Begorra! A St. Paddy's Day MMP

We’re getting ten inches of snow today. Anyone anywhere in the world who has less inches than that has no right to complain!

Howdy from Marlboro NY

We are at the Falcon and about to go on, drive to Conn tonight, do radio at 7:30 am, television at 9:30 and a show tomorrow night, IOW we be busy.

Gotta run, show time

Cheers

Jim

Looks like the long-range forecast for when **Jim **comes to Annapolis is currently “Not terrible” so yay!

My supper was the last of the veggie beef soup. And I’ve been knitting. We had a major toad-soaker of a storm come thru, and it’s dark out, so I have no idea if it’s precipitating or not. Don’t care - I don’t have to go anywhere.

I do think it will be an early night - after 2 nights of less than 5 hours of sleep, even with the help of melatonin, I definitely need to crash. I’m thinking an adult beverage will be in order.

Home from Agape Supper. ‘Twas nice. There was a nice veggie soup, aig sallit, chikin sallit, and pimento cheese sammiches. Plus wine. Also grape juice, tea, and water. We have the meal then Holy Communion, much the same was as it was done in the early church. Except we have indoor lights, plumbin’, a/c and such. People were wantin’ to put the tables and chairs back in storage, but I dissuaded them. I mean, why put ‘em up when we’ll be usin’ 'em Sattidy at the big St. Pat’s event, right?

Sassy those sound good! I want to do colcannon but I can never talk ‘em into it. This y ear we are experimentin’ with a Guiness glazed baked chikin. Or we may grill the chikin and use a Guiness based bbq sauce. There will also be corned beef 'n cabbage, Irish soda bread and some type of dessert. Don’t know what the dessert will be but I’m pretty certain the og awful shamrock cookies from a local bakery will be there. A lady brings 'em every year. We could use ‘em for the foundation of the new buildin’ we’re about to start on, that’s how ummm… wonderful they are. Plus green beer! Got the keg pick up time all set for Firday late afternoon and the muscle needed to help me get it off twuck and into the fridge lined up. Can y’all guess I kinda like this celebration?

Anywho, thus is the news from swampland.

‘Tis windy out and gettin’ cooler. I shall retire for the evenin’ shortly.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Sat around all day on ‘standby for storms’ which never amounted to much. Then when I went off duty the winds picked up, started knocking out power and knocking over trees, and flipped a truck on I270.

But it all happened after my shift, hence, not my problem.

On a bad note Monday is steady in looking crappy here. At least I don’t feel bad for not washing the truck.

I worked. It monsooned. It’s cold again. Bah!

Mooommmm!, glad you’re rid of psycho bitch. Sorry it cost you the job you liked.

I do hope tomorrow’s callers are easier to deal with than today’s. Seemed like an unreasonable percentage had PMS crankies or similar, including males. (scowl)

Listen up, people, the nice lady who answers the phone does NOT make policy, she simply has to act within same, and ranting at her about how stupid/ridiculous/crazy said policy is just frustrates her. Even if she agrees with you (in most such cases, I do not necessarily agree, but make appropriate sympathetic noises), she has NO authority to change or violate same.

Also, ranting at the nice lady who answers the phone because someone else doesn’t return calls in what you deem a timely manner is less than useful. She cannot force other people to do things when YOU demand they be done.

I was in your neighbourhood last week. Okay, it was Newburgh but that’s close.

I slept so well last night, I hardly cared when the cats woke me at 5:30. I tried to go back to sleep, but then the dog started, so I gave up and got up. **FCD **is still abed since he stayed up later last night - I didn’t even hear him come in - yay for melatonin when it works!

It’s dark and a bit below freezing out there, and *very *windy. I heard all kinds of stuff creaking when I let Higgs out. About 9-ish, I plan to hit Food Lion for some grocery substances, after which I’ll come home and commence to organizing the kitchen cabinets. I feel like an indoor Indiana Jones in the quest for the oldest Use By date! Considering the number of cabinets, plus the definite need to clean them while they’re empty, I expect this to take most of the day and perhaps into tomorrow.

Yay, retirement?? :dubious:

Happy Thursday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 41 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 60 for the day. A definite cool down from the past three days. Temps will slowly creep back up over the next few days so there’s that.

Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffiene and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and alack, purtification for irk most commence. Such is life.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Major storm coming on, gotta go to work, buses delayed… I need to go get the bus soon or else risk not getting to work on time.

Blurf.

Morning. I’m up and caffeinated, and off to get new CV joints put on the truck. Work afterwards.

House is officially listed. We priced it to sell, and I’ve already done the math–if I get the asking price I can still subtract commission, attorney fees, moving company, title transfer fees, inspection on the new place and associated attorney/transfer fees … and I should still have a very nice chunk of change to play with. Because we’re going to need more furniture. And a lot of rugs.

For now, I’ve got some very intense cleanings scheduled for the weekend, as well as a well-deserved massage appointment for both Roomie and myself. Because stress. Or something.

It’s all over but the waiting. Sigh.

Blurf. I am at irk, it is irksome because I still can’t do very much until I get access to stuff I need. I’m part of the way there but I still need some more stuff from the helpdesk. They are going to remotely appear on my screen in an hour’s time to do something else so that will be exciting.

In other news, I have lost a lens from my reading glasses. Normally these glasses live in their case in my bag, I use them on the train when I’m going to and from work, I take them out with me but rarely need them unless I have to be reading a menu or something, and that’s it. Somehow or other, I have lost a lens. Sadly it shows how poor my sight is in that eye because I never even realised until I put my finger through the empty space where the lens should be. No idea when I lost it, or what happened to it. I just know it will mean a trip to the specs shop on Saturday.

Sari, I found the perfect place for you!

Doesn’t that mean that you have good eyesight as they aren’t really doing that much if you didn’t even realize the lens was missing when you used them?

Back from the gym and erranding. Time to deal with the disaster that is the pantry… FORWARD!!!

Do you miss Prissy Pants yet?

:d&r:

BBBobbio: :stuck_out_tongue:

Taking a break - the pantry has been emptied, swept, washed as necessary, and it’s mostly refilled. Stuff has been thrown away or recycled. Oldest use-by date is on some gelatin from 2007. I’m not sweating that - jello can’t go bad if it’s dry, right?

OK, time to get back to it. I’m down to the messy last bits, most of which are critter products. All in all, the pantry was more disorganized than disgusting, so yay!
