the selling side that’s giving us fits, and we haven’t even listed yet. That’s happening today, and I shudder to think of how brutal I’m going to have to be with Roomie about her cleanliness habits (or lack thereof) until we sell.
Gettin’ right windy out. Guess that’s the cool front startin’ to move in. I want it to just be Spring and warm dagnabbit!
Sari what gigity said. Just hang in there. Then again, I know you’ve done the house buyin’ bidness before so you’ve experienced all of that. It’s still a PITA. I’ve done it three times myself. The last time was sellin’ and then buildin’ da cave. I never want to do that again either.
Sassy it is then!
I quit. No, really, I quit today. I went in and told my boss I can’t take it any more, and he wasn’t surprised, nor did he try to talk me out of it. I dumped all of my files on the shared drive, shredded a bunch of stuff, sorted a bunch, packed up all my stuff, said goodbye to the boss’ boss, then she and I drove to the Wildewood offices and said goodbye to her boss, turned in my badges, and parted company.
I also said goodbye to Bob and apologized, but everyone knows why I’m leaving, including the boss at the top of the pile. They know Missy Prissy is a problem. And I told them quite frankly that it was a personality issue and it’s entirely possible that others might be able to work with her without conflict. I, however, no longer wish to play that game. So I’m home planning a big week of cleaning cabinets and shampooing carpets. WOOHOO!!!
So, how’s your Wednesday??
So you get to play retiree, again? It must have felt so liberating to just up and quit, FCM. I so wish I could do the same.
It’s pleasant and somewhat sunny outside. I only know this because I crossed one our skybridges to go to the DFAC. Otherwise, I’d be clueless out weather conditions outside because I have a windowless office.
Yay for you MOOOOOOM! Sometimes that’s just what you have to do. Glad you got to say goodbye to those you wanted to tell goodbye.
I am at da cave. I’m doin’ some online paperirk stuff which I can do just as well here as at the orifice. I kept sneezin’ and sneezin’ and sneezin’ so I just decided to finish out the day here.
Tonight is Agape Supper over to the church house. ‘Tis a simple soup ‘n sammich supper followed by Holy Communion. Wine is a part of this, so I’m takin’ some wine as a contribution. I was goin’ to sign up for a soup 'n sammich time but those got filled real fast. So, wine it is then! I also bought some grape juice (a couple of big jars) as an alternative for those who do not wish to partake of wine but wish to partake of the grape. Plus, well, kiddies. Kiddies can drink the juice.
Taters, it’s not as liberating as you might think. I did like the job and I liked the one person I worked with most closely - I hated to leave and let him down. But I couldn’t take another day of Psycho Princess!
Now, once the weather gets nice, I’ll definitely be glad to be re-retired!
Thanks to all for your welcome!
It didn’t work for him either… BIL is a terrible liar
Here’s another idea for St. Patrick’s Day: Boxty or irish potato pancakes.
Blargh. Had a pretty crappy day. But now I’m home and in front of YouTube.
Still much to be worked on.
ooooooo - we’ve had Boxty at a local so-called Irish Pub. I lurves me some potato pancakes - my Aunt Ronnie made the best ones ever! I’m gonna give these a try! Thanks for the link, Sassy!
**FCD **has successfully put the primer coat on his gas tank and fenders - the painting of the Harley has begun! I need to remind him to take pics, even tho we’ve missed the chance to show the shiny bare metal state. Oh well…
One definitely nice thing about being off work - I can do my grocery shopping tomorrow morning when it’s not very crowded. Yay! So that’s the plan. And supper tonight is grab whatever. We’ve got a bunch of leftovers that need to be ingested.
