Bizarre Signage - A Directionless MMP

I thought for sure that someone would say, “I haven’t seen any.”

The TP king has <snerk>paperirk<snerk> to do.

I’m on the Cackalack side of the mountains, where the opening of any grocery store not called “Ingles” is a big huge stop the presses and make sure all news organizations know line out the door on opening day event.

Howdy all. Since this is Mundane & Pointless Stuff I will play the grocery game. On my little island 30 miles up the road we have a Winn Dixie aka Win Dick Me. Here in the Southernmost city we have 2 Publix’s, and a Winn Dixie. There used to be an Albertson’s but it closed and the new Publix opened in it’s place. The two Publix’s are within a 1/4 mile of each other. We refer to them as the new Publix and the old Publix. I like Publix but it is a tad expensive. I miss the old Albertson’s.

I took a nap and didn’t wake up until almost 3 and if I was going to the armpit I needed to be out of here by 3.
So I’ve wasted an hour not doing anything.

Dinner is in the microwave, I forgot I had a box of frozen manicotti in vodka sauce. So that will be dinner tonight.

It didn’t rain anymore (well, as of yet) after my last post so even though the grass was kinda wet, I accomplished mowage of the front yahd. Maybe tomorrow evenin’ I can get the back yahd mowed. Oh, and we swiped the General’s dindin.

I’m all sleepified and tahrd.

I killded the MMP!

MURDERER!!!:stuck_out_tongue:

Supper was yum - salmon and Amish N.O.T.s and Amish 'maters and leftover Amish corn. Non-Amish ice cream for dessert.

**FCD **is off tomorrow, so we’ll try to sleep in. HAH - I made a joke!!!

Time to veg. MWAH!

I worked, I napped, maintenance stopped by to look at the fried electrical outlet. Looks like I need an electrician. I got Kroger, Harris Teeter(now owned by Kroger), Food Lion, Aldi, Trader Joe’s, Publix, and a couple of small franchise ones. I’ve never been to the Publix in Cary, and I don’t like the selection and price of the Food Lions. I usually shop Kroger, and get the specialty stuff from Teeter and Trader Joe’s.

I bought beer at that Winn-Dixie.

sticky! : tacklehug :
And I would, if I was closer.

I have GOT to start getting more sleep! Today was pretty rugged, due to being tired from not enough time with my pillow (quality or quantity) and sore back/legs from excavating and reorganizing a storage closet. Then, my bus missed my usual train by about a minute (the driver really was trying to get there on time, I suspect she’d had difficulty with a passenger at one of the stops before mine), so I was late for work (boss is very kind about these things). The mile walk from the train station to irkplace didn’t help the legs and back, either (this because bus from train to irk was running way late, and I got there faster on foot).

At least some new computer-related accessories are doing their intended job, and I now have a desk of my very own back! (DH had been using the desktop computer on what was nominally my desk for a lot, since his elderly Mac can’t seem to cope with the modern Web.)

Told a very nice Web site what I wanted for dinner from a nearby Chinese place, delivery should be soon-ish.

Dinner was good, I’ll have to buy it again but only when it’s on sale. I think it’s something like $8 which is too much for 5 small manicotti noodles, I don’t care how good they are.
Sah-son, the picky, likes it too. Good because it’s something we both eat, bad because there are no leftovers.

So tomorrow I head for the armpit and to the doctor. I am so dreading this exam. I don’t know if I’m spending the night or coming home the same day.
Then I am done except now the doctor is pushing for a mammogram and that other thingie I’ve never had. I’m saying no for now, I’ve had enough. I want to feel normal for a while.

We’ll order from Safeway again, so that is where I’m shopping. There are no Safeways out here. We have Weis and Food Lion.
I miss grocery delivery and gasoline points.

Time for bed I think

Nearly to the end of July and it’s 62° here at the moment!!! I knew I should have opened all the windows last night, but *someone *claimed it was too hot. Well, they’re open now, except in the bedroom where he’s sleeping.

I think today is fruit day and trash/recycling day. I’m going to cut up the 'lope and I’ll scald and peel the peaches, then chop some for jam and slice the rest for the freezer. Once that’s done, I’ll have even more waste to take to the convenience center this afternoon.

Tonight, we go see Spamalot by the Port Tobacco Players. It should be fun and worth the very cheap ticket prices. We may even go out to dinner before. So, a full day ahead.

Happy Firday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 91 and afternoon/early evenin’ rain/tstorms/apocalypse. I hope it’ll hold off long enough so I can accomplish mowage of da back yahd.

Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Today is a conference call plus yet more paperirk stuff to deal with. Joy.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Morning, mumpers! I’ve had a mixed couple of days one way and another. At the beginning of the week, I heard that a favourite lecturer’s husband had passed away which has left all of the office feeling down becuase she is a lovely lady and her husband was often seen coming past our office waving to us as he walked their rescue Alsatian.

Things brightened up on Wednesday when I got an email telling me I’d won six weekend passes to a rock festival next March. I’d entered a competition because there was a band on that I really wanted to see, and it’s just after my birthday, but I never expected to win anything.

Now there is bad news from (((((rosie and doggio)))))

But it’s Friday so that is something to be happy about. I’m off to Liverpool tomorrow to see my favouritest band so that is definitely going to make my weekend a much happier place.

Blurf, Firday edition.

Today is my last day at this orifice, and the new gig starts bright and early Monday. As is tradition, since this is a voluntary last day, I brought donuts.

Up way earlier than I meant to be, but since I went to bed ridiculously early, that’s pretty OK. I woke up on my own and could not go back to sleep, so that must mean I should be up.

61 right now, projected high 88. I can deal.

Three-day weekend, courtesy of boss deciding I needed Saturday and Monday off (the store is closed on Sunday anyway). I’ll probably spend at least part of it mining out MY desk. I’ll probably also spend a stupid amount of time playing Facebook games. As if Cookie Jam wasn’t enough, I’ve also managed to get hooked on Juice Jam. Throw in Candy Crush…

Happy Firday!

Trying to get up and get a shower but I feel so blurfy.

I need to be out of here by 10, gives me 2 hours to get to the pit, a half hour to settle, then on to the doctor.

Best wishes on the Drs. appointment, Sari. My doc has been bugging me to get a stress test for the heart, and I’ll probably give in before the end of the year, but getting on a treadmill until I’m ready to pass out is not my idea of a fun day.

Hope yours is full of only good news.

Otherwise, it’s Firday, so that can’t be all bad. It rained twice this week so I have saved on my water bill by letter Mom Nature take care of the lawn.

Shopping here is most publix and Kroger, with the Wal-Mart Supercenters thrown in. Most of the rest have given up the ghost, although you can find a few Piggly-Wigglies on the borderlands.

Need to do some serious house-cleaning this weekend…note I said need to do, not that I will do…:wink:
