Being Human (UK version) series four (beware of open spoilers)

My theory is that Eve needs to be dead to become some sort of uber-powerful being, and if she dies in the present, before the war starts, Ghost Baby Eve will be able to stop it from ever happening.

Also, Ghost Baby Eve would be an excellent band name.

Oh, goodness, as if my week wasn’t busy enough.

I have only seen the first ep. of season four, and I am unhappy because I miss Russell Tovey and Sinead Keenan (and because their characters’ deaths were so unnecessarily unpleasant, after we had become attached to them).

I also liked the series because it was about three friends trying to deal on a day-to-day basis with being freaks and monsters, and trying to fit into everyday life (ummm, not that it hit a particular cord with me, or anything!). The vampire war was the dullest part of the series to me (though I loved Jason Watkins, *brilliant *actor). If they are going to concentrate on this ridiculous time travel/vampire-werewolf-human war mishegos, I am out.

The characters didn’t live in a pleasant world.

I’m going to miss George, too. He was my favorite character.

And the baby’s name should have stayed “Splodge.” Love it!

I was really expecting him to name her Nina, after her mother. “Eve” feels kind of… obvious, I guess.

I know, that was awesome!

I also liked Tom’s line:

Tom: Does she have a name?
George: I’ve been kind of busy.
Tom: My dad ate my parents and he still gave me a name.

Wow, if y’all are that far ahead of us (just got the 1st ep) I think I’ll just bow out of this thread now to keep from getting spoiled. I didn’t realize you were more than a week or so ahead.

On the other hand, Candyman74 is the only participant in the thread who is watching the show in the UK. I believe the rest of us are in the US and only saw the first episode of the fourth season. So can we modify the thread to limit it to the US schedule?

I’ve not mentioned any spoilers beyond the first episode, deliberately. Unless saying “I like #4” is a spoiler. I don’t feel the need to ruin the viewing experience for anyone.

I’m sure Brit & bitorrent viewers will be patient until it airs in the US, and avoid specifics.

I’m watching in the UK too and am up to ep 4. Given the title said “UK version” and “beware of open spoilers” I didn’t think I had to police myself.

If people would prefer I guess those of us in the UK can do closed spoilers for latest eps?

I think we would prefer that. Can we agree on closed spoilers?

The thread title is my bad I guess. I looked for a season thread started by Brits but there wasn’t one, so I started this thread for the season just starting in the US, but knew there were others a few episodes ahead.

If boxed spoilers (until it airs in the US) will keep everyone here, that’s fine with me.

Being Human generally doesn’t get enough thread traffic for more than one thread, and the seasons are so short anyway. It’ll be over before we know it.

I didn’t mean to imply anyone had to censor or spoiler box their comments, just that I would avoid the topic (yet here I am anyway for some reason… :smack:) to prevent myself being spoiled. If you want to discuss what you’ve seen in the UK, I don’t think I have any right to say you can’t.

Either way, do what you want, but if a consensus is reached, perhaps someone should notify a mod so the title can be amended with [UK pace] or [US pace], I believe there have been threads with that sort of qualifier in the past.

It is a completely different show that happens to have one familiar character in it. I don’t care about anything in it anymore.

I don’t see how it’s that different to the last series where the old ones and the machinations of the spirit world featured prevalently. But different strokes and all that…

I am also one who was accidentally spoilerized by this thread.

I am not happy that all but one of the original cast will still be around. I haven’t seen any episodes yet but plan to, DH prefers it over the American Syfy version and I think this is going to floor him when he finally sees it.

OK, I am glad they are getting back to the relationship/humor/horror/tear-jerking combo they do so well. I want to go back and see the Hal/Leo/Pearl Show, though!

I see up in Wales they get the “Blonde Lady Saying ‘Do It!’” porn TV channel.

To me, this looks like a strong start to a new season - I have no idea where they go from here.

Tom’s eyebrows really bug me. Can’t they get anyone in to prune those things back to something human-looking?

Russell Tovey is starring on Him & Her, currently.
