Being Human (UK version) series four (beware of open spoilers)

No, because he’s a werewolf! :stuck_out_tongue:

Fake Gyllenhaal? Still cannot understand a word he says. What kind of accent *is *that?

I know. After years of watching Brit TV, I’m getting better but I still have to pause and rewind a couple times when some of these guys get going. Tom especially.

It’s very working class Mancunian (someone from Manchester - or Manchastuh as they would say). It’s not an affected accent, there are plenty of people from Manchester who sound like that (but he is definitely making it harder to understand deliberately as they’re playing off it for Hal to not be able to make out what he’s saying).

Contrast with this guy, who’s from Yorkshire which is quite close to Manchester.

I agree. I liked the conversation between Pearl and Annie, particularly when Pearl insulted Annie’s tea. And the last bit, when Annie made tea for the three of them reminded me of the scene from one of the earliest episodes when George ranted about how there were never any clean teacups because Annie was constantly making tea.

Tonight’s episode - wow. Just wow.

You’re in for a treat people, you might wonder what’s going on initially but you’ll be on the edge of your seat by the end of it.

Watching the latest episode, tonight, my wife said, “Wow- Tom sounds just like Kelly on Misfits.” I looked him up- the actors are brother and sister.

My first impression of the new series wasn’t good, but episodes three and four won me over. The replacements are just as quirky and likable as the originals and the balance between the Eve plot and the plot about the roommates living their every day lives has is in a much better place than it was when the series started.

This may have aired in the US, but I’m spoilering it to be on the safe side
The blond wannabe edgy girl sent me on an emotional roller coaster ride. Fear that she was going to be a regular, resignation that this was going to happen once Hal and Tom took her home, and joy, disappointment, then more joy, when she died, reanimated and presumably left for good with the other vampire. I wish the show would have kept Pearl around though, and hopefully the older vampire who left with the blonde girl will make more appearances.
OK, they are back on track–I still miss Mitchell and Herrick and George and Nina, but they are back to the combination of really scary/really funny they do so well.

*Loved *Emo Girl.

These are my papers. They’re private! Poems, lyrics and stuff. Sure, I guess I could show you…

Just watched the penultimate episode.

Aargh. Just aargh.

“Aargh” I was on the edge of my seat? Or “aargh that was terrible”? I was the former.

Oh, the former, definitely.

My 8 week old baby girl has the same name as the war child, it makes for some emotionally charged viewing for me.

Aargh–go no further! The rest of us have only seen as far as ep. four.

No worries, I will reveal nothing. But really - aargh.

I loved Creepy Toy Man Ghost, and am warming up to Hal, but I still cannot understand a damn *word *Fake Gyllenhaal says.

Probably because you have little exposure to working class Mancunian. It’s easy for me but then I’m from the UK.

I have the same issue with ginger counsellor woman from Glee. Not a word.

I guess at some point you just have to accept shows made in other countries aren’t made with you (or me) in mind.

Well. That was all very dramatic.

Which ep.? We just saw the delightful succubus episode in the US, which I loved. Do you suppose the offhand mention of Brad Pitt was an “Angelina Jolie is a succubus” crack?
