I’ve always eaten Dennison’s.
Lately,I’ve been alittle dissapointed…
What canned Chili do you Like?
I predict this thread will be moved from General Questions in approximately 20 minutes. Any takers?
General Questions is for questions with factual answers. IMHO is for opinions and polls. I’ll move this to IMHO.

Wolf is pretty good. They have or had a spicy one with peppers.
The only two brands of canned chili I’ll eat are Wolf and Stagg “Steak House” style. All the rest are dog food.
Stagg Classic is without a doubt the best widely available canned chili. For many reasons, but mainly because it is a great base to build your own “super chili” out of.

Agreed. Chunks of tomato and two knds of beans. I don’t like the more glutinous Dennison-style. Stagg’s is one of things I stash at work in case I forget to bring food.

Wolf Brand is the only canned chili worth a damn.
Unfortunately, I can’t buy it in Kentucky and have to rely on the kindness of family in Texas to send it to me from time to time. The only thing around here that I can stomach eating if I absolutely need canned chili for some reason (hot dogs, eg.) then I go (begrudgingly) with Hormel. I tried Gold Star chili once since I’ve moved here, and it is easily the worst chili–nay, the worst canned substance–I’ve ever eaten. It’s vile and an abomination; I’d rather consume potted meat product.
The only thing I eat canned chili on/with are hot dogs and then it’s usually some generic brand, not anything in particular. Otherwise, I can’t bring myself to eat anything but homemade. It just doesn’t seem right otherwise.
I absolutely love Health Valley. It’s a fat-free organic vegetarian chili, which is kind of a different type of foodstuff from canned chili w/ meat, but I find it genuinely good. I don’t miss the meat or the fat. It is expecially good over french fries topped with grated cheddar cheese. Spicy Vegetarian and Black Bean seem to be the 2 best varieties. There’s also an Enchilada style, which is good but is my “3rd favorite.”
OK, that’s just wrong!
I thought the FDA had “Truth in Packaging” laws. Chili is not now, nor shall it EVER be either “fat-free,” or “vegetarian!”
So let it be written. So let it be done!
Laugh if you will, but way back when I was still buying canned chili, I used to eat nothing but Phyllis Diller’s brand of chili… there was several styles. It was worlds better than any other chili out there, and yes, I tried them all.
I don’t know if they even sell it anymore, though.
But it’s so darn easy to make your own chili that the only thing that I buy called “chili” any more is either XLNT hot dog chili (no beans, just meaty greasy tomatoey goodness) or it’s chili powder… or chili peppers.
I’m a lifelong fan of canned chilli. I’ve heard good things about Wolf brand, but I’ve never had it. They don’t have it around here, or anywhere else I’ve lived. 'Round these parts, we have Dennison’s, Nalley, Hormel, and Stagg. Stagg is quite good; I like most of their varieties. The rest are, as someone else said, dog food.
Although even with Stagg, I always add stuff: a spoonfull of cock sauce, some grated cheese, maybe some sour cream. And serve with tortilla chips.
I always liked Dennison’s. With beans. I tried Stagg once just for a change and found it hideous.
I like Nalley. It ain’t fancy but it’s good!
 And just what do you mean by cock sauce?
Hormel’s pretty good.
Not straight out of the can. Ew.
Love Stagg steak house chili.
Good stuff.
