I really like the plot of Sheldon’s panic over meeting Amy’s mother. And the final scene was priceless.
Lonely Leonard’s blind date, not so much. Too cliche, and not very funny.
Best scenes were both stair scenes.

The look on Amy’s mother’s face was priceless. Overall a good episode, although the mental image of a “Plus-size Wonder Woman” outfit is likely to haunt me for weeks.
Can someone spoil the final scene? My DVR cut out right after Sheldon said “We’re having lots of intercourse.”
Was this one of the episodes shot after Kaley Cuoco broke her arm?
Leg, and yes. Penny did not appear at all this episode.
I just assumed it was since she wasn’t in the episode. I’m sure someone will be along here with the exact wording; but after they assured the mom that they were boyfriend and girlfriend and having lots of sex, they closed the laptop. Sheldon then suggested that perhaps they try sex. They both laughed at the thought of it; and Sheldon said he was going to be and she could let herself out.
Bazinga!
I noticed Penny wasn’t in this episode, but wasn’t aware she had broken her leg. I just figured the writers were focusing on Sheldon and Leonard.
I want to learn that “These are the Stars that are Closest to Me…” song. Great scene.
The best part of that was Sheldon realizing he’d screwed up at the end and climbing back up the stairs to start over again.

I missed it, again, and CBS does not put the full episodes up on its website.
But the scene you want is there. Enjoy.
Sheldon and Amy are funny together, but I must admit, I find myself hoping that she won’t last too many more episodes. Does any one else feel the same about “Shamy”?
Hey, we finally caught up to the live run of BBT! Thanks for turning me on to this show, guys.
Two things that were hilarious at the very end (paraphrasing).
Sheldon wraps up his conversation with Amy’s mother by saying, “It’s time for me to make love to your daughter’s vagina.”
And then he says to Amy, in a completely serious way, “Perhaps we should try coitus at least once during our relationship,” and Amy looks horrified, till Sheldon says “Bazinga! Oh, it’s time for bed, please show yourself out.”
While I thought Leonard’s date was over the top, I thought the actress did a really good job. I liked how she daintily dabbed her mouth while saying “I have to visit the little girls’ room.”
The line I hated was when Leonard was telling of his misadventures posing as an Apple Genius and said he was showing a girl how to boot into safe mode. Sure, Macs can run Windows, but it sounded more like the writers blew it there.
Sheldon’s panic over meeting Mrs. Fowler was startlingly male. While he went over the top with it (of course), it was very much a standard sitcom testosterone-beast reaction. Didn’t know he had it in him.
Leonard…Leonard…Leonard…Leonard…Leonard…Leonard…Leonard.
The was a poorly written episode. Every so often they have an episode that is out of synch with the rest and this is one of them.
It makes no sense that Raj has a girlfriend. This is a throw-a-way line. These guys are good friends and Raj and Sheldon work together. It’s highly dubious Raj would have a girlfriend and no one would know.
Sloppy writing
Now we have Sheldon, I understand Sheldon is void of social skills but he’s NOT STUPID. Sheldon was stupid in this episode and that isn’t funny. OK does Sheldon really think he can remove a number from the house and Amy wouldn’t recongize it because the number on the outdoor has changed?
Sheldon ISN’T STUPID. No one is that stupid. Just because one is lacking in social skills doesn’t mean they can’t recognize the world around them
Sheldon trying to walk past Amy in a fake getup. This isn’t “I Love Lucy,” and Sheldon ISN’T STUPID.
Sloppy, sloppy writing.
Leonard comes off as a total pathetic loser. This isn’t funny. It was nice how Leonard realizes he is better than a date with no class and says so. It’s not funny to reduce Leonard down to the sterotypical male when the date says she’s so drunk she’ll give it away.
This is not an episode of “Three’s Company,” Leonard is supposed to have more morals than to hope to take advantage of a drunk woman to get off.
So we have the bit about Leonard saying he doens’t need a woman, and he can be happy on his own. Wasn’t this the message of women in the 70s like Mary Richards, who didn’t need a man. But then we have Leonard accepting a date from a woman who says she’ll be so drunk, she’ll give it away. So the writers sacrificed a great character trait and reduced Leonard to a typical sitcom male, all for the sake of a two second joke and a weak laugh
Again sloppy, sloppy writing.
The use of the testicles seems to have been a test for CBS. OK so now that penis isn’t funny well use “nuts.” What’s worse is the exact same writing and use of the word occurs on “Shit My Dad Says” which follows it
Did CBS have the writers write that in like that to test the word and push the limits?
As for Amy, it could be a good character. In the previous episode she was in, she was given some development. But here in this episode, we have Mayim Bialik, just saying lines that could’ve come out of Sheldon’s mouth. You didn’t even need her, Sheldon could’ve said almost all her lines.
So while the episode was OK, and certainly “The Big Bang Theory” easily is still the best sit-com on TV, this was a mess.
They need to get back to the 2nd season and have decent writers and not just see how many cheap laughs they can get by using the word “nuts”
It’s supposed to be somewhat of a sophisticated sitcom and not having to rely on semi-shockinng words to achieve a cheap laugh, which could’ve been corrected by using decent writing
Definitely an odd episode. I agree that quite a few things were not consistent with the character’s normal personas. Irritating but still a decent episode.
I wasn’t sure if Raj’s deaf girlfriend was real or a hypothetical.
I assumed that Bernadette set up Leonard with The Worst Blind Date Ever as a favor to Penny. But they didn’t play it that way, at least in this episode.
Didn’t Sheldon skip α Centauri B?
Macs have a safe mode.
If anyone was ever wondering if he was OCD or not…
Well, he didn’t really panic about the meeting so much as being thought of as a boyfriend, rather than a boy who is a friend. He doesn’t want a girlfriend; he wants a girl who is his friend (and the girl part is negotiable. Come to think of it, him wanting a friend is also negotiable.)
I loved him politely signing off and closing the laptop, then haring off screeching after Leonard.
Finally got around to transcribing it:
