Best thing you did all weekend.

I peed. No, really. After surgery on Wednesday, all I’ve been able to do is sit and trickle. Today, I peed.

And it was awesome.

The best thing I did all weekend is also the only thing I did all weekend: I started typing up the draft annotated bibliography that’s due Tuesday night.

The rest of my time was spent hanging out online and watching entirely too much television (mostly on DVD), including the first season of Black Books, the first four episodes of The Shield, half of the final season of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and the last two hours of the 2005 World Series of Poker. I didn’t do any housework. I didn’t do my laundry. I didn’t go to the library – hell, I didn’t leave the house. I didn’t even call my mother (though I did try to call my friend in Pittsburgh).

Pretty pathetic.

I took my SAT!!! It took way too long…

I took my newly perscribed antidepressants as directed by my Dr…don’t feel much better but i dont feel worse…at least I’m not renting too much space out today. :dubious:

tsfr

Had a big fight with a friend, but then we talked about a lot of stuff and got some things sorted out, so now we’re ok.

Reassured three nervous couples that they had nothing to worry about, and put on a good wedding ceremony for each of them.

Sunday I went to cherry blossom-viewing party that turned into a ‘sitting indoors drinking’ party once the thunderstorm started.

Hmm, since my family and I are in Monterey/Carmel this weekend with my best friend and her family, it would be hard to pick out the best thing we did. We’re going to the Aquarium tomorrow, so I can’t count that.

Sooo, I think the best part of the weekend was eating lunch at my favorite cafe in Carmel, with my husband and son, and my best friend and her husband and two sons.

Had a few beers with some friends out on the front porch while watching the house party next door get broken up by the cops. I love when the weather is warm enough to sit outside. It kind of sucked that the party got busted, though; they were our supply of beer. It was simply nicer and less crowded over on our porch.

I went into the city on Saturday, spent the day with friends, enjoyed a long walk up Broadway, and saw a very good movie.

Friday night, I had dinner with friends and bowled… but the highlight was meeting a terrific girl, a friend of a friend. We all finished bowling at about 1 a.m., and I talked to her until about 4.

This is where I can brag on my hubby. We had two granddaughters (and their parents) from South Dakota stay over Saturday night (wedding that day).

This morning while everyone else was watching the bride open wedding gifts, he took the girls shopping, told them to pick something out, whatever they wanted. One got a new coat and the other a pair of jeans.

Totally his idea. All by himself. He volunteered. Didn’t even tell anybody what he was doing. I’m so proud of him.

I picked up a bitch.

Our sweet Guide dog puppy made it as a breeder, and we passed the house inspection, so we picked up her up at GDB in San Rafael and brought her home - bare pawed and pregnant. And we gave our neighbor, who loves her, a nice surprise by bringing her over. We kept the fact that we were getting her back from our neighbor.

The best thing I did this weekend was save my employer, the public radio station, from further embarrassment. A couple of local people were on the spring pledge drive on Saturday morning. In all my years working in radio, they were without question the most excruciating thing I have ever heard come out of speakers. I was supposed to record them doing more pitching to air later, but I refused on principle because they were just massively terrible. Anyone who heard them the first time is glad they didn’t get to hear them again. Anyone who didn’t hear them the first time has continued on in their lives without needing brain bleach.

I was a good wingman. I distracted the “we gotta go” girl long enough for them to get her friends numbers/make out/ etc.

Unwinterized the boat. Tested same by driving across the lake to lay around and drink beer and listen to music. Observed other boaters, beer, bikinis, etc. It was a good day.

Umm… I bought a new laptop!

A friend took me to a very nice restaurant outside Baltimore on Saturday night for my birthday (birthday actually on Friday). We dined on chestnut-stuffed quail and roast antelope.

Caught up with my life since my sickness and surgery, basically. Met people I haven’t met since, took my first long trip without my cane, managed to have lunch with a good friend I hadn’t met in a while. Also managed to clean up my apartment (stuff tends to pile up when you’re weak).

I went to a Darkon campout and hit people by day, then partied with my friends by night. Then I went to my first 'advanced" swing dancing lesson.

Best weekend I’ve had in a looong time.

Made major headway on my new art project. Getting the hang of the tools and techniques and I’m semi-pleased with the semi-finished product. I may even keep this piece!

I hung out with friends, and began sorting the boxes of comic books which have taken up residence in a corner of my house. I did about 175 but that was only half of a box, with a LOT more to go. I stopped when I ran out of supplies, so I’ll restock today and then hit it again.
