Best commercial jingle EVER

I was just half-paying attention to the TV and heard this gem from a new commercial for Goldfish:

“The wholesome snack
That smiles back
Until you bite their heads off.”

I’m still laughing over this. Had to share.

I guess it has to do with the fact I was very young and therefore more impressionable and less jaded toward Madison Ave. Follow the bouncing ball…

Kids who climb on rocks!

Tough kids!
Sissy kids!
Even kids with chicken pox!

Eat Hot Dogs!
Armour Hot Dogs!
The Dogs – Kids – Love – to – Biiiite!

PLOP-PLOP Fizzz-Fizzz,
Oh what a relief it is!!

My baloney has a first name
It’s O-S-C-A-R
my baloney has a second name
It’s M-A-Y-E-R
OH I love to eat it every day
And if you ask me why I’ll sayyyyyy
'Cos Oscar Mayer has a way
With B-O-L-O-G-N-A

Take a chance
Make it happen
Pop the cork
Fingers snappin’
Spin the wheel
Round and round she goes.

Life is good, life is sweet.
Grab yourself a front row seat
Let’s meet, and have a ball!
Let’s live!
For the wonder of it all…
Meet me at Foxwoods! (Fox - Woods!)

I don’t know if it counts as jingle, but the best song lyrics I’ve heard in a comercial are from a German commercial for a clynic that teaches people other languages. It has a family consisting of a father, mother, and two little girls rocking out to a dinky techno beat and the words:

“I wanna fuck you in the ass.”

Aside from that, there’s an animated public service announcement about getting your cats neutored that’s just really cute:

"There’s too many kitties in the city,
There’s too many cats in the alleyway
They’re on the street with nothing to eat,
and they’ve got no place to stay.

There’s too many kitties in the city,
there’s none too few in the country too
They’re giving birth all over Earth
but there’s something you can do.

Get em neutored, get em spayed,
Take em to the vet, to the vet and get em set,
It’s better for the world and it’s better for your pt
Get em neutored, get em spayed"…repeats till black out

In the late 60s-early 70s The Coca-Cola company produced
a very Woodstock-esque jingle with a lot of flower children picked
from nations all over the world:

"I’d like to teach the world to sing, Something-something love,
I’d like to by the world a Coke, and snow-white turtle doves (???)

Anyway…

The jingle was reworded and released as a charted single.

“Zoom zoom zoom…zoom zoom zoom…yeah yeah yeah yeah…”

(ld&r)

“I’d like to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony.
I’d like to buy the world a Coke
And keep it company.”

Great jingles get remembered forever, and add to our lexicon and/or daily vocabulary. McDonalds managed it with the “You deserve a break today…” commercials, and Burger King responded with the “Have it your way” commercials. And, of course, it wasn’t a jingle, but “Where’s the beef!!?” will always be a part of society.
