Leonard dates Amy Farrah Fowler.
The previews make it look like a good one.
I thought it was one of the worst episodes since the Shelbot. Sheldon didn’t seem himself. His crack to Penny about “keep eating, I’ve seen your mother” was very un-sheldon-like. And when he put the N-gauge train car in his mouth, that also seemed off. Wouldn’t Sheldon be worried about germs? Amy’s mustache joke wasn’t funny, and seemed to be repeated way more than it should’ve been.
Anyway, at least last week’s episodes were (IMO) good. I hope the rest of the season is more like them and less like tonight’s episode.
I dunno, it had it’s moments. Bernie’s exchange with Howard’s mother was funny.
& it was interesting to learn a little about AFF’s past. I felt really bad for her.
As for Sheldon, when he gets really wound up about something he tends to be a little less germ-phobic… Witness the whole Zazzy episode. Under ordinary circumstances, I can’t imagine Sheldon allowing an animal into his bed.
Based on that, and his reaction tonight, I think he must have some pretty strong feelings for AFF. I also think it’s entirely possible that he doesn’t even realize this yet.
Funny moments but both Amy and Sheldon seemed to be different characters this week. But there is precedent for sending Sheldon off into the infantile realm (the trip to Disneyland, for example).
IMO, The Zazzy (Cats) episode from last season would be in violation of the roommate agreement.
Bernadette does voices very well. her last line was in a great Jewish (regular) Mom’s voices.
If they had a Two and Half Men type of episode title, I think it would have been “The Eagle Has Landed”
The thing that got me about the Zazzy episode was that in a previous episode, Sheldon was unhappy about Leonard planning on getting a cat to soothe himself after being rejected by females.

I’m liking Bernadette more and more, and it was a wonderful screaming match between her and Howard’s mother.
I agree that Sheldon seemed more functional, but Amy has always been an unknown (and more functional) quality.
In terms of Bernadette, I’m seeing precedent for either Raj wooing her, or for some kind of threesome…
I agree that Sheldon’s comment, “I’ve seen your mother. Keep eating.” was out of character. His karate chop to Sheldon was unexpected and cute.
I thought it was funny that Leonard wore a tux to the wedding. Here in the Midwest, the only men who wear a tux are in the wedding party or a parent of the couple.
I thought that the whole Bernadette/Howard/mother thing was done better during the episode when they moved in together. And you’d have thought that the issue of where they’d live would have been resolved by now considering Bernadette broke up with him over that very issue last season.
It’s always looked to me like some of the Room-mate Agreement is about stuff Leonard is or isn’t allowed to do. It always seemed pretty Sheldon-biased (IIRC, he is the leaseholder)
Did anyone else like Penny’s reaction when AFF told Penny that Penny had more of a shot with her than Leonard did?
I think this episode shows that Mayim Bialk has made the transition from child to adult actor. She is hilarious.
What the hell does Bernadette see in Howard. She is smart and beautiful, yet is engaged to a mama’s boy?
Why was Raj even in this episode?
although I still miss Leslie, the female nerd character from the first season, I love Mayim Bialik as Amy Farah Fowler so much. The actress has a Facebook page/blog that is very endearing. other fans should check it out.
I have no idea why Bernadette stays with Howard at all, especially after this episode. Everything he does should immediately send her running for the hills.
She does do an excellent impersonation of the mother…
I did not like the “Amy Farah Fowler” too much when she was first introduced, but she has definitely grown on me. She is hilarious!
It is Sheldon-centric, but there are definitely mutual responsibilities in there. The fact that if either of them ever invent a time-machine they have to travel back to the moment of signing, for instance. IIRC there are also a few clauses like “if either one of us develops a superpower…”, or “whoever gets an invitation to the Large Hadron Collider…” etc. I just presume Leonard doesn’t bother with it unless he has to.
Reading the TV Guide fall preview, Chuck Lorre basically said (in so many words) that Sheldon & Amy as an actual romantic couple will never happen; Sheldon is too much in love with Science to make room for a woman.
Based on this scene, I have to conclude that Chuck was lying. It’s obvious Sheldon has feelings for Amy - he wouldn’t react with such jealousy if he didn’t.
And what did she call him? Her “kinda, sorta, not quite boyfriend”? My paraphrasing could be all wrong, but that, coupled with the karate chop…
Are they just going through the permutations of possible couplings at this point? If next (or any future) episode features Bernadette and Sheldon in odd quasi-romantic or hinted-at romantic circumstances, I think I’ll call it quits… Raj and Howard cyber-making out last episode was hilarious, but they need to tone down the awkward romance aspect, IMHO.
Also, didn’t we go through the whole living-at-Howard’s-mom’s last season? Bits and pieces of this episode felt oddly familiar…
Yes. They did an episode where he moved in, and then moved out within a day or two after he suggested that Bernadette should do his cooking and drive him to his dental appointment.
