Big Brother All Stars: 8/17

George!

Poor George…his first time as HoH and he’s put on the spot immediately. At least he gets to eat this week.

Wow. I missed the show last night and come to find out that it’s a double elimination week and Georgie is the HoH! And he nominated Erika and James! I’ve actually gotten a bit teary reading the live feed recaps from last night (I’m such a dork). George has been mostly on the outside this whole time and nobody has really included him that much. That’ll all change this week when they’re all kissing his ass. Howie has probably been the nicest to him, so it doesn’t surprise me that he wouldn’t put Howie up, or Janelle because he doesn’t want to hurt Howie. There is always the danger that George would backdoor one of them, but I doubt it. I’m so happy he nominated James.

Does this mean that George will have to pick a second set of two nominees this week? Or is there going to be a second HOH competition?

I believe there will be a second HoH competition, probably on Sunday?

Power of veto update from the live feed recaps:

James has won the power of veto. No word yet on who George will put up to replace him. Of course some are trying to talk him into putting up Janelle, but he was also leaning toward Danielle.

George and Boogie really have a chance to restart this entire operation. The alliances have all but crumbled with S6 down to 2, Chilltown never really more than 2, the Whatever of Doom in real doubt if there ever was anything strong there.

Boogie will hold his coup d’etat until the last minute when it will do him the most good, which could well be after this week.

But George must reveal himself, maybe twice, this week. His background lurking will not work any longer.

I’m just thrilled that that whining weasel Marcellas is no longer there to interfere with the real battling that’s about to get underway in earnest.

Will has the upper hand if anyone will take the time to notice, and George ought to see that now is his best chance to get Will out. Will’s departure would clarify many things, but James is most likely to get booted as soon as it’s legal to do so.

Until Boogie resolves the coup d’etat issue, he’s safe, but he needs to go as soon as possible.

George needs to do something that may be really uncomfortable for him: think.

What’s the best place to find the online recaps?

Here’s where I go.

I’m so freakin’ happy for George, and I’m SO glad that Mike won the crazy special power instead of Janelle, like I thought I had read online.

And to top it off, my dear friend called during a commercial break to announce that she’d had a great idea for our Big Brother Party: Spool-of-Lies Fries!

This is why she gets paid the big bucks.

Holy crap. Power of veto ceremony just got over and I’m totally in shock right now.

Obviously James used the PoV to save himself. It looked like George was going to put up either Will or Danielle based on last night and this morning, but ended up putting up Howie. WTF?!

I don’t get it.

They did the eviction tonight. From the live feeds:

Howie’s gone. Apparently he had a major meltdown. Janelle cried for at least an hour. Boogie’s the new HoH.

More updates:
When last we left BB, George had won HOH and nominated James and Erica, James won the veto and George put up Howie in his place. Howie was evicted and apparently had a bit of a fit when he left. Janelle also had a meltdown, was sobbing, throwing around the word “suicide,” etc. Will was able to talk to her and eventually calm her down. Boogie won the next HOH and nominated James and Janelle. There was a Veto comp and Janelle won the Veto. James, however, has been complaining non-stop that she “cheated” (something to do with grabbing a doll out of his hands, which none of the other HG’s saw and which BB says they can’t see on the tapes). James has been claiming the game is “rigged,” “They want the whore to win,” and on and on in that vein. Everyone else is sick of his whining and is trying to tell him to move on. They haven’t held the Veto ceremony yet but it looks like Booger will probably put up George in Janey’s place, and the plan is to vote out James (though he doesn’t know it yet).

Also, Boogie lost his Coup de’Tat power because he talked about it to Danielle.
In commentary to Dio’s spoiler box:

The last part is moot, anyway. As head of household, he doesn’t really have any use for the Coup at this point and it would have been his last chance to use it.

Without reading the spoilers, here’s my take:

Remember, Julie said the coup d’etat was only good for the next three evictions. Counting Thursday’s, that means he has only until next Thursday (8/24) to use it. Were I him, I’d use it tonight and replace James and Erika with Janelle and Howie, thereby breaking S6’s back and putting Chilltown in complete control (not that they weren’t already!). Still, I don’t think he’ll make F4. It’ll be Will, James, Danielle and Erika. Last week I predicted George instead of Erika, but I think Chicken Man hung himself by putting up James.

I disagree…
I’m not sure about the details of its use, but couldn’t he have used the Coup on himself? To basically undo the veto, thereby restoring his original nominations? Also, having the Coup power while being HOH would be a good strategic position in that he could put up two pawns with his HOH nominations. The usual campaigning and promising of votes would ensue, and then at the eviction ceremony Mike could use the Coup to overthrow his own nominations and then put up Danielle (the biggest threat in the house, especially now that Janelle has no allies) and, say, Erika as a pawn (she’s used to it). With no time to rally her defense, Dani goes home and Chill Town is in charge.

But, eh, they would also be smart to send James home this week. He is such a weasel, nobody can really trust him, and he is probably more loyal to Dani than to Mike and Will.
Tangent

When Boogie was told about the Coup, he was told that it could not be used to nominate anyone who had already won the Veto.

Ah, ok, didn’t know that. Thanks.

My point about the value of the Coup as a means to surprise his nominees still works, though
