Big Brother 9/9 Open Spoilers

Damn, damn, damn. Well, maybe not…

It sucks that Nakomis is swimming in a sea of dumb but hungry fish — however, the best possible scenario from a bad situation occured last night with Drew winning HOH. Here’s the thing:

If Cowboy had won, he would have done whatever Drew told him. Ditto for his bitch, Diane. But Drew is the passive-aggressive pretty boy worshipped by both his right arm (Cowboy) and his left arm (Diane). It so happens that he HAS to put up TWO people for eviction, and that means that Cowboy and Diane will be locked in moral combat for the next couple of days.

This puts Drew in exactly the position of confrontation that he hates. He will not be just wrestling with his infantile conscience, he will have to think on his feet — something he is entirely incapable of doing. Any hint of preference for either one over the other, and he will find himself minus one ally and plus one enemy.

Nakomis, or course, played it smart by being immediately conciliatory as soon as Karen walked out. She shrugged it off and removed herself as an object of concern. She will sit back and watch this week as Cowboy and Diane fight over pieces of Drew. All things considered, she is in a pretty good position.

Drew’s best plan of action is to put up both Diane AND Cowboy. Then they have 3/4 people working for the veto. There’s the chance Nakomis could win it, which would suck for him, but it’s not as likely. Then they could remove one from the block, replace them with Nakomis, and call it a day. Kind of like turning Nakomis’ own strategy back on her.

I’m gonna go ahead and predict Cowbow wins it. I would be happy if he or Drew did, not so much the women.

They have 3/4 of the people working for the veto anyway. There are no more tag teams, and there’ll be only one person voting. I agree that Nakomis needs to win the veto, but already Drew has pissed off Diane, who has all but accused him of having a crush on Cowboy and/or Adria. Cowboy and Diane each have one ear, and each is pulling hard.

I’m still pulling for Nakomis… And praying that Cowboy is struck mute very soon.

At this point, the power of veto is more crucial than HOH. Sure, Drew is safe no matter what, but it really doesn’t matter who he puts up. If anyone other than Drew wins veto, that person decides which of the other two goes. If Drew or Cowboy wins veto, Nakomis is gone. If Diane wins veto, probably Nak but possibly Cowboy. If Nakomis wins, probably Cowboy–she will keep Diane around for the unlikeability factor as well as any pinky-dinky promises made.

With the track record of previous wins, I’d say Nakomis and Diane have an equal shot at it. The law of averages, though, could make CB the veto winner (especially if there is the possibility of conspiring, like last week).

I’ve only seen 1 1/2 seasons of this show, so I have a question. When it’s down to 3, does HOH even matter? Isn’t the veto winner the only safe player? Does power of veto trump HOH in that final eviction before the jury vote?

And on another note, what does everyone think of Diane’s game-play so far?

The Final Four veto is the final veto. Whoever wins HoH next Thursday won’t nominate anyone. They’ll just pick someone to go. No veto, no appeal, no politicking. In some past seasons, it was an instant decision…come in from the final HoH competition and make a choice, forming the final two. I don’t remember if that’s the way it was last time or whether there was a time lag, though…

Thanks, jayjay, that makes sense. I recall from last season Allison, Jun and Erica sitting on the couch and Allison fake crying as she evicted Erica, but I didn’t know which competition steps led to that. Allison must have won HOH (some endurance thing, right?) and she picked Jun to lose to.

Did anybody catch the plagiarized strains of O mio babino caro during the Karen montage? O mio babina Karen. I will miss her.

The final HoH has been an edurance competition the last two seasons. I don’t remember BB2 well enough to remember if it was then, and I didn’t see BB1.

In BB3, Danielle, Jason and Lisa were all in tiny rowboats out in a huge tank in the back yard and had to hold onto their key constantly while going through random periods of simulated hurricane (wind machine and artificial rain).

In BB4, Jun, Allison and Robert (not Erica…I think you’re remembering Jason evicting Lisa in BB3) had to stand on a box and hold onto their keys while randomly undergoing a blizzard.

Aigh! Where did that come from? Jason couldn’t have evicted Lisa…Lisa won!

When Lisa evicted Jason as the final eviction…I think that’s it. She was more teary-eyed than he was, now that I remember it.

Last year’s final HOH was a three-parter. Alison won the endurance competiton (holding onto the key in a fake snowstorm) and moved on to the final round. Erika and Jun had to compete in another competition to see who would face the winner of round one in the final. I think round two was a combination physical/mental challenge. They had to put cards in the correct order on some step type things. I believe the final round was knowing what the ousted houseguests thought of you. A “who said what?” thing.

Diane has played a decent game of getting herself to the final four but has made it next to impossible for herself to win because she’s made too many enemies on the jury. I think Diane isn’t even playing to win the game any more. All she wants to win is Drew and she’s much delusioned if she thinks they’re going anywhere for long after this is over.

I’d like to see Nakomis go home with the money. If she doesn’t win the veto her only chance of survival is to discover Drew’s plan of taking Cowtard to the final two and get Diane to turn against Drew. Actually, she and Karen needed to do that before Karen was evicted.

I’d just like to take this opportunity to say two things about two players.

First, Nakomis is a huge hypocrite for holding Adria’s actions in the game against her based solely on the fact that she may or may not have “pinky-sweared” with Will and the rest her alliance. Then, she turns around and admits that she would evict her own brother, even though she promised him she wouldn’t. Her reasoning for this: “Why would I vote out Karen when her presence increases my chances of making it to the end?” And this is different from Adria’s strategy…how? She has been an overall great player, but her attitude towards Adria and Natalie is ludicrous. Oh yeah, and unless she wins the veto, she’s DOOMED to lose.

Second, Will is hands-down the whiniest, most immature player this season. His hatred for Adria and Natalie is frankly disgusting, and his attitude towards them is ridiculously childish. The fact that he takes their actions in the game so personally also does not speak well of his overall mental state and maturity. I can’t imagine how catty and easily offended he is in real life. I’m glad he didn’t win the money.

I just had to come in to say “word up” to everything Psycho Pirate just said. Nakomis annoys me right now - so it’s okay to break your promise to not put someone up for eviction if you tell them a couple of hours in advance? Cowboy should be bitch-slapping her when she even mentions it.

Yeah, it makes a huge difference. She talked to him about it and he agreed to it. The plan was that Cowtard wasn’t going to be voted out. It was about as secure as things can get in BB and it held up. He was a pawn. He agreed to the plan. He didn’t really like it but said he’d go along with it. He had a chance to object and he chose not to. I believe that if he’d said he didn’t want to do it she would have changed her plan, and she wasn’t even aligned with him. Nakomis has been as straight-forward as anyone I’ve seen on this show and I have a lot of respect for that. As far as getting where she needs to be without totally pissing people off, she’s done a great job.

Adria on the other hand, blindsided someone from her own alliance then expected and outright encouraged them (Will and Marvin) to kiss her ass to use the veto on one of them. I agree that Will has been pretty pissy and immature about the whole thing but I respect both him and Marvin for not groveling to her like she wanted them to. What a c*nt.
