Better late than never MMP

I survived my birthday party, now it’s back to work.
Yay for good nursing werewolves, LiLi!

I forgot to say yay for good nursin’ werewolf babies LiLi.

I am a good boyfriend. OYKW all of a sudden, even knowin’ he’s goin’ to a funeral, realized he didn’t know where his funeral suit (indeed his only suit and that’s because I made him buy it) is and was panickin’ thinkin’ he’d have to go to his place and find it. This is the good boyfriend part. I reminded him that his suit is here at da cave because I was the one who took it to the dry cleaner’s and picked it up. I also reminded him that the white shirt, tie, dress shoes and good decent black belt are also here because I made him leave it all here. Thus he is now purtifyin’.

I am a good boyfriend.

Good morning, all.

Hope both Miriam and Elizabeth are doing better and better every time you see them and that they’re both home very soon.

Sorry about your friend, swampy. And yes, you are a good boyfriend.

Up later than planned, with lots to do today, starting with valentines.

We’re having winter here as well. It’s really our first snow accumulation of the season (although it’s only an inch). Need to get the snow shovels out of the garage.

Hope everyone is having a nice Saturday morning.

Hugs.

GT

Good morning everyone. I’ve been up and about for a couple hours.

I’ve got errands to run today and I’d like to get some chores done around the house. Other than that, I think today will be fairly quiet; as will tomorrow.

I’m really going to enjoy it. Well, not the errands so much, but just knowing I don’t really have to be anywhere is very nice.

Noon break time!

We went to Bob’s for breakfast, then to WalMart for cat litter and cat food - both ends are now taken care of. Plus soap and deodorant for my sweetie. When we got home, he did a water change and I started laundry. The jeans are now in the dryer, shirts are in the washer, and a load of sweaters and sweats are in standby.

My mom called with computer problems, and I helped her get squared away. Then I got a fire going because it’s still under 40° out there and cooling rapidly in here. **FCD **has run to the UPS store to send his folks’ laptop to them and to get something at Petco. I’ve downloaded a couple of crocheted hat patterns. So, yeah, busy morning.

The rain and snow have stopped, but it’s a little breezy and still icky out there. How much longer till spring??

Doing my Turbo-Taxes.

Three different employers and the state soup line took a toll on my (lack of) return this year.

:frowning:

Happy Saturday, folks…two weeks today I will be on a plane bound for New York! Woot!

Bleh, I don’t even want to face doing my taxes. Yet, I know I must, because my son will need to do his FASFA. Maybe sometime after work this week.

I must do taxes as well. Nuttin’ too hard and I should get a nice refund I just don’t wanna do 'em! ICK! Not today though.

We have funeralized and stopped for a burger on the way back to da cave. Hee! A suit in MickeyD’s on Sattidy is what you call a might over dressed. I whomped up a cake and it’s done and coolin’. Think we’ll sneak in a little nappy poo just cause we can. Then cookin’ must commence for real. 'Tis bright and sunny out but really windy and coolish.

Laterz!

OK, cake is frosted, squished casserole is all made up, giblets cooked and aigs boiled and coolin’ for deviled aigs plus two needed for giblet gravy. Mr. Turkey is also prepped for bakin’ which shall occur a little later today. Go Me!

It’s cold. There’s blowing snow. My windshield wipers iced over. And, now, for some reason, there is no hot water in the apartment. Couple is missing so I don’t know if they know about that.

Of course, I find out about the hot water *after *I got my hair wet. Kind of committed to washing it then.

Afternoon all. Busy day today - I went to the Walmarts this morning then dry cleaners, then post office, then bank, then pharmacy. Then mr ems got of work early so he wanted to go into town for lunch then we went by the Bass Pro Shop and go his early birthday present of two new fishing rods and reels that he is currently putting line on and playing with in the living room. It has not gotten above 21 American degrees here today  and with the windchill it has been close to zero American degrees :eek:

Home now and time to veggie prep for dinner and finish up the laundry doins.

Speaking of taxes…I was dreading it with the short sale on the house. We were thinking that we would end up owing a buttload but turns out the the feds owe us about $900, state of OK owes us about $300 and we owe CA about $1100. I call that a win right there

Stay warm people!

mmmmmms you have enough from the fed and OK to pay off CA and a hunnert dollars leftover. Sounds like a win to me! I suggest a nice dindin out with the hunnert dollars. If ya want you can even take Mr. mmmmmmms with ya.

Turkey is roastin’ and I’ve done everything else I wanted to get done bday dindin wise. In a coupla hours turkey will be done. After it sets for a little while Ima slice it up and refrigerate. Tomorrow I’ll heat it up along with the other stuff. All I need to “cook” tomorrow is the frozen rolls which I will thoughtfully thaw and bake. I’m all nice like that.

Yeah. It’s been above freezing here most of the time for months, and today- blizzard, cold weather warning, -20C (very cold), lots of snow. I’m bundling up for another trip out to see the girls- Mr. Lissar went earlier.

We were talking about doing an overnight, but tonight I’m just going from eight to midnight. Tomorrow I’ll try to be there for four to six hours.

Dinner was nearly instant- frozen ravioli, with broccoli, pesto, and parmesan. Tasty and very fast.

Supper tonight was good Chinese. Yay for not cooking or doing dishes!

I’m off to make a hat or two or three. Try to behave in my absence!!

OYKW made himself a sammich a while ago. I didn’t want any dindin. Cookin’ a bunch makes me not hungry.

Turkey is restin’ and in a few shall be sliced up. OYKW will slice it cause he’s really good at carvin’ up a turkey. I really don’t like doin’ it so he can just have at it!

Deheathienization was good today, ate at the Jamacian place afters. Mom & Daddy will be up next week, and are giving us a mini honeymoon. Today was a really good day! (except for the fact that it is FREEZING!)

Oh, and
**
Happy Belated Doggio day!!**

It’s 19 degrees here and the wind is gusting up to 39 mph. Fortunately I don’t really have to go anywhere tomorrow. Except to deheathenate, do laundry, and get Culinary Boy’s birthday presents. Well, crap. I guess I do have to go out in this UNGODLY COLD.

Still no hot water. I don’t know enough about the hot water heater to mess with it. My room faces where the wind’s blowing so me and my pile of blankets are going to get acquainted. I wish I could trust Mysterio El Malo Gato to not pee on my bed. If I could, he’d be hanging out with me. As it is he can sit in the living room all by himself and like it.

Today’s been kind of a rough day here. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed by everything that’s been happening all at once. I’m trying my best to move on and to make changes where necessary. I hope that will be enough.

The official word is that we’re not going to church in the morning. I’m hardly surprised since there’s a ton of snow on the ground. Of course, it doesn’t matter, I’ll still wake up early. At least I’ll be able to go back to bed for a nap, though, instead of having the usual ‘please wear an appropriate coat’ argument with my grandparents.

Sconey, isn’t there some sort of spray insulation you could ambush them with?

I stumbled onto a phrase when trying to explain my father’s mental status to a friend: “Dad no longer lives in the land of logic.” It seems to be helping.

Question on completely different topic: Has something changed about how withholding is figured from W-2s? Because I’m used to having at least 20% of my paycheck pulled for Social Security, Federal income tax, and state income tax. Last paycheck, only 5% was withheld. I’m thinking I need to file a new W-2, telling them to pull out a minimum amount each pay period. Not that I expect anything but a full refund next year - if I make more than $10K this year, I’ll count myself well off - but I really like getting a chunk of change in March after I file.
