Best thing you did all weekend.

Well, I was a dad. That’s always good.

Got some great Lebanese for dinner last night and watched a movie while enjoying each bite. Yum.

Had a great workout this morning.

But the best… I spent all afternoon driving an M5 like I stole it.

My hands are still shaking from the adrenaline. Wow!

I found an iPod yesterday. Left a note on a nearby car, but nobody’s claimed it yet.
But that doesn’t come close to making my daughter squeal with glee a couple times by horsing around with her

I cleaned the pool furniture. Yeah, I’m that boring. Also, last night, I went to a little gathering for a friend who officially retired from work Friday. That was pretty good. Good friends, good food and drink, and a good reason to celebrate.

I finally put together the little greenhouse I bought last year but never used so I can start some of my own seedlings to transplant into the garden–this will save me some pretty decent moolah.

I cleaned out the shed so I don’t have straw piled on top of things that use gasoline–always a good choice!

I heard my formerly picky-eater grandson effusively praise a dish which contains large amounts of red bell pepper (formerly guaranteed to ensure at least a sulking fit and dramatic faces as each tiny, cold sliver was shudderingly masticated, a process which could easily burn up an hour) and ask for more!

I found a torrent site which has the first season of Rocky and Bullwinkle on it, not that I’d ever DO anything about it, of course…

Bacon and egg brekky and my laptop humming away–good day, definitely!

For the last several months I’ve been aware of a shortage in my checking account and after waiting for it to magically resolve itself and then, when that failed, taking a quick run through the book hoping to spot an obvious error and again failing to find anything, I got serious today. Drug out all the paper and did a meticulous line by line check, back to late last year.

Success! Two transactions not recorded. Glad to have that taken care of!

I made chocolate brownies so that I can provide tea and sympathy (and chocolate brownies) to a friend whose relationship appears to have ended yesterday.

Okay, so I went to the store and bought the brownies, but, really, what’s the difference between buying the component parts and assembling them, and purchasing them already put together? Besides, it’s the thought that counts, right?

Worked the Fairy Godmother project, getting underprivileged girls kitted out for the prom (gown, shoes, accessories) at no cost.

I saw Dr. Strangelove on the big screen for the first time in my life. It was shown by the local university’s film group. I’m still entranced.
"The bomb, Dmitri… the hydrogen bomb… "

Went kite-flying. Maybe not all that big in the scheme of things but extraordinary relaxing - almost Zen.

I celebrated a friend’s birthday last night - liquor, cake, presents, dance music and UNO! It felt good to be social.

Got better. I was sicker than I’d been for a long time on Thurs and Fri, but when I woke up Saturday, I felt almost human. And today, I felt humaner still.

And I did laundry and the dishes.

All in all, a pretty boring weekend, but I’m so glad to be feeling normal again!

Last night was my last night to be home for spring break :frowning:

Went with my two best guy friends, Kyle and Andy to Forest Park and ate dinner at the Boathouse. It was a beautiful evening, warm and sunny. It was our second tine at Forest Park that week. Then we did some shopping at the Galleria and I got a super cute blazer at H&M. The boys couldn’t find anything so we went back near our houses and went to Target and the boys bought a few polos and Kyle bought the first season of Queer as Folk for forty bucks. We went and got ice cream from the best place around and went to Kyle’s house, ate our ice cream, smoked cigarettes and watched some Queer as Folk. I’ve always wanted to see that show and now I need to go buy it because I don’t want to wait until I’m home again in May to see the rest.

I really didn’t want to come back to school today because all my best friends still live at home (either go to school there or have good jobs there) and I hadn’t seen them in 2 months. And no matter how long I’m gone, it’s always the same when I get back - awesome!

Today I drove through that horrible storm that went through MO and IL. I had to get off the highway for half and hour because the rain and wind was so bad I couldn’t see or control my car. Lots of damage everywhere. I’m sure anyone in MO and IL if not more people will hear about it if they haven’t already. Scary stuff!!! I knew a storm was coming when I left the house but had no idea it would be as bad as it turned out - luckily I was in one of the areas that didn’t get hit too bad. Any more south or east I would have been screwed.

That’s awesome! Sounds like it would be fun, too.

Me, I bought patio furniture. A glass-topped bistro table and two chairs. Now I can have dinner on my balcony and enjoy the gorgeous sunshine!

Did a wild “3-way” with 18 year old Japanese twins and thier mother.

Oh, sorry. Thats a “4-way”.

Sheila

I had dinner with my parents on Saturday night at a delicious new Italian restaurant in their town.

I put a lock on our bedroom door this AM so Mrs. D and I can have some friendly time to ourselves without any of our 4 children coming in a bugging us.

Sigh It was a good afternoon.

Played along with my kid’s April Fool’s joke of putting green food colouring in the cream he knew I’d use to make the ice cream he’d asked for. Listening to him giggling about it with my wife while I was in the next room (apparently he thinks I’m deaf) was almost as funny as his happiness when I was “surprised”.

Now that is what I should have done this weekend.

The highlight of my weekend was that I got to make out with a boy.

But still, I think I would have prefered the kite-flying.

Grilled burgers on the Hibachi while watching the female hummingbird that showed up yesterday hit the feeder. It squawked at me when I first went out but then settled down.
