Bizarre Signage - A Directionless MMP

Again – thanks. And the good news is Friday I’ll be with the nicely abnormal side of the family grabbing for the brass ring and probably breaking a bumper car; or at least denting one a little. It’s OK — they are very used to us there.

I don’t know — for plants I usually recommend an axe. Or a pipe wrench. Napalm isn’t that bad an idea either come to think of it. And much easier to make at home than an axe or a pipe wrench. Trust me on that one — I read all about it. Yeah – that’s right – read.

Didn’t read, but I’ll give you a movie review -

Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! gets two thumbs off!!!

It’s so bad it’s good!

Does anyone (everyone) else love the name “Food Lion”?

I used to go toashop called “Foodland”. I liked that name a lot, but “Food Lion” is much better.

Up, caffeinated, off to work.

It is easy. Good thing, too, my G.I. Joes had to napalm a Cobra unit in my backyard when I was a kid. I love the smell of napalm in the morning:smiley:

**FCD **wandered in an amazed fog last night. After all the months of futzing with his bike and the associated systems, especially the electrical, he finally put some gas in the tank, and it started on the first try!! Since the bike is on a jack, he could see that the speedometer is working - how accurately is another question - and the tach is taching along. So he was very happy.

He’s decided he’s going to repaint the saddlebags - good thing I didn’t finish what I was doing to them.

As for me, today’s a yard-mowing day. I skipped last week and things are looking kinda shaggy. So I’ll rev up ol’ John Deere and take a ride around FairyChatEstates. I need to remember to put insect repellent on - the skeeters have been particularly hungry of late.

Best of all - it’s payday! Time to send all our money to VISA. Most of our monthly bills are paid on VISA since we get cash back, so our VISA bill is always stupid high. But every time we get money, I transfer it from one account to the other and life is good. More than you care about, I’m sure. But certainly more interesting than hearing that I had PB&J for breakfast.

Happy Thursday, all!!

And you sound like you live near me since those exact roads go through My Fair City. Twilight Zone music plays

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 96 and probably tboomers crankin’ up around fourish or so. That’s been the weather pattern mostly.

{{{rosie and doggio}}}

This mornin’ I shall venture over to the near west forty and then up to the north forty. I’m comin’ back to da cave and irkin’ from here after that just cause I can. I also need to figure out dindin. I’m leanin’ toward swipin’ the General’s dindin.

Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Me, too. Erie.

Blurf.

{{{{{Rosie}}}}}

Can someone please come over and wash dishes for me? I’ve got quite a few dinner plates, but eventually I’m going to run out.

The lawn is mowed. I am showered and dressed. I’ve got a load of stuff in the washer - when it’s on the line, I’ll run the dishwasher.

Good times!

Oh, and the house is still open - YAY!

FoodLand is still around here a little along with Giant Eagle – or Geagle as the locals pronounce it. My favorite name was always Piggly Wiggly but I rarely got to shop in any.

(Food Lion to me will always be best known for being investigated about 196 times by Dateline, 60 Minutes and everyone else.)

PS – I taint all that far from a 40 and a 70 either - use both regularly.

When we lived in FL, I remember lots of bad news stories about Food Lion. Heck, I even bought a bag of frozen veggies that had apparently been thawed, allowed to breed a science experiment, then refrozen. It was a lot of years before I’d go back. But the one in Leonardtown is pretty decent - I’ve never gotten anything funky from them and their prices are in general lots better than McKay’s, the small (3 stores) local chain.

Publix is a Florida chain, right? When we lived in south east FL, that was our store.
Here on Lawn Guylindt, there have been many: Food Town, Food Fair, Waldbaum’s, King Kullen, Daitch Shopwell, A&P, Gristede’s, Associated; Now we’re overrun with Stop & Shop, Shoprite, and Pathmark. Our Walmarts and Targets don’t have grocery sections here.

I would shop at Publix occasionally in FL, but they were almost always the most expensive option. Albertson’s was a little cheaper, and WinnDixie cheaper still. I used to love Publix’s bakery, but I understand from my MIL that they’ve gone down in quality. They made the best raisin pumpernickel bread once upon a time…

Happy Thorsday!

It’s cool outside, went down to 58 last night.

It’s been a rough morning, I overslept and was late for irk. I feel like hell.
I should go to the armpit today because of the doctor appointment tomorrow but I don’t know if I am up to it. The appointment is late enough in the day that I could drive down tomorrow.

Maybe a nap and then I’ll decide.

Tennessee or North Carolina?

We still have a Foodland in my little town, as well as a Publix, Kroger, WalMart, Aldi, Sav-A-Lot and CashSaver. Food Lion and Albertson’s went out of this area several years ago. The CashSaver store is what replaced the one that alternated between H.G. Hills and PigglyWiggly (both franchises were held by the same company locally). I generally split my shopping up among Kroger, Aldi, Publix and the International Market when I’m in Nashville.

Howdy Y’all! I survived the north forty and am now in da cave. I have much paperirk to review and upload to TPTB. It’s hawt out and I’m pretty sure tstorms will be poppin’ up ere long. I need to accomplish mowage big time and was hopin’ to do some this evenin’ and tomorrow evenin’. Da yahd is on the verge of bein’ the worst in da 'hood. Heavens!

I miss Food Kitty. I wish we had a Kroger. Publix and Harvey’s are the only chains locally now. I also like the IGA in da burg.

Ok, I should get back to irk. Le Sigh.

Do invisible rabbits infest the produce department? :dubious:

Well, so much, for mowage this evenin’. We just had a biiiiiiig rain with more rain plus tboomers on the way.

Only the carrots. It’s impossible to find a decent carrot in Harvey’s produce department.
