Being Human - Series 4 worth watching?

Just finished up with season 3 and preliminary research leaves me wondering which of the main cast are around for season 4. Is it just Annie? Does the cast shake up kill the show or is season 4 worth watching?

I didn’t like it, though I wasn’t a huge fan of the first three series either. I watched them, but wasn’t blown away.

Anyway, here’s what happens with the cast:
I’m terrible with character names, but in the first episode, Russel Tovey’s werewolf character dies to save his baby in a really contrived way. His girlfriend - the baby’s mother - is killed offscreen between series. That leaves Annie with the role and purpose of raising the baby, with the help of that other werewolf guy who was introduced in the previous series. In the series finale, Annie finally “dies” for real and won’t be coming back.

As replacements, they introduce another vampire/ghost/werewolf trio. THAT ghost “dies” near the start, the vampire sticks around, and I don’t remember what happens to the werewolf (who is the girl in that trio).
One major reason I didn’t like this series was because of the overall plot arc, which involved

the baby. Her future self discovers that she (the baby) has to die, or else the vampires end up running the world. So most of the series involves this tiny infant being targeted for death. As the father of two baby girls, I find it very difficult to watch that sort of thing these days, and the resolution in the finale wasn’t good in that respect. Non-parental views probably differ to some extent.

Anyway, I probably won’t bother with the next series.

I’m not going to say that Season 4 was better than the first three seasons, but it was surprisingly solid nonetheless, especially when you factor in all of the cast turnover. I particularly enjoyed the new vampire, Hal. The show didn’t simply plug in a carbon copy of Mitchell; Hal came from a much different direction. The new werewolf was pretty good as well, even if he was pretty much goofy like George. I’m looking forward to seeing what Season 5 has to offer.

Is the new werewolf the creepy kid with the distractingly bizarre eyebrows? I hated that character. I think I’ll just steer clear if the rest of the cast is pretty much gone.

I liked it. The first couple of episodes were hard to get into, but it got better as the cast gelled.

I really like season 4, and I didn’t expect to.

Thanks guys, we will give it a chance

You’re wrong about some of the new characters

The werewolf was the old black dude who died early on. The ghost was a girl and she was in love with the werewolf so they went through a door together after he died, then the vampire, Hal, stuck around with Annie and… shit… the guy with the eyebrows who’s the new main werewolf (he was introduced in series 3, but is now the main werewolf). Then later in the season another ghost (a girl) is introduced and the assumption is she’d replace Annie next series.

Oh, right. I remember now.

4 was a really good bridge series, and some of the episodes were well done.

series 5 will be 6 episodes. hopefully the new crew will give it a good go. filming has started.

the ghost thing has me a bit concerned about what i’m wearing. gives a whole new meaning to “wouldn’t be caught dead in that”. what happens if you die wearing your birthday suit? quite a few of the vampire victims aren’t wearing much.
